Movement for Antique French Portico Clock
Up for auction is very hard to find and beautiful movement for antique French portico/empire clock. Manufactured in France as I believe around 1830. The movement has a nice metallic dial in a good condition and beautiful gilded bronze bezel. The movement was professionally cleaned and oiled, mainsprings were changed and now the movement is very clean and works perfectly- it runs and strikes in the hours and half hours. The outer diameter of the gilded bronze bezel is a little more than 5" approximately 5.1" The shipping cost in 48 continental states is $19 with insurance and tracking number. It is in good condition. I have no idea if it works as I am always scared to wind these to test, so I don't. The clock face is in good shape, original glass cover. It is marked Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. On the back plate it is marked with this. Last patent date is 1894 for this one. Then you see the other Waterbury mark. Clock face is about 1 15/16ths ins. approx. I liked the little bird down here. I believe this is brass with a brass finish. The clock does not have the clear glass face cover. This is easily replaceable. It also does not have the end knob to set the clock time. This is also easily replaceable. Currently. Sessions Clock Company Antique Mahogany 8-Day Mantel Clock - Original - 1908!
Antique Sessions Mantel Clock This is a great example of a Sessions 8-day Mantle Clock. It was made circa 1908. It is in GREAT condition. The clock has all of its original parts. Movement, case, rear door, etc. The movement works great! It has a signed"Sessions Clock Co" 8 day time and strike movement(see picture) which chimes on a bell once on the half-hour and on the hour it counts the hours with a very mellow tone on a cathedral gong. It has a solid mahogany wood case with colored inlayed wood design on the front faded by over 100 years, but still can be seen(see pictures) Its model name is the"Plymouth" The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The case is in very good condition. Very few blemishes at all. see picture) The mahogony case is made with a simple but beautiful classic design with a finish that has ... morea beautiful aged patina. All the screw holes in the back line up perfectly indicating all parts are original. Even the original back! The hands are also original! The cream tinted porcelain dial is signed Sessions and the original bezel is solid brass! The numbers and lettering are very crisp and not worn at all. Also. The dial is easy to read even from a distance. There are age hairline cracks in the porcelain that really looks antique. The original paper label is still on the inside of the back door. The back door is also original and fits nicely. The dial has a special place where you can set the time to slow and fast using the key– at the number 12(see picture) This way you don’t need to take the clock down off the mantle in order to make fine adjustments to the movement as to slow and fast. Complete with a Sessions pendulum(maybe original) and a double-ended key– one side to wind the clock and the other to adjust the speed. We have up for sale a nice old German shelf clock. Has been running in our house. There is no glass on face. There is paint scuffs on case and looks like the little knob on top of case has been reglued. On back of case there is a label saying Teutonia Clock Manufactory. Under trademark shows Made in Baden. Under that is the word Warranted, then P.H.S, then it is numbered(can make out only 351) The P.H.S stands for Phillip Haas& Sohn. There is another label at the top on back of case saying(name) Jeweler and Silversmith established(unreadable) then Hemel Hemstead. There is small damage to the wood on case where this label is(as shown in pic) On the movement there is a mark with P.H.S with a rabbit above it. Comes with pendulum and key. This clock is in good antique condition with some damage and wear that is described below. All of the dore bronzework is beautifully patinated and we guarantee that the metal is bronze. Not spelter or some other base metal. The gilding shows a very small amount pitting and tarnishing consistent with its age. The only damage we note on the bronzework is that we can see that there were originally 5 flowers in the crown. One of the two marble pillars shows a repair(see photos) There is also minor staining of the marble. The eight day time only clockworks with a silk thread suspension do not show any maker’s marks. It's a nice example of this model. The mahogany case is in good shape for it's age and still retains the original finish. Most everything on this clock appears to be original too, including the painted dial, hands, bezel, glasses and makers label. This model has gilt lines around the case that have become worn in a couple ... morespots near the lower door.The signed 8 day time only movement is also original to the case. Upon inspection, it appears that the movement was recently cleaned but the previous owner. I oiled the mainspring and all pivots. It is running very well and keeping good time. I will note that the escape wheel pivot is showing some wear. It is not effecting the running of the clock but may need to be addressed in the future.About 21" tall by 14" wide. Seth Thomas used their won dating system which shows this clock as being made in June of 1914.I will start this at $175 with best offers being accepted. Antique Marble Clock on Wooden Base-Made in Germany-Early 20th Century?
This is an original vintage clock made primarily of marble(I think) surrounding the clock workings and on a wooden painted base. There is a mother of pearl type cover to the center of the Roman Numerals on the dial. Also. There is a key that allows you to wind the clock at a hole in the face- it is like an old skate key and winds to the left. It does work and keeps time, losing about 5 minutes or so every couple days. I could find only one marking on the clock that says"MADE IN GERMANY" in tiny print on the metal rim below the Roman Numeral VI inside the glass face. The size is 15" long(base) by 9-1/2" tall and 5-1/2" wide(base) It is very heavy weighing over 10 pounds. The look of this clock makes me think it is from the Art Deco period but I cannot substantiate this other than via my instincts. Condition is very fine although there is natural wear and tear over the years(mainly to the paint on the wooden base. Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It was made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. Description Think of how this antique wall clock will look decorating your home or office! Looks like everything is here. brass key. This big clock measures 24.5" tall and 12" across the top of the front. The case is about 4.75" deep. I don't know anything about clocks. This one will run for a minute or so when the pendulum is given a gentle nudge. The clock spring and chime spring are wound tight. You can get the clock fixed or just use it as a decorator piece amid your antiques. It's an eye-catcher. Or salvage the parts here if you're in the clock business. Clock is missing a piece of wood from the bottom of the gallery at ... moretop right that's 2.25" long and is up to.75" wide. Fortunately. This isn't very noticeable. See photos. Wooden staff on pendulum was been broken long ago and a 19th Century repair stitched it back together with wire thread. Case shows soiling and some scuffs and dings. Metal innards. Face is soiled and insect-nibbled. Again. Please examine the photos carefully. Neither of us wants any surprises or disappointment. I purchased this clock at an old-fashioned country antique estate auction on the northern edge of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Such clocks are still used today in nearby Amish homes. Lovely Tiffany travel clock. Sterling silver with blue enamel frame surrounding clock face. Overall this little travel clock is quite elegant. Clockwork is a Majestic 15 jewel 8-day wind. Recently professionally cleaned and adjusted. Enamel is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. One tiny inclusion in the crystal face at about 7:30. Frame marked"5069 Sterling(and 2 unreadable letters) Clock is approx. 3 3/8" high by 3" wide. There is another mark that could be o10 5113AJ. But we can't read it clearly.
