Having ... morean elaborate faux painted wooden case, painted to look like ostrich skin, with chinoisserie style flowers, inlaid with mother of pearl, and with ormulu appointments. The dial is white enamel with ormulu surround and the ormulu pendulum is very ornate. The clock has an 8-day movement and it is in good working order, made by Chaumont of Paris, signed on the movement. The only damage I can find is a boo-boo at the base on the back of the clock. It looks like someone put a sticky label there at one time and now the faux paint is marred. Please see photo) The clock is 20" high by 10" wide by 5 1/2" deep and guaranteed to be as described. Beautifully modelled and finished in glorious ormolu(finely gilded bronze or doré bronze) It is of balloon form with bold scrolls and acanthus swags. To the top a large rococo flourish. The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard. The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The bezel is marked for the retailer Charles Hour. The French movement is of high quality and has the makers mark on the movement backplate of Louis Japy. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker and thoroughly tested before presenting it for sale. Pendulum is original. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. This Oak Victorian Gingerbread clock circa 1890's was made by the E. Ingram Clock Co. in Bristol. Con. This clock is all original. The pressed oak case still retains it's original finish and the reversed gilded glass is also original, as are the dial, hands, works and pendulum. There are no breaks or any repairs to the oak case. Exceptional French Clock in Gilt Bronze, Marble, and Porcelain - circa 1890
Here is a truly elegant French clock with great style and quality. It combines superb gilt bronze figures with a white marble base and a blue& white porcelain column which houses the fine small movement. This clock stands just under 14 inches high. The dial is 3 inches across. The pictures suggest. But do not fully show, the high quality of the bronze castings. T h e movement has be e n running well. But, as with any clock, may need some adjustment after shipping. The left rear foot is slightly different from the other 5 in that it's rim is smooth; y ou have to look underneath the clock to see this difference. Exquisite Faience& Gilt Metal Clock Set Japy Freres ~ French- Circa 1880 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A beautiful and very decorative original antique French three piece candelabra clock set. The bodies are made of faience(pottery) Very delicately decorated with scenes of a young couple in a country setting with a pale blue ground. Each piece is signed by the artist, F Perouche. One candelabrum has the gentleman reading a love letter delivered by a dove. On the other candelabrum she also reads a love letter and on the front of the clock they meet in a country park. The bodies are mounted with gilt brass in the Rococo style. The clock stands on acanthus bracket feet with a large and elaborate Rococo boat shaped urn to the top. Candelabra are conforming in style with four branches and the original snuffers. The dial is ... morestunning. Enamel on copper, delicately painted with a cherub on a pale blue ground. It is complete with original blued steel hands. The French movement is by Japy Freres and is of this makers usual high quality. The Japy Freres mark is on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. The original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The Faience is in excellent condition, there are just a couple of original firing marks and some very slight wear to the glaze on the top. The glaze has lightly crazed which only adds to its antiques appearance. The dial is also in excellent condition, no chips or scratches. Candelabra are slightly distorted. For sale. A very old Arts& Crafts Mission Oak or Maple wall clock. This is a working clock that has a strong"GONG" at every 1/2 hour. Also has full count"GONG" for any hour. I tested by tying a string to pendulum and movement and and got a report without fail. This clock has been professionally refinished with only the pine back door left untouched. I think the original owners slightly modified the bottom wood furniture as it is quite different from others I've seen on Ebay. Actually, this modification really gives this clock character. There are no scratches, dents or bumps to the wood. You will notice that the wood grain is all uniform and is a seamless match. Clock still has strong winding mechanism for setting both gong and time. Still with all original nuts, bolts and they are with heavy black patina. Pendulum ... moremovement moves and swings freely. Pendulum size is 4.5 inches in diameter. Back of pendulum is cast iron and stamped"S. CLK. CO. No.31" This old timer has an wood face that measures 13" by 13" inches. Features time and hour strike, OGEE curves to the bottom face, hand-painted red tiger wood finsh, updated movement and metal dial face from Korea which should last another 100+ years. 21" tall, 12" wide. For sale in this auction is a magnificent handmade wooden clock. Made by Gustav Becker in the 19th century in Western Europe, and which measures forty inches tall by sixteen inches wide. The clock is signed by Gustav Becker and it runs perfectly now just as it did when it was new in the 1860s. The case has had some repairs and the works have been cleaned and oiled. Up for auction is a rather rare German Art Deco Machine Age mantel clock. Circa 1920-30. Dimensions are approximately: W- 12.5" H- 10.5" D- 5.5" Maker: Unknown. The manufacturer is not label on the mechanism or case. Mechanism: The clock has an 8-day time and strike spring driven mechanism. The mechanism looks fairly clean and is in working order. The clock strikes once on the half hour and the number on the hour. The pendulum is a replacement. The case: The case is comprised of 2 different woods. Oak and I believe rosewood. Someone told me the base was teak, but I don't believe its accurate information. The case still has the original finish. Rare French Perpetual Calendar Mantel Clock Signed'Cromey. Bristol' Circa 1850 Very nice gilt bronze French Perpetual Calendar Clock with marble base. Enamel dials and the case is glazed(glass) on the sides/rear. The c lock's movement operates properly and the clock is in excellent condition. The 14 day movement strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with a Brocot dead beat escapement visible through the upper dial and a compensated pendulum of brass and steel peculiar to Ellicott's design. The gilt engraved dial mask; the upper white enamel dial with blue steel'Breguet' style hands and Roman chapter ring; the lower perpetual calendar showing: day. Date, month, equation of time, and moon phase. The numbers on the calendar dial around the inner circle indicate the difference between solar and mean time. Which shows ... morethe'equation of time' This allowed people to set their clocks by using their sundials. The movement signed'Cromey. Bristol' and numbered 31945. The calendar movement numbered 31756. The case is glazed on three sides and open to the front; multi-colored gold ormolu on a white marble base; surmounted by a'ruffled pigeon' numbered 39703. Austrian Grand sonnerie adleruhr. Which is translated as eagle clock, in very good condition for it's age. This clock also has a fully functional calendar dial. Which is a rare feature to find, on the few Adleruhr clocks, that still exist today from the first half of the nineteenth century. How it survived the two World wars in Germany is beyond me. But it has done so and must have been well protected by a prudent owner, because it is in excellent order, both mechanically and physically. Adleruhr clocks of this type were always made for the wealthy and there is similar adleruhr clock currently for sale on the Internet for nearly twice this price. Up for auction is a very rare all wooden works regulator shelf clock manufactured by Orton Preston& Co. Farmington, Conn. Circa 1820-1830. This company produced clocks only during this time frame. The clock is in very good condition. It is weight driven with two cast weights. Includes the original wind up handle. The works are all wooden with brass bushings. The top glass is original. The bottom glass has been replaced at some point. It originally would have had a reverse painting. The case is of pillar/scroll type and is 32" high x 16 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" deep. The veneer is in very good condition. There is a manufacturer's instruction sheet glued to the inside of the case which tells you how to set the clock. I do not have the key for the door. Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Clock Offering a lovely antique Seth Thomas adamantine mantle clock known as the"Tyro. This circa 1906 clock strikes a gong for the hour and a delightful cup bell for the half-hour. This clock has six fancy green metal columns. These are supported by gold colored bases and capitals. This also has gold colored Lion heads and fancy feet. The metal parts appear to have been previously painted. And done very nicely. There is gold incised decoration on the front. This also has beautiful multi-colored adamantine trim in black, green and orange. The original Seth Thomas movement was completely disassembled. This was ultra-sonically cleaned. Up for auction is a Wonderful Antique Oak Ingraham Gingerbread Mantel/Shelf Clock With an Alarm. Circa 1890-1910. The clock's dimensions are approximately; H- 21" W- 16" D- 5.5" The Case: The oak case is in good physical condition. There are no broken or chipped parts. The case retains its original finish and has a great patina with some"alligatoring" A lot of times you see these type of clocks refinished. I believe to keep them in therir original condition. A clock that is 100-120 years old should have a certain amount of"alligatoring" and"patina" to it. There is a label on the back. Its difficult to read, but says"Vesta" model. Antique Seth Thomas Adamantine Clock"Marken" Offering a rare and lovely antique Seth Thomas 8 day adamantine mantle clock which is known as the"Marken. This circa 1904 beauty. Strikes the hour on a gong and the half-hour on a delightful cup bell. The clock case has an adamantine golden oak finish. This is contrasted with mahogany columns. Trim and top. This is complimented by bronze colored lion heads, column bases and capitals and fancy feet. These metal parts appear to have been painted and appear more copper gold than bronze. The case is in very good condition with a few minor scratches and minor chips on top rear edge. The original Seth Thomas movement has been ultra-sonically cleaned. Up for auction is an antique Sessions oak kitchen style shelf or mantle clock circa 1903. The movement is marked The Sessions Clock Co. U.S.A. Forestville. Conn. The clock is 23 in. high, 15 1/4 in. wide and 4 1/2 in. deep. The back has a pressed bird or gargoyle type head decoration. This clock runs and keeps time. It gongs on the hour and the half hour.
