~ French- Circa 1880 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A very fine and substantial gilt bronze table clock by Louis Japy. It is of the the ... morehighest quality. Beautifully modelled and finished in glorious ormolu(finely gilded bronze or doré bronze) It is of balloon form with bold scrolls and acanthus swags. To the top a large rococo flourish. The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard. The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The bezel is marked for the retailer Charles Hour. The French movement is of high quality and has the makers mark on the movement backplate of Louis Japy. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker and thoroughly tested before presenting it for sale. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running! Condition of the case is excellent. Beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It ... morewas made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. You can see what looks like some"separations" in the metal but it is not damage- some pieces were cast separately. Please see the close up pictures for the best description of the cosmetic condition. Offered here is a wonderful 3 piece ornate garniture set consisting of a mantel clock and 2 matching candelabras by Imperial of Italy. This Louis XVI style lyre shaped clock is solid brass with green marble and bronze colored ormolu satyr cherub figurines. Brass garland, claw feet and scroll motifs with rooster heads. The corresponding candelabras have 6 lights around a taller center light with similar treatment. The key wind all brass 8 day movement is a German Franz Hermle 130-070 balance wheel system with 2 brass bell chimes. It is running well. Keeps good time and chimes properly. With a pleasant and bright bim-bam style. The bells chime on the hour with an hour count and once on the half hour. The 4" dial face is labeled Imperial and Made Italy. There is no damage to report and the condition is excellent. The brass is bright. The ... moremarble is clean and glossy, and the ormolu figurines have a nice vintage patina look. There are one or two candelabra lights that are not completely vertical in their orientation. But not severe. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs to the brass, marble or figurines and there are no broken or missing parts. The movement has a date code indicating this set was manufactured in 1995. All pieces have markings of a B or"Brevettato" a model number( and a foil paper label reading Made In Italy(see pics) The clock measures 24" tall to the finial x 14" wide x 7 1/2" deep. The candelabras also stand 24" tall to the top candle holder and the diameter of the 6 arms is about 11" This is a heavy set(about 40 lbs) and may need to ship in multiple cartons. Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It was made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll ... moredo my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. ANTIQUE CLOCK: French Ormolu Case. Gilt Bronze, 1800's. Great Patina,New Movement This is a wonderful Antique French Clock in the Rococo Revival Style. The case is fine ormolu. Mercury gilded bronze. I believe it dates to the 1800's. It has been fitted with a new movement and keeps perfect time. Very often these fine cases were made in France to be exported and sold in the United States. I believe this is the case with this particular clock. As it came from the estate sale of the scion of an old and prosperous Boston family. It is extremely well modeled and cast. Featuring design elements on all four sides. At first glance. These decorations seem to be symmetrical. But they are not. For example. The foliage on the front surrounding the central scallop shell is slightly different from side to side. This is true of all of the foliage ... moredecorations on all four sides of the case. This slight variation from side to side avoids the static effect of absolute symmetry, which can be deadening, even in decorative objects such as this fine clock. At the very top is a wonderful finial. Also asymmetrical, featuring what looks like a Tulip blossom. This rests on a neo-classical, fluted Doric capital. This clock is rather large. Measuring 14 1/4 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches wide at the bottom of the front feet and 4 3/4 inches deep between the front and back feet. There is no damage to this clock at all; it stands straight and secure. Some purists lament the fact that I sometimes place new movements in these beautiful old clock cases. But. As is often the case, the original movement of this clock was broken and corroded beyond all hope of repair. So my thinking is that with the new movement, this beautiful object can be returned to its functional purpose; that is, to tell the time. Which is does perfectly and beautifully. This clock has all of the charm and beauty of a 19th Century Antique Clock without any of the troublesome concerns often associated with such. And it never needs winding. I will. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, Rococo style miniature desk clock with male and female nudes, and putti, a bust as crest. The ormolu brass case has opaque green and pink cold painted enamels, the gilt dial with the numeral background in transparent baked amber enamel. The dial is marked: Sheffield, and: Swiss Made, protected by glass cover. The case measures 3" tall by 1-1/2" wide. In working order. Excellent condition: brass without dents or losses, glass and enamels undamaged.

The original ormolu pendulum depicts a basket abundant with fruit and flowers. The base of the pillars are decorated with acanthus leaves in ormolu. Below the dial is a frieze with an unusual faux jasperware panel depicting a classical maiden with a cherub. The classical urns have ormolu handles and sit on conforming serpentine bases. The dial is enamel on copper. Exquisitely decorated with floral swags ... moredelicately painted between the numbers of the dial. Hands are gilded, finely fretted brass. A beautiful and small specimen marble and ormolu(finely gilded brass or bronze) portico clock set. The marble has a lovely figure of pale pinks. Oranges reds and silver grey. It is classical in style, modelled as an ancient portico with the movement held aloft in a drum, the pendulum swinging visibly between the 6 marble columns. To the top of the clock is a nest of love birds and the pendulum is modelled as a basket of fruit abundant with fruit and flowers, allegorys for love and prosperity. The side urns are modelled as ovoid bodies held aloft by three bracket legs with classical masks and hoof feet. The dial is enamel on copper. Exquisitely decorated with floral swags delicately painted between the numbers of the dial. Hands ... moreare gilded, finely fretted brass. Each piece is stamped with Brevettato(patented) Serial No. N7087-B77 on the underside and I understand that the set was made in Italy circa 1958. Created in brass. Bronze and a marble, the set has been much loved over the years. The ornate mantel clock sits on a claw foot brass base, lavishly detailed with floral and scroll designs. There is a bronze cherub on either side of the clock, with hooved feet standing on a marble base, each pulling at the end of a‘brass grapevine intertwined rope’ which crosses under the clock’s face. Beautiful and original French Boulle and red shell mantle clock desirable size standing 16" tall. 9" wide and 5" deep. Clock shows very well with a antique patina to all brass and ormolu. Clock has not been cleaned and polished but the brass inlay has a nice warm patina and the shell has a nice deep red color which is accomplished by years of cleaning with soft rags and not harsh brass cleaners. Take note of the etching of all brass inlay which enhances the visual depth and appearance of the intricate boulle work. The face is enamel with a bronze mask and both are near perfect in condition. The front has a glass viewing panel to observe the original starburst pendulum. Both sides and front are completely covered with boulle work. It features an exquisitely detailed figure of the Greek goddess Athena seated to the top, marking the passage of time on a sundial. Athena is the goddess of heroic endeavour, wisdom, justice and the arts. The front and sides have fretted sound panels allowing the sound of the large, sonorous bell to the heard. Offered for your consideration is this very unusual antique Chinese export mantel clock. I have no experience with Chinese clocks so any help with identification would be much appreciated. From what I could determine this clock was exported at th end of the nineteenth century. I believe it has a pendulum driven movement( The clock is very nicely detail with applied ormolu embellishments including two exotic women. The door is reverse-painted with a bamboo motif. The face appears to be made of tin. It has a"star" trademark with Chinese characters and is also marked"Made in China" The clock measures 22" high to the top of the pediment(removable for shipment) 11 1/2" across and 5" deep. It is in very good estate condition with no damage, significant wear or repairs found. There is some expected wear on the ... moretin face and a small corner of one of the applied metal corners is missing(not distracting but mentioned for accuracy) A proper key is included. 1880 Sevres Porcelain Bronze Mounted Ormolu Clock Henri Picard No Reserve This listing is for a large and impressive Bronze clock with Sevres porcelain. The clock movement is marked HP&Co. I believe this clock to be made by the 19th. century clock maker Henri Picard. The clock is in running condition. But needs the usual adjustments. I have the original pendulum but I have no key. The quality of the bronze is good, although a bit worn. It has an old gold patina, but not bright. As far as the Sevres porcelain. There is a lovely hand painted scene in the front of a romantic couple. It has jewels around it, some of which are missing. There are other areas also which are missing jewels. A lot of the gold decoration on the porcelain is faded. And almost gone in some areas. It is still a nice blue color. It seems the whole piece was over cleaned. ... moreA bit of the bronze is loose on the top urn, but its there. The biggest issue with this clock is the dial. Which was cracked and repaired. The dial is nicely painted with jewels around it. It would be well worth the expense of having it professionaly restored. However it is still totally usuable in its current condition.
