This is a large and beautiful French Boulle Marquetry wall clock in very fine condition. It is of a higher and finer quality and has a 14 day time and ... morestrike movement striking on a coil gong. The dial is alabaster and measures 12 1/2 inches in diameter; the numerals are large porcelain and rest in solid brass trim plates of which all are bright polished and lacquered. The back panel and case are brass inlay in red tortoise shell separated by a very fine and decorative brass casting of which all is polished and lacquered. The dial bezel is also a very fine and decorative brass casting. The hands are original brass. Polished and lacquered. The height of the case is 26 1/4 inches, the width from side to side at the points is 25 1/4 inhes; the diameter at the hex sides is 22 1/4 inches. The box part of the case which houses the movement has been cleaned, sanded and re-lacquered in black lacquer and so the entire clock is a beautiful and very rare show stopper of unmatched beauty. Set with 12 individual enamel cartouches. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. This type of design does not have a glazed bezel to the front. Japy Freres Classical Antique Clock Set. ~ French- Circa 1880 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A superb original antique French clock set by the famous maker Japy Freres. It is classical in style. Modelled in gilt brass and featuring a large urn to the top with acanthus handles with a laurel swag between. A stylised pineapple final sits on top. To the sides are embossed panels of urns surrounded by stylised foliage. The front is polished and mounted with 1/4 spandrels and the clock sits upon hairy paw feet. Candelabra are conforming in style with 3 lights with two arms of acanthus and snuffers that sit in the central nozzle as finials when not in use. The dial is also gilt brass with 12 individual enamel cartouches. It is unusual in having a large cream enamel cartouche to the centre. It is complete with original blued steel ... morehands and convex glass fitted to the egg and dart moulded bezel. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The French movement is by Japy Freres of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. A very large and truly magnificent original antique French four glass crystal regulator clock set. It is made of the most beautiful variegated specimen marble. With salmon pink and silver grey veining, mounted with finely finished ormolu(gilded brass/bronze) It is classical in style, to the top is a large and flamboyant figure of an eagle, and to each side a beautifully depicted Greek Sphinx, all beautifully modelled and chased. The movement is mounted within the four glass case, allowing both the movement and the mercury compensated pendulum to be seen working. The side urns are equally large and well finished. This is an amazing French Portico All Marble Mantle Clock Set. This clock was made in the 1860's- 1890's in France out of the highest quality marble. And bronze decorations. All the bronze pieces were hand gilded with Gold leaf, and every piece you see on this clock is 100% original to the piece, and in 100% original condition. No one has ever attempted to restore it, or re-finish it, which is a VERY rare find with these clocks. The marble is beautiful with white, pink and grays throughout. All marble pieces are also in amazing condition and 100% original to the clock. Included are the two original urns for the clock, there is some stress damage to the bottom most and top most metal pieces from 120+ years of being used, but there solid(See pictures) You usually do not see the original garnets with one of these clocks, most of the ... moretime during the years the clock becomes separated with it's urns, or the urns get destroyed. But these are the original matches to this clock, both marked underneath in the marble with the phrase"Made in France" in the same writing as the clock. One urn has a small crack in the small topmost piece of marble, it's stable, and unnoticeable. The clock itself is absolutely amazing, with 6 tall columns of marble, and the portico style free swinging pendulum in the shape of a basket of fruit, which matches perfectly with the other baskets of fruit on both the urns, and the clock itself. There are two gilded trays on each side of the dial, in beautiful condition, a unique and expensive feature for these clocks. Stings of garland string from one side to the other in the middle of the clock with beautiful gold gilding. The panel below the dial is painted with a delightful scene of two cherubs. To the top of the clock is a cherub marking off time. It is finely modelled in gilded brass, the gilding is in excellent bright condition. The dial is enamel on copper. It is sculptured to resemble a cartouche dial and is lettered in roman numerals for the hours with a separate Arabic minute ring. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The front door has a thick glass bevel. Clock measures13-1/2" tall by 9-3/4" wide by 5-1/2" deep, the candelabra 21-1/2" tall by 8" square at bobeches. French antique garniture set Lovely 3 piece set of a vase clock with matching candelabras. The porcelain is quite thin and has a matt bisque finish. There are flowers hand painted on it. The white color is enameled paint. The main color is a lovely deep sea blue/green. The flowers on it make it even nicer. I have never seen a set like this. Made around 1880-1900. The ornaments are partly made of brass and partly made of bronze. All the ornaments are original and in good. Antique condition, with only minor wear. The porcelain is also in very good condition, with no cracks. The clock dial is made of enamel. It does have some minor damage to it, look at the photo for the details. A fantastic three piece mixed marble cased clock and garniture set with spelter figural adornments. The clock case measures 17.25" long and is 13.75" high to the top of the lady's head. The spelter figures have no cracks. Breaks or repairs. There is something missing from the lady's right hand- there is a small tube that held something- perhaps a bouquet. There is a chip to the tip of the white triangular piece of marble near the base. The brass works are unmarked except for the numbers 16500 and 38. The clock winds and runs. The chime works. There is no pendulum so I don't know if it keeps time. Two footed garnitures are in excellent condition. Finely modelled and well finished in gilt brass. To the front a blind fretted panel features a depiction of a man in medieval attire with a mythical winged lion and a flaming urn. To the sides, the panels are decorated with stylised mythical birds and flying buttresses. The clock sits on bracket feet with pieced scroll work in between. Candelabra have matching bases and four lights, decorated with stylised birds and foliage. The lovely rope pattern bezel is unusual in being silvered which contrasts nicely with the gilt brass. It is decorated in a rich blue glaze. Highlighted with gold gilt and comes with the matching candlesticks. It has a Samuel Marti movement with enamel dial. It dates from the 19th Century and measures approximately 10 + ¼ inches tall by 7 + ½ inches across the mask handles by 3 + ¼ inches front to back. The candlesticks measure 6 inches tall by 3 + ¾ inches square across the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks in the body of the clock or sticks, just one small chip along the edge of the glass door on the front of the clock, along with a couple hairlines in the dial of the movement, as can be seen in the photos. Garniture pieces are about 4 3/4" tall x 4 1/2" wide x 2 1/2" deep; weigh about 4 pounds 12 ounces combined. This set is vintage and shows some signs of age. The clock does wind ok. Mechanism seems to run and keep time. Hands look good and move easily, key works, door swings fine and looks great, is a little saggy when opened. The base piece of marble under the clock has clearly been broken and glued, see photos. No other glaring damage to the clock piece, minor ... morechips, minor signs of wear. The side pieces both show a little character, one has a filled void on top back, but they look nice overall, minor chipping and dings but that is about it. See 12 photos, thanks! GORGEOUS FIGURAL ART DECO FRENCH 3PC GARNITURE CLOCK SET A most striking French art deco bronze figural lady"Harlequin" clock with two matching garnitures. The aged marble still exhibits beauty and lustre after all these years. The overall condition is very good with minimal marble edge nicks with a repair to one of the garnitures(see close up pic) The clock is marked Made in France and is very clean with an almost flawless dial. Although clock is working and we take the utmost care in packaging to insure safe delivery nevertheless due to the harsh nature of shipping it is possible the clock may need adjusting or service to function properly upon arrival. The little deco lady Harlequin figure is we believe solid bronze body with very interesting celluloid arms. Hands and head. She is not original to this clock but is a perfect complement ... moreto it. She is securely mounted to clock top with stable earthquake wax which will afford us easy removal for safer packaging.
