Vintage 1948 Pictorial Comic Illustrated Map Yellowstone National Park 16" Nice
Here is a very nice example of the" Pictorial Map" featuring Yellowstone National Park in Wyomig. The map is dated 1948. Several maps of Yellowstone were printed in the pictorial/historical genre during the 1940's-1960's era. I think this is one of the better ones. This map is in SUPER NICE CONDITION with no real issues at all. The colors are like new. There are no blemishes. Krinkles, dog ears, abrasions, yellowing, browning, or water stains on this map. Along the lower right edge of the outer border is a tiny tear of about 1/8" which is every difficult to see. The map is 16" square. So it is a nice size for framing and display. It is originally folded in 8ths. The folds are sharp with virtually no printing loss; ever so slightly worn- nothing that would show on its own. The map is more than pictorial in theme. ... moreIt was printed to be a comic or whimsical rendition of the park. It could also be considered a historical map. It is profusely illustrated with figures. Map was in the Yellowstone National Park Superintendent's Report to the Department of Interior and Congress. Map size is about 18 by 19.5 inches. The map does not show the park portion that is west of the 111th longitude or north of the 45th parallel. Yellowstone Park Forest Reserve to the east of the park is shown. Yellowstone park Forest Reserve is now part of the Shoshone National Forest. The folding map is in very good condition. There are several tape repairs to the back. Mainly at the four corner fold points and the one fold line where it was attached to the book. Some of these repairs were not made with archival tape. 1981 Map of Yellowstone National Park by Dept. of the Interior(r13) Here is a look at Yellowstone National Park and surrounding areas as they were nearly 33 years ago. Please be aware that the Road Maps I sell are anywhere from 10 to 90 years old. They are printed on paper that is mostly not acid free and in most cases have not been stored in the best way. So some of the maps you are buying will be in a condition that reflects both of these facts. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders and fold lines of the maps may also have tears. On occasion maps may smell musty from the way they have been stored in the past. When the map is kept in an open area the musty ... moresmell will fade away in time. Any damage that is above and beyond the norm will be disclosed. Payment through Paypal only. Payment is required within four days. I do combine multiple purchases for shipping.
