It is in the style of Louis XVI and is beautifully modelled in gilded brass. It is modelled as an acanthus wreath in which the dial is placed with a bow above. Japy Freres Classical Antique Clock Set. ~ French- Circa 1880 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A superb original antique French clock set by the famous maker Japy Freres. It is classical in style. Modelled in gilt brass and featuring a large urn to the top with acanthus handles with a laurel swag between. A stylised pineapple final sits on top. To the sides are embossed panels of urns surrounded by stylised foliage. The front is polished and mounted with 1/4 spandrels and the clock sits upon hairy paw feet. Candelabra are conforming in style with 3 lights with two arms of acanthus and snuffers that sit in the central nozzle as finials when not in use. The dial is also gilt brass with 12 individual enamel cartouches. It is unusual in having a large cream enamel cartouche to the centre. It is complete with original blued steel ... morehands and convex glass fitted to the egg and dart moulded bezel. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen. The rear door and the floor of the case are also decorated with Boulle work. The Ormolu mounts(Doré Bronze or fine gilded brass/ bronze) are finely modelled and crisply chased with a lovely clean and bright original gilding. This is the second of two beautifully carved antique Black Forest eagle items removed from the same home. In addition to displaying well. This is a very useful clock or vase bracket, which was still in daily use over 100 years after being made! This bracket measures 21 inches in height and the glass eyed eagle has a wingspan of 20 inches. The platform is 17 inches wide and 8 inches in depth. So can support a large bracket clock. I'm sure my photos describe this better than I am able to and all I need add, is that there is no damage or repair, despite it's great age. This is an antique French Picture Frame clock. The frame of the clock is 18 3/4inches by 18 ¾ inches.And is in a Louis XV style. There are porcelain cartouche numbers held with bronze. The face of the clock is signed but we can not make out the name. We have not seen the back of the movement, so we do not know if it is signed. This clock dates circa 1880. The case is in very good condition. The dial has two small hairlines near the key holes. The clock winds properly(not over wound) but we were not able to get it to keep time for long. Large Antique French Brass Clock by Samuel Marti ~ French- Circa 1880 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled ~~. A large Baroque clock of excellent quality by the famous maker Samuel Marti. It is beautifully made of brass with hairy paw feet. An armorial bearing to the front with Lions Rampant and mythical creatures to the sides. The front has sound frets backed with red velvet that also help to lighten the design. To the top is a large and elaborate urn with mythical creatures as the handles. The large and impressive dial is enamel on copper with a brass centre and blued steel hands. The French movement is by Samuel Marti and has the maker's mark on the backplate. It is of excellent quality and is in superb clean and running condition having been fully overhauled and tested by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. Very fine Mantle Clock circa 1880. FRENCH COUAILLET FRERES movement. 11 Jewels. Face has the SHREVE CRUMP& LOW, Boston name. Mahogany cabinet, brass plate on the back. This clock does not have the face crystal or the key to wind it. The hands are solidly on, no looseness or wiggle. The clock appears to be ready to work with winding- a bit of hand-winding brought movement to the gears, which sounded clean and ticked evenly. This will be packed for you very carefully, with nothing resting on the face to avoid disturbing the hands.

Beautifully modelled and finished in glorious ormolu(finely gilded bronze or doré bronze) It is of balloon form with bold scrolls and acanthus swags. To the top a large rococo flourish. The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard. The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The bezel is marked for the retailer Charles Hour. The French movement is of high quality and has the makers mark on the movement backplate of Louis Japy.
