I am unsure of the exact age of the bed, but I believe that it most likely dates to the late 19th Century. I believe that it is made of oak, but I cannot be completely certain. The bed frame can also be converted to a queen-size with an alternate wooden insert and metal bed frame that will be included in this sale. This is a very rare solid mahogany rope sleigh bed dating to the mid 19th century. This wonderful high end piece of furniture is stamped A&D 71 on one of the rails of the head or foot board. This piece is in excellent original condition. The cloth attaching the side rails is not in the best of shape, it is torn. This was a high end bed, it features a ratcheting system to enable the use to tighten the ropes as the stretched over time! I have heard of people using a thick memory foam mattress or a pillow top mattress on these rope beds. This is either a full or 3/4 size bed. Antique Youth Bed c.1930 Appraised Maple Ship Nautical Side Rails Child Toddler
Maple youth bed c.1930 via appraiser. This bed has been in my family for 3 generations. Appraised in December 2000 at $1.000. Copy of appraisal can be included if desired. Very good condition considering age however it is in used condition. Some of the top layer of the ship/trim(see close up of headboard) detail on the headboard has chipped off over time. But the design is still clear and attractive because it is just the top thin layer of carving. Bed can be used with or witout the bedrails/sides which go half way down the bed to prevent falling out. Since this is a youth bed it requires larger than a crib mattress but smaller than a twin. We had a new mattress made in 2000. FREE with the bed if you would like it. It is in very good shape with one flaw being a metal rod from inside the mattress is poking out the side. This is a set or pair of iron bed rails typically used on antique iron beds. They measure 73 1/4" long from tip to tip and 72 1/4" long not counting the pins and have tapered pins which are 7/8" across at the top. We provided pictures that show the measurements using a tape measure. There is some obvious paint loss which is typical but otherwise are fine. We also have some other bed rails presently listed in our store. It is available for pick up or can be shipped by Fed Ex ground for 28.80 including insurance to the lower 48 states. Antique Bedframe Bed Frame Headboard, Footboard, Rails with Cameo Silhouette
Gorgeous antique bed frame acquired from original owner's estate in Texas. This bed set includes a headboard. Footboard and two side rails. Being an antique. It most certainly looks the part, and is in good condition. The headboard and footboard have curved tops with the most beautiful pewter colored cameo silhouette. This is truly a one of a kind find. There are no missing parts and assembly is easy because the rails fit together like a jigsaw puzzle(see picture) I was able to assemble this all by myself. Being an antique. There is a small amount of rust and aged patina on the headboard, but nothing that would affect the functionality of the bed. I believe the patina's appearance makes it more appealing and wouldn't change it but some might like to sand and paint. Offering a vintage Twin bed painted in Antique White. This is an older bed. I am not quite sure if it is antique. The bed railing is 13.5" from the floor, so it can easily accommodate a trundle underneath. The headboard is about 44" tall. The bed has some lovely details and displays nicely. There are some scratching and colored marker on the paint. It will probably need to be repainted to show at its best. The wood is strong and solid of unknown origin.
