If you have any questions for us regarding this item. Please email us at jjdecoy antiques@live.com or give us a call at 1.207.314.9621. We look forward to talking to you! This is a beautiful mahogany tall case grandfather clock dating from what I would guess is around the 1910s. In original as-found condition. ... moreIt’s kind of a different kind of grandfather clock, because it has a set of weights and a set of chimes that are displayed behind the beveled glass door, along with a pendulum, but the clock is truthfully a key-wind eight-day movement, which they did quite often back in those days. It just looks like a really nice, expensive clock that you can buy for a really reasonable price. It’s time and strike, and has Westminster chimes. It is eight-day movement, as mentioned, that means when it’s wound up, you can let it run for eight days without rewinding. The weights and chimes are purely decorative, but the rest of the clock is very real. It has an empire colonial style case with pillars coming down the sides, a crown molded broken arch top with a center ball, which most likely had a spear on it at one time but it was removed. Behind the cutout glass door, there is a presentation tag that says it is going to a Wayne Richards from Ethel Richards, for Christmas 1917. The brass engraved face or dial has its original numerals and everything is intact and in good shape, and it does say it has a German set of works and was sold by Breitinger and Sons, Inc. out of Phi

C1920 Herschede Model 86 Mahogany Case 9 Tube Tall Case Hall Grandfather Clock
This auction is for a Herschede Model 86 Nine Tube Hall Clock. It stands a touch over 92" 7'8" I'm not an expert on Herschede clocks. But I located the following markings on the case and movement: the movement has a serial number, 11312, which from what I can find out dates the clock to 1920 or 1921. The back insert with the green fabric is marked on the frame 86 and 18. The case is marked 18 and 86 and 554(the last one is hard to read and could be wrong) The inside of the very top board of the clock is also marked 18 and 86. The face bears a small plaque indicating that it was retailed by a jeweler from Hagerstown, Maryland. The clock is fresh out of an estate. I bought it in Salisbury, MD on Saturday. It is currently running in my garage. Some of the little strings that hold the tubes need to be tightened to make the hammers ... morestrike at the correct position on the tube. There is some very minor wear/abrasions to the dial as photographed. And some very minor rust to the flimsy black pieces that hold the hammers. The interior of the movement looks very clean to me. There are some very minor scratches to the beveled glass panels. The access doors to the movement on the side as well as the larger on the rear, all retain their original green fabric, with staining and one tiny hole to one of the side panels. I have the original keys. Winder, weights, tubes, and pendulum as shown, all in good order. I am having trouble getting the main door to lock, but the side movement doors function well. Case in original finish with some scuffs and abrasions as you would expect, I have shown some in the photos. This is most noticeable along the very top of the clock, around the feet, and some minor wear around the keyhole to the main door as well. I think almost all of these could be concealed with a little bit of stain, but I'll leave that up to the buyer. I am not particularly knowledgeable about clocks so I'm sure I have probably left some information out. If you have any questions please don't hesit

Fine American Federal Inlaid Mahogany Tall Case Clock, Maryland c. 1795-1810
CHEST OF DRAWERS ANTIQUE CHAIRS TABLES BRONZE SCULPTURES FINE PAINTINGS SCHOOL OF ORIGIN SUBJECT LAMPS. LIGHTING AMERICAN FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK Probably Maryland c. 1795-1810. Over fine splayed French feet Falseplate impressed"OWEN" Works impressed and inscribed"Roskell, Liverpool" Item# 1401CWP18PF This fine example of early nineteenth century workmanship is highly impressive in proportions and workmanship. Measuring in at 104" in height. It is a piece that absolutely defines a home, setting the pace for the furnishings that may accompany it. Crafted of solid mahogany and mahogany veneers on the primary surfaces, yellow pine and poplar secondary woods on the secondary surfaces, the composition of colors is impressive and well planned. A bright and vibrant mahogany makes up the majority of the body, ... morethe door veneers slightly darker in tone to frame the bold and fiery mahogany veneer medallion in the center of the door. The hood is elongated with a stretched brow above the glazed-panel arched door. This retaining it's original hand blown glass within the tenon-mortise joined frame of the door. A thin molding frames the arch of the door over flanking tapered columns with fine bead turnings at the top. A projecting cove molding squares the top of the hood, running across the top and rising in a broken-arch scrolling pediment flanking a large vasiform finial with an acorn top. The effect is absolutely flawless, allowing the length of the clock to reach this imposing height while still maintaining perfect adherence to proportions that the eye comfortably judges as aesthetically pleasing. The white painted iron dial features a moon-phase with a ship scene and a rural cabin scene over two faded globes at the edge of the Arabic numeral minute and hour ring circling the pierced iron hands over a calendar dial. The spandrels are handsomely painted floral scenes. The face is free of any clockmaker signature and even on close examination it appears to have never had a maker sign

ANTIQUE MAHOGANY CASE CLOCK W/KEY, GLASS DOOR FRONT, 23" TALL #117MS
This is an antique mahogany case clock. I can't find a name on it. It's approximately 23" tall. It's 14-3/4" long at the longest point and 5" wide. It has the key with it. I'm not sure if it works. I don't know much of anything about clocks. I didn't want to overwind it but I was able to easily turn the keyhole on the 8 and when I swung the pendulum it ticked for a while and the hands moved a bit. I could not easily turn the keyhole on the 4, so I didn't try anymore. I don't know if possibly the brass face plate is not original because there are screws where there apparently were not screw holes. And screw holes without screws(hope that makes sense) please see photo 5. The finial on the very top has the tip of it broken, and the tip is broken off the suspended finial on the right side. On that ... moresame finial there is a piece broken off of the back, see photo 12. Please study the pictures carefully and ask questions if you have any. Thank you. Please Note: MA residents will be charged sales tax. Thank You. Domestic Shipping: We ship products using USPS. We don’t charge a handling fee. Unless the item is very large, heavy and needs special packaging materials(i.e.special large boxes, packing, padding supplies, etc. In most cases the shipping charge is the actual shipping amount.
