Here is a fine 19th Century Second Empire gilt metal and brass eight day table regulator clock. The façade of the clock features foliate decoration ... moreand volute feet on the lower portion. A male figure stands on the raised ground next to the movement casing holding a small bouquet. The white enamel dial features Roman numeral s and Brequet-style. Blued steel hands for the hours and the minutes. Above the X11 are two letters- R/A. This is a secondary fine timing adjustment. The letter R means retard or to slow it a bit and A indicates avance or to speed up just a bit. There is a slight scratch on the dial which extends just over the V1 chapter on the dial. The time and single bell movement is visible on the reverse. The movement also features a brass bob detachable gridiron pendulum which can be adjusted as well to fine tune the accuracy of the movement. The back plate features the makers stamp and movement numbers in addition to an additional stamp for La Croix de la Legion d'Honneur which he was awarded for his contributions to Horology. The top center of the dial bears the name of the clockmaker and noted horologist Constantin- Louis Detouche(1810- 1889) Constantin was the head of The House of Detouche who were on the forefront of French Horology by combining artistic elegance with scientific precision. The dial has an abbreviation-Fseur which means fournisseur or provider as he was appointed as the official clockmaker to The City of Paris and to the Emperor Napoleon III as well as the Croix de Danneborg by the King of Denmark. During the mid 19c The House of Detouche presented at many Horological and Industrial Expositions where they would submit their latest and technologically advanced and complicated creations. This clock measures 11"x 11" x 5" and overall 14" x 14" x 8 ½" in a period. Ebonized oval wood base with a glass dome. The french 8 day time and strike suspension spring anchor movement is stamped AD MOUGIN with silver bell. No damage or repairs to the clock. Engine turned dial with outer porcelain chapter ring and french moon hands. Clock keeps excellent time. Great detail to the gilt bronze mounts depicting a sunburst. Cherub, and flora decorations. This is a beautiful Empire gilt/dore bronze and red marble clock around 1800-1849 made in France. it uses a French movement with silk suspension. It works perfectly fine and keep a exact time, The red marble case has few small chips on the edges and one large in the back right side corner. The top cherub is made of BRONZE as well with a very nice dark patina, his details are impressive. He was supposed to have two flutes in his hands that are no longer there. A very nice working order antique. Circa 1840, portico mantel clock. The clock is rosewood veneered, with scrolling marquetry and string inlays. The cornice is with an original ivory color paint. The column bases and capitols, and the dial frame, are ormolu bronze. The dial is engine turned metal, possibly silver, with black enamel numerals. It is in working order: tells the time, gong chimes the hours and halves. The clockworks are unmarked, probably French. It has the original ormolu brass pendulum. No key included, will accept an American key. Clock measures 18-1/2" tall by 9-1/2" wide by 5" deep. Very good condition: original finishes. Small chip to the top edge of the cornice(see photo. The base is probably missing a molding around, and the ball or bun feet.

Circa 1860- Extremely rare French Patinated Bronze Clock depicting Athena holding her Spear and Shield on a Rouge marble base. The clock stands 27.5 inches tall and 12 inches wide at the base. The Spear is removable and finely cast. The 6 inch dial has Roman Numeral cartouches and the detail to the shield is exceptional. Life like scene of Medussa's head with snakes as her hair turning anyone into stone who looks into her eyes. The zodiac calendar symbols are laid out on the outer rim of the shield. There is a Sphinx on the top of Athena's Helmet as well. The clock retains its original French 8 day time and strike movement stamped L Marti& Cie Medaille De Bronze and original hands as well. Antique French Movement for Portico/Empire Clock
Up for auction is antique French movement for portico clock. Manufactured as I believe around 1840. The movement has nice porcelain dial in good condition(all white spots are reflections) the dial has some small chips on the edge under number 6; I think that these chips will be fully or mostly covered by ring(bezel) where the movement has to be install. There are also small chips around keyholes, practically invisible. The movement was professionally cleaned and oiled. The mainsprings were changed and now it looks very clean(shining) and works perfectly- it runs and strikes on the hours and half hours. The diameter of the pan is approximately 4 7/8" The dial itself is approximately 4 1/4" The movement comes with the key. No pendulum. I have the pendulum for the portico clock on Ebay now. Antique French Empire Style four column Portico Clock with inlay
This French Empire portico clock is 17 5/8 inches tall. 8 5/8 inches wide and 5 inches deep. It is brown and black lacquered and has exotic wood inlay in classical style. The columns are wood and on the top and bottom have ornate stamped metal ends. The clock has a porcelain face and has a bronze or gilt medal facing surrounding the porcelain face. We believe the movement is an 8 day time and strike. The clock will run but does not run consistently. The chimes are working. We do not know the maker as the movement is not signed. This dates circa 1890. There are some cracks in the porcelain around 7:00 to 9:00. There is some wear to the black lacquer finish on the top of the case and on the back at the base it is warped. The inlay is somewhat discolored and may just need some cleaning.

I am listing a stunning Bronze gilded Marble clock and matching marble candleabra's. I received this set from a good friend who does architectural salvage. He found these pieces in a house in St. Louis Missouri while he was doing clean out salvage prior to tearing down the house. With that mentioned the pieces were covered with a layer of dust which I have cleaned the best I could. The clock weighs 22 pounds and does have a couple defects, it is missing 4 bronze column accent pieces has minor corner chips no key so it is untested. Fantastic 19th Century Antique French Empire Onyx& Gilt Bronze Clock Case Fresh out of a local estate and up for bids is this fantastic white onyx clock case with gilt bronze applied decorations. This piece dates to sometime around the mid 19th Century. The case measures approx 10.5" tall(not including the finial) and is 9" wide at the base. It weighs a hefty 16 lbs. The gilt bronze work is superb featuring full three dimensional serpentine stylized birds of prey. Some work has been done to the clock. The original movement was removed and replaced with a modern day battery operated quartz movement. The hands have also been replaced. The case is in overall very good condition with no chips or cracks but the top adornment has separated and needs to be reattached. What might appear to be a crack in the case is simply the natural ... morevariegation of the color of the stone. There are four holes at each corner of the top where there was some type of bronze decoration at one time. The rear door glass is cracked. Here is a Old Antique Marble. Brass& Bronze French Empire Portico Clock with Eagle on top, c.1900. This will need some work by a professional. The time advances too fast(10 minutes= 30) The bell strikes every 1/2 hour, but this also needs to be adjusted to the correct number of strikes. The enamel face has chips around the winding holes. There is one chip in the marble, at the bottom front of the base. The two back feet corroded somehow, however, they are still adjustable for leveling. I do not have a winding key for this, and I used a 5mm socket for winding. Even with these flaws, it is still a beautiful timepiece for display. It measures 8 1/2" across at the base and approximately 15 3/4" tall. It is in good overall condition. Please view all of the photos carefully before bidding. French Cartel Clock. C. 1870. The piece is made of solid gilded bronze, and weighs about 30 lbs. The piece is likely non-functional, and I have no key or pendulum. The exterioenr of complete, with an even patina throughout. There are light cracks to the enamel dial, and much of the paint within the numerals has worn off. There is a small chip to the beveled glass plate covering the face in the extreme perimeter. It is hard to detect. There is wear to the back plate, but nothing significant. The clock measures 27.5" tall. 13" wide, and extends about 4" from the wall. The bell chimes properly. SHI

The 3 ½ by 9 ½ inch slate base suffered a mishap many years ago and broke into two pieces. This ... morebase has been firmly reattached, leaving a large chip to the front edge. At the top are three finely detailed gilt bronze finials and this clock measures 17 inches to the top of the center one. The basket of flowers finial on the right is missing the top two flowers. On the convex enameled face is the maker’s name, Mulotin a Reims” There is a chip to the left hand key hole. Both springs are still strong and when I attached the original sunburst pendulum, this clock began to work. Since it is missing its original glass dome, it is going to need a proper cleaning and possibly an adjustment to keep good time once again. I advanced the minute hand and although it said two o’clock, it rand eight times. It also strikes on the half hour.
