And it comes complete with cobwebs, estate dirt, and everything else associated with old, undisturbed, primitive things. It is big! The box part is 25 ½” by 10 ¾” at the top edge. It is 4 ½” deep. The total height to the top of the handle is 6 ½” So we’re talking about a large tote. Weight = 5 ½ lbs. I managed to get two or three pictures before almost freezing to death. And I know who’s to blame. It’s the person who invented the chill factor. I knew it was 3° outside, but my smart phone said it“felt like” 10° below zero. We didn’t have all this“wind-chill factor” horse pucky back when I was a pup. We looked at the thermometer, and if it said it was 3°, we knew to bundle up. It has beautiful engravings on the side and base. The back has a circle opening which gives you access to the working parts of the clock and the pendulum swing. It does come with 3 keys, two large ones and a small one. The clock works and has a beautiful chime when it hits the hour, and half hour. The wood is chipped in some spots and the face has some cracking. The paint also seems worn down a bit. This is a very beauiful antique wood carving that is marked on the back"Gustav Becker- Holzsohnitzer- Berghausen- Hauptstr. 80" I purchased this piece many. Many years ago, and it has been packed away in my closet, in my smoke-free home. It depicts a lovely country scene of a water mill that is very intricately carved in bas relief 3D. I am not sure what kind of wood this is, but it is very heavy and dense. The original wood color can be seen behind the painted"Gustav Becker" in the back The piece weights close to 3 pounds. It measures 15-3/8 inches wide(390 mm) and is 1-1/4 inches high(32mm) at it's highest point. There is a very old circular hanger on the back. Also on the back, there is a V shaped marking, as well as 2 very small nail holes. This may have been made if the carving was part of a clock, which I believe ... moreit was. The piece appears to be stained with different shades of brownish colors, as well as the green and white water that is coming from the bottom of the mill. There is some minor flaked paint along the upper right side, and there is a very small hairline crack along the right side rim(which I have shown in my pictures. Antique Vintage Painted Craftwood Miller French Period Wood Clock w/ Key
Hi. You are looking at a rare Craftwood Miller Clocks French Period clock that has been refurbished and painted. It has been precisely painted and I do not see any flaws in the painting. The front has been painted gold with a green clock face. The numbers and center are painted white and even the eyes at the top are painted red. The back is painted green and I believe the back plate has been painted a different color from the original as well. There is some damage to the maker's plate but it is all readable. There is a loss of paint to the back plate. There are what appear to be cracks throughout but they were simply by design for looks and do not go all the way through. The key winds up the clock properly but it sometimes needs a boost to start up. The minute hand is loose and needs adjusting often. It may need a replacement minute hand. ... moreIt has been wound up multiple times and it seems to function properly otherwise. The slow/fast function seems to work properly as well, though the plate has a large bend across the top so the lever does not fit through the slot properly. antique French inlaid wood clock Made in France with convex glass
Here is an unusual table top(or mantle) wood cased clock that was Made in France I believe the wood is inlaid. But I am no expert when it comes to wood. Overall it is in excellent condition. And measures about 9 5/8" high, 8" wide at the base of the brass legs. The only markings I found on it were"Made in France" on the back of the movement. As well as the numerals I show you in the pictures above. The clock is in working order. And does not use a pendulum or need a key. As you can see in the back the winder is part of the movement itself. On the very top of the movement is that wheel that spins back and forth just like a watch. The clock works fine. But I cannot attest to the timing of it. There are some nice accenting brass ball finials on top. And all four legs are made of brass as well. There are two pillars in the ... morefront that have brass finials on top and bottom I am quite sure the dial is porcelain. But I cannot be sure. I have tried looking for any cracks or breaks in it but I could not find any, so that makes it even more difficult to determine if it is porcelain. The hands look like brass. And the convex glass in front. the glass is surrounded by a brass frame. The casing on the bottom right is a little loose. A small bit of glue will hold it well. But I will leave that to you. You can also see on the right side there is a small sliver/piece of wood that is missing. Not that noticeable but I thought I would point it out just the same. G. B. GESCHUTZT DEPOSE ANTIQUE GERMAN WALL CLOCK PORCELAIN and WOOD This clock was purchased in Germany in the mid 1950's by my in-laws. And was already considered an antique. Not sure of it's exact age. The mark in back shows: G.B. possible short for Gustav Becker, but can't be 100% sure. The body of clock is solid wood. With dark antique stain. The face of clock is made of white porcelain. With dark blue checker design. It has key for winding. Clock works if slightly tilted off balance. The face has crack going in three different directions. Someone with skill can probably fill those in. Measures: 14" overall. Face is: 10" x 10" square.

This is a nice antique late 19th early 20th century weighted wood wall clock with beehive carvings on the bottom and the back has a mark that appears to be the letter A inside what looks like the Star of David. Up for auction is a very old Fargo Waterbury Shelf Clock. It is an 8 day Spring Strike and strikes on the hour and 1/2 hour. It measures approx 22 inches high and the base is approx 4 1/2 inches deep and 15 inches long. There is a tiny pies of wood off near the top in the back. Antique Victorian Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Mantle Clock - Wood & Brass
A beautiful Victorian clock is up for your consideration. This must have been one exquisite clock when it was brand new as the beauty still shows. It was made by the Gilbert Clock Co. out of Winsted. Conn. USA. There is a paper sticker on the back which reads L. J. Diehl Jeweler and Optician and a pencil mark which reads either 1914 or 1915. This may have been the place of purchase or may have been there for maintenance or repair. On the bottom of the clock is a paper sticker as well which tells the manufacturer and the word FRANCE which may be the style name. The clock is large and heavy measuring 15-1/2" long at the base, stands 11-1/2" and the depth is 6" The clock is made primarily of black wood with a maroon marble color wood both above and below the pillars in front. It has brass legs, pillar trim, side handles and the ... moretrim around the clock face. There is scroll work on the front bottom and hopefully you can see that in the third picture. The clock will run for a couple minutes and stop, maybe it has been over wound. It does ding once on the half hour and dongs on the hour, two times for two o'clock, three times for three o'clock and so on. The clock mechanism itself looks fine and reads Gilbert Clock Co. and there is a 1905 imprint, perhaps the year it was made. Bascially the clock is in good condition for its age but there is no glass clock face cover and there is no key for winding. Thank you for looking.

It is about 3” Deep and Measuring at the bottom, it is about 3 ½” Deep. It is in fairly good working order although it does seem to lose about 10 to 15 minutes in a 24 to 30 hour period of time. I bought it as an objet d’art to display on a bookshelf so I rarely wound it. I was always afraid of over-winding it but on occasion would wind it about ... more11 turns and it would then work for about 30 hours. I purchased it from a Dealer in England a number of years ago. Following is the information provided to me about it at the time I purchased it from him. The general condition is quite good with areas of ageing as to be expected for such an old time piece. The Glass Window is in fine condition. I was told that the lower panel is painted. But I’m really not sure if it is painted or if it is some sort of beautiful decal because it is applied from the inside of the glass. When you touch it with door open, you can feel it. Regardless, it is really lovely! The Pendulum and Key are original. The Dealer based the Clock’s age on two facts. First that he feels that the Dial is Painted. I think the face is probably Tin or maybe some other Metal. He told me that the Painted Dial was a rare art which stopped at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. Also. There is some sort of‘scribble’ at the bottom that seems to read 4 05. I also see the letter“M” so perhaps it is either the maker or artist’s signature. I really do not know. The cabinet is composite.The main frame parts of the case are made of guilt bronze.Walls are made of wood panels with well engraved and gilt floral pattern décor applied over matte Bleu du Roi lacquer background. Just digits on the back plate.This mechanism may be French, British,German or Austrian. 8 days mechanism is of the type that would be manufactured in late XIX century. Pendulum is marked with stamp 1895 very likely this is the in the year of manufacture.The Key is apparently British. The wooden case is in pretty good shape too. Matte blue finish in great shape with just a few minor scratches. The round(roulant) time and strike 8 days movement is complete and it is in perfect working condition. Antique Sunburst Starburst French Wall Clock Gilt Wood Frame
This is a great antique clock dating from approx. 1900. I believe the origin to be France. The clock frame is a sunburst design constructed of gilt wood. The clock face is metal and enameled. There is a crack in the enamel of the face between the 9 and 10. The frame itself is in very good condition. There are 2 pieces of the starburst missing. 7 pieces are not attached but I have 5 of them so 2 spears would have to be reconstructed. At some point. The movement was removed and replace with a battery operated movement. Please see pics. Overall, I would classify this as very good condition. It will make an impressive statement in any decor. Hettich(or Hettish) made in Germany Circa 1860 It is a beautiful art piece- carved. Two kinds of wood, inlaid with mother of pearl These inlays show fantastic skill! The crack seems to blend into the beautiful. Natural grain of the wood, the grain going in the same direction of the crack. This is natural for antiques to have some minor cracking, as the wood ages it expands and contracts. Metal frame around face is gold toned. But some has worn off. Face has normal antique age discoloration here and there. The glass has no chips. Cracks or scratches The framed glass front opens for you to wind the clock. Superb Antique New Haven Carved Pierced Gothic Wood Tramp Art Mantle Chime Clock
Up for auction is a fantastic antique New Haven clock in a handmade wood Tramp Art case. Very fine. Intricate detail. Cathedral form with four spires, pierced and layered detail throughout, checkered roof. Dial appears to be celluloid with a brass bezel. Beautiful workmanship. In good condition with small areas of damage here and there. The tip top of the clock is chipped on both front and back, two of the protrusions along the top are chipped, one chip to the front under the dial, one chip to the scalloped edge bordering the dial, looks like one repair to the pierced area below the dial to the lower left, one split to the roof, one chip to the roof, one chip to the top corner of the openwork near the back spire, other normal signs of age. Up for auction is an antique Sessions temple style mantle or shelf clock in a medium toned wood. This clock is 10 3/4 in. high. 15 1/2 in. wide and 6 1/4 in. deep. The face is marked Made By The Sessions Clock Co. Forestville, Conn. U.S.A. The movement is marked similarly. The pendulum is marked with an S. This attractive looking clock runs and keeps good time. It gongs on the hour and the bell rings on the half hour. There is some light scratching on the center of the glass door. The back door isn't all original and the side handles are missing. The case has some small punch marks which are visible in the pictures. This is still a nice clock that displays well. Please look at all the enlarged pictures as they are part of the description.
