This is a very special vintage danish modern piece. It was custom made in the late 1960's by a danish trained cabinet maker by the name of Drazka. He immigrated to the United States after apprenticing in Denmark as a cabinet designer. He then went on to make cabinets for high end homes around the country. Before moving to Las Vegas in the late 1970's. In Vegas he was contracted by several major casinos on the Las Vegas strip, and he designed many of the bars and seating in the nightclubs and restaurants in the strip casinos. This bedroom credenza w/ full size vanity is his own custom design. He built it for himself. And was in his bedroom for the last several decades. Made from 2 types of wood(teak and birch. I was told) it had solid brass hardware, and is in absolutely incredible condition for being approx 45-50 years old! It measures ... moreapprox: 60" long. 23" tall, and 18" deep. Here is an absolutely delightful and very rare to find complete with mirror mid-century Danish Modern design teak dresser. Vanity or dressing table with mirror by the Austinsuites Furniture Company, England, who were among the English furniture makers who switched gears from their former quality traditional design furniture to compete in the new rapidly growing market of the times and specialized in manufacturing quality teak mid-century Danish Modern design furniture during the late 1950's through 1970's. This kneehole dresser, which would also make a fine desk if used without it's mirror, is one of a number pieces of Danish Modern design furniture manufactured by high end furniture makers in UK at the time, all making quality teak mid-century furniture to sell within the United Kingdom at the time and, most recently, imported ... morethrough Edinburgh, Scotland by my consignor. As stated in the description of condition above, this mirrored dressing table is in very nice condition, with it's original finish and lovely wood grains and free of any major damage or issues as shown in my multiple pictures, included in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition and overall beauty of this gorgeous mid-century teak vanity or dressing table. This dresser stands 47 inches tall to the top of the mirror with a top surface height of 27 inches and measures 66 inches long by 17 inches front to back. It has seven drawers. With each of the six side drawers measuring 17 inches wide by 14 inches front to back and 3 1/4 inches, 4 1/4 inches and 5 1/4 inches deep in descending order. The large center drawer where you see the vintage Austinsuites badge is 22 inches wide and has three 6 inch deep bins along the back, with the two on the outsides each 7 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches front to back. This is a poignant Danish Modern vanity from the 1960s. The vanity is fashioned from a mixture of solid teak and teak veneer with a lovely honey-amber finish to the wood. The vanity has a unique flip-top. Making it perfectly serviceable as a modern day desk. The vanity opens to reveal a large rectangular mirror. A recessed back compartment for taller items, it features an electric outlet inside with a cord that leads thru the back with a plug on the end. A recessed channel across the front for smaller belongings. There is a removable tray made from solid teak with four dividers and a green felt lining. It seamlessly rests inside the front channel and slides back and forth for easy convenience. The piece has a simple teak header across the front with ample room for a standard size chair or stool. It retains its‘Nordisk Andels-Eksport’ label ... moreon the back. Stating this piece was manufactured in Copenhagen, Denmark. It measures 35.5” wide x 18.5” deep x 29.5” tall.
