Beautifully modelled and finished in glorious ormolu(finely gilded bronze or doré bronze) It is of balloon form with bold scrolls and acanthus swags. To the top a large rococo flourish. The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard. The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The bezel is marked for the retailer Charles Hour. The French movement is of high quality and has the makers mark on the movement backplate of Louis Japy. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker and thoroughly tested before presenting it for sale. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running! Condition of the case is excellent. Beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. This Sèvres and gold-gilt bronze clock stands 22 inches high. 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep near its base. It has been on my mantel for about fifteen years and adds incredible beauty to my dining room. The clock uses a S. Marti et Cie. mechanism which dates between 1867 and 1889. The clock has been checked and lightly cleaned by a professional clock maker and is in excellent and accurate working condition. MECHANISM- The clock has an 8-day bell-striking movement which is stamped“ S. Marti et Cie” in the center with“ Medaille de Bronze” in a circle around it. Samuel Marti was awarded ... morethe Bronze Medal in 1860. The mechanism and the pendulum have the same serioal number. This is very fine and original French 19 th century repeating carriage clock by eminent maker Alfred Drocourt of Paris. France circa 1880. It is in working condition and comes with the original key. It has an 8 day striking and repeating movement with the original platform lever escapement. There is an enamel dial with Roman numerals which is set within a well and engraved around the dial. There is substantial gilt brass case with reeded columns and plain capitals. It is 8 inches tall including handle that lifts or flattens. The clock bears the trademark of Drocourt between the plates of the movement. This clock is numbered 26092. And it has glass on the top and 3 sides so that you can see the clock works. Following is the information provided to me about it at the time I purchased it from him. The general condition is quite good with areas of ageing as to be expected for such an old time piece. The Glass Window is in fine condition. I was told that the lower panel is painted. But I’m really not sure if it is painted or if it is some sort of beautiful decal because it is applied from the inside of the glass. When you touch it with door open, you can feel it. Regardless, it is really lovely! The Pendulum and Key are original. The Dealer based the Clock’s age on two facts. First that he feels that the Dial is Painted. I think the face is probably Tin or maybe some other Metal. He told me that the Painted Dial was a rare art which stopped at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. Also. There is some sort of‘scribble’ at the bottom that seems to read 4 05. I also see the letter“M” so perhaps it is either the maker or artist’s signature. I really do not know. We would the clock and can hear some ticking(very short lived) However we were unable to make the chime work. We would hope that with a little tender loving care this could be brought right back to its original glory with no problem. The clock itself is made of slate inlaid with green malachite accents. There are also some engraved gilded vine and berry accents. The door on the back, opens to the movement, which is pierced metal with cloth behind it for ventilation, and to keep foreign bodies out of it. All of these small details come together to make a stately piece. The dimensions of this are approx. 13 1/2" x 9" x 6 1/2" There are some chips and dings. Most of which are smaller that a sunflower seed, however the right front corner of the top has a decent size chip/crack in it(about the size of a postage stamp) All of that aside, with a little TLC this would be a great addition to any room. Cherub at top was originally holding an arrow. It is in great shape except for two small chips in clock face porcelain. I had the gold professionally cleaned. But it needs to be done again. We bought it in Haiti in the 90's and had it put back together, it was in pieces. All pieces are original.

VINTAGE GOLD FILIGREE FLORAL PORCILANE DIAL CLOCK - GERMANY
Here is a beautiful little wind up clock that works and the winding key comes with it. The 2 1/2 inch clock dial has what appears to be hand painted flowers around the outer edge and it has"GERMANY" printed right under the key hole which is where the 6 would be. It measures 7 1/2 inches x 5 inches x 2 1/2 inches and is a desk or mantel clock or it can be hung on the wall. Very detailed brass workmanship really stands out along with decorative weights and chains and the pendulum swings as the clock ticks. Buyer pays shipping and handling.
