I was given this chest of drawers in high school in 1956. It is solid wood and extremely sturdy. It is maple but in the 70s I stained the chest a darker color. The original color can be seen on the mirror and inside of the drawer. You could remove the stain if desired. There are no stains or defects. I remember it was a name brand like Ethan Allen. But I cannot find it on the chest. A gift of this chest of drawers would last another lifetime!

VINTAGE 1950's Madmen 8-Drawer Dresser - Good and Sturdy
This is a stunning piece of craftsmanship. It is a beautifully designed and crafted vintage 1950's dresser. It has the most amazing style and drawer detail. It has 8 drawers. The top two left and right have 4 dividers for 5 compartments. Perfect for ties, socks, and the like. Then the next 2 drawers are narrow without partitions, then the 3rd level of drawers has one partition, so it has one divided compartment. Drawers are dovetailed and solid wood. I don't think the fronts are veneer. I'm 98% sure this is oak. It's super heavy and sturdy. Dimensions are 58" wide, 20" deep, 34" high. It has beautiful angles for the feet. The right side of the dresser might need to be glued. The panels are separating due to the cold storage it was in. I bought this at an estate sale and think once it gets into a normal room ... moretemperature it would be fine and wood will swell back, especially if a bit of wood glue were added. It doesn't affect the functionality of this piece. The top has pictures of what condition it is in, it's not flawless like the front of the drawers.
