This is for a very rare and very hard to find solid wood antique spindle bed. Wheels on the bottom with cast iron. Heavy side rails. This is an antique twin bed. Marked VONG on the rails. No other manufacturer name. Very, very old, dating to late 1800s or early 1900s. Normal surface wear. Small dent on the headboard, can be fixed, by sanding and staining if wanted, see photo, it can be repaired. This bed is gorgeous a one-of-a-kind and very, very hard to find. Rails no longer have the screws or bolts to attached, but they can be purchased and installed separately. Circa Late 1800s. We are selling the foot-board. The headboard and the two side rails only. These beds were used from the turn of the century to the early 1940's in a few precincts that had dormitories for police officers to sleep between shifts. It is extremely heavy cast iron. Here is a very nice large sized cast iron doll bed. It is made just like a regular sized old cast iron bed with drop in rails and spring platform. It comes with a newer cloth covered foam mattress that was made for this. Condition is good. There are chips to the paint but no damage to the head or foot board. I think the paint is probably not original since there is grey primer on the edges of the springs only. The head and foot are painted gold. The springs seem to have unravelled at the ends and someone has added some additional wire to reinforce the platform It is about 24" long by 12 3/4" across the width and 12" tall. Antique Cast Iron Crib ( bed ) shabby chick
Would make an awesome actual baby crib(current safety standards aside. I.e. distance between rails, etc) if sandblasted and painted. Could be used for many other things like fab up a bench with some shabby boards and three of the sides. Could also be a very neat looking flower"bed" if sink in the ground a bit and planted accordingly. Trellis? I've left it as found in case the rusty patina was desired but it can easily be painted also. Missing one of the sliders but easily made or replaced as they have not changed much. My thought would be just wire brush off any loose stuff and clear coat it with spray can to keep the look. Pick-up only.

The so-called vintage bed frames of today cannot rival these antique bed frames which are solid cast iron designed and built by American craftsmen in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
