This design was the first time ... more/ punch clock produced and holds several patents from the 1890’s (as pictured). It is enclosed in a beautiful cast iron case with a New Haven clock face.The clock is approximately 20” tall x 14” wide.In regards to the condition, the clock has some wear consistent with age and use. The clock time movement is not present, although the time recording mechanism is in the case (not sure if it is the complete mechanism or partial, see photos for the mechanism). The key for the lock is missing and there appears to have been a repair to the top of the casting.

Dating from the 1890s era. It is in complete restored condition and all set to go in the home. We take a lot of pride in doing up our antiques nicely, and we certainly went all out here, with our head refinisher Norm doing a job of unbelievable quality on this desk. It has a tiger sawn writing surface in the center, which had to be glued back down as most desks of this age. We also had to re-glue everything, reinforce the roll, sand, strip, stain, and apply multiple coats of sealer and satin sheen lacquer on this hard-to-find 66-inch-wide roll-top desk by the Derby Desk Company of Boston, Mass. If you’ve been looking for a roll-top, and you’d like one to brag about, this one gives you all the bragging rights you’ll ever need. Porcelain dial surrounded with engine turned brass of high relief floral. Cornucopia, and urn motif. Eight day. Three train, quarter hour strike with crown verge escapement. Pennsylvania Item# 130401YYR21 This is a simply outstanding work of art- an American Chippendale Period Tall Case Grandfather Clock from Pennsylvania. This clock was crafted by clockmaker Jacob Diehl of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Born in 1776, Diehl was active in 1798 when he took over the shop of Daniel Rose, one of the most famous clockmakers of Reading in the period. He operated that shop until 1804 in the absence of Rose, after which he worked alone. Two examples of his work are preserved in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City(accession numbers 1980.458& 1976.279) One of these described at length in the publication Notable Acquisitions. 1980-81. The broken arch hood curls in unusual"blank" rosettes. These flanked by fluted pilasters supporting the replaced finials over a projecting crown molding. The glass pane is fully original, still retaining the wavy character cherished in period glass, framed carefully in a through-tenon mortised door swinging on original pinned hinges. Crafted during the first years of the 19th Century and reduced during the 20th Century to give it a more desirable height for smaller homes. Entirely crafted of Golden Oak for the primary surfaces. Both in solid and veneers, it has a caramelized warmth to the finish with a fine preserved patination beneath the later shellac. Featuring a broken-arch pediment with an incredible stamped brass rosette. The hood is raised on reeded columns with brass mounts flanking a tombstone glazed-glass door over the painted dial. The door is crafted with through-tenon joinery ... moreof the secondary surfaces, covered with the thick golden oak veneers. The arch is painted with a stuffed Cornucopia, each spandrel likewise embellished with gilt highlights around Roman Numeral hour ring with Arabic Numerals bordering this in fifteen-minute intervals. The center is inscribed"James Alexander Turiff" probably the retailer of this clock in Scotland. The back of the works are impressed by the maker of the movement, Finnemore& Son, presumably the firm active in Birmingham around 1810-35. Original glazed-glass windows on either side of the works allow you to peer into the movement. The shaft has a tombstone door with a rounded lip-molding. Opening on original brass hinges to reveal the paint decorated iron pendulum and two weights. It has a lock, the key still available and functional(though bent) with the original brass escutcheon on the outside of the door. The corners of the shaft are embellished with reeded quarter-columns with turned caps, these both likely reduced along with the case. The clock rests over a plain molded base with a restrained scroll-cut apron and feet. This is a simply outstanding selection for anyone with a smaller space looking

Look what I found at a recent auction! Here is a beautiful veneer mantel/ shelf clock cabinet. The label on the ins ide has remnants of Waterbury. The ca bine nt is 2 5 1/2" x 15 1/4" x 4 1/4" The reverse painted picture has significant damage. T he gong is still present. The little handle twist s to open the door. There is a little damage to the veneer but very little. A clock maker or repairman could really fix this cabinet up nicely. I think if the inside was fixed with shel ves. 1860s-1880s vintage E. Ingraham large 24" tall oak case"Regulator" clock. Time only. Large 12" dial pan, original upper and lower glass. Has received an in-home restoration fairly recently, case was refinished and the dial face was repainted by hand, giving it a bit of whimsy to the numbers. Back board was replaced with new masonite and they did a good job of it; should last for generations to come. Keeps excellent time. I believe it was serviced recently too. I think it's an 8 day movement, but I haven't run it long enough to be sure- ticks rather loudly and our apartment is small. Longcase Clock Dated 1727 8.5 Ft Tall Grandfather Long Case Tall Case Tallcase
This is what is known to collectors as a Dutch Longcase Clock made in 1727 by Jean Delfosse in Liege Belgium. It is called a Dutch Longcase because at that period of time. Belgium was under the control of the Netherlands and also under the political influence of France. This caused many small armed conflicts and local rebellions- towns were burned and looted, so few of these clocks survived. The clock stands 8 ft 5 inches in height at the peak. The workings are brass and the weights are lead. The wood is Oak. Collectors I have spoken with in England tell me this is a second generation clock. The first generation were limited to 6 ft in height. The second generation were built to order, so the original owner of the clock was someone of considerable wealth and influence to have a home with ceilings high enough to have a clock of this size made. ... moreI have conflicting estimates if this is a single day clock or a 8 day. Because if it's age. I have never attempted to start the clock in motion and I will not. I know it was in working condition 20 years ago, but the person who aquired the clock originally has passed away. The collector in England I spoke to on the phone told me Delfosse is known to have built 8 clocks during his lifetime. Other than that. Little is known as there are both Delfosse and Defosse names which seems to get mixed up in records from that era. The same collector gave me an apprasial between $6000.00-$10000.00 U.S. Dollars if it was in England. If he was able to personally examine the condition of the wood and the workings. He said he could narrow that range down, but he has no interest in trying to ship this to England due to it's age and it would be out of reason in freight charges and special packing. He was very shocked that this was located in the U.S. as normally the mass-produced grandfather clocks are found on this side of the pond. Hopefully someone on ebay recognizes the value of this clock or can provide more accurate information than what I currently have. I am not a clock expert.

I bought this clock some 12+ yrs ago& it hung in our living room for a long time. There is no makers mark I'm afraid. Not sure of it's origin. Saw another 1 like in in Jan that came from France. It chimes if I remember correctly, every half hour& every hour. It comes with a key that's marked from England& the back of the pendulum is marked Depose. We took it down because the hour hand got bumped& hangs loose now. Since I am no clock repair person, I leave it to the experts. It has 2 bottom push away's to balance it on the wall for proper running, meaning they screw out to balance it. There is a small screw in type piece in 1 of the picks, we always assumed it went on the end of the pendulum, your call. A simple mechanism inside, please see pics. It is large, measuring 11 1/4 inches wide, 25 1/2 inches tall& ... more6 1/4 inches deep. The wood has not been restored or even polished in a long time. The front has 2 sections of glass, the top piece has had tape applied on the inside to hold glass in place. Pendulum has a wooden arm with a chrome colored octagon shaped head. Asking what I paid. I'm listing this for my friend's father, so it's not my personal clock, and I know very little about these. My friend's father had feared he overwound the clock, but it was keeping time and chiming normally once I got it home, so I think it's OK. I could not find another like it in my research and saw no makers marks. It has signs of patina and age to include scuffs and scratches. The hammer or ax like object in the womans hand is a gold color and I am not certain it is original as it's color is unlike the rest of the piece. The base of this has an arch to it which leads me to believe it is a clock top mounted figurine. This is a beautiful mahogany tall case grandfather clock dating from what I would guess is around the 1910s. In original as-found condition. ... moreIt’s kind of a different kind of grandfather clock, because it has a set of weights and a set of chimes that are displayed behind the beveled glass door, along with a pendulum, but the clock is truthfully a key-wind eight-day movement, which they did quite often back in those days. It just looks like a really nice, expensive clock that you can buy for a really reasonable price. It’s time and strike, and has Westminster chimes. It is eight-day movement, as mentioned, that means when it’s wound up, you can let it run for eight days without rewinding. The weights and chimes are purely decorative, but the rest of the clock is very real. It has an empire colonial style case with pillars coming down the sides, a crown molded broken arch top with a center ball, which most likely had a spear on it at one time but it was removed. Behind the cutout glass door, there is a presentation tag that says it is going to a Wayne Richards from Ethel Richards, for Christmas 1917. The brass engraved face or dial has its original numerals and everything is intact and in good shape, and it does say it has a German set of works and was sold by Breitinger and Sons, Inc. out of Phi

C1920 Herschede Model 86 Mahogany Case 9 Tube Tall Case Hall Grandfather Clock
This auction is for a Herschede Model 86 Nine Tube Hall Clock. It stands a touch over 92" 7'8" I'm not an expert on Herschede clocks. But I located the following markings on the case and movement: the movement has a serial number, 11312, which from what I can find out dates the clock to 1920 or 1921. The back insert with the green fabric is marked on the frame 86 and 18. The case is marked 18 and 86 and 554(the last one is hard to read and could be wrong) The inside of the very top board of the clock is also marked 18 and 86. The face bears a small plaque indicating that it was retailed by a jeweler from Hagerstown, Maryland. The clock is fresh out of an estate. I bought it in Salisbury, MD on Saturday. It is currently running in my garage. Some of the little strings that hold the tubes need to be tightened to make the hammers ... morestrike at the correct position on the tube. There is some very minor wear/abrasions to the dial as photographed. And some very minor rust to the flimsy black pieces that hold the hammers. The interior of the movement looks very clean to me. There are some very minor scratches to the beveled glass panels. The access doors to the movement on the side as well as the larger on the rear, all retain their original green fabric, with staining and one tiny hole to one of the side panels. I have the original keys. Winder, weights, tubes, and pendulum as shown, all in good order. I am having trouble getting the main door to lock, but the side movement doors function well. Case in original finish with some scuffs and abrasions as you would expect, I have shown some in the photos. This is most noticeable along the very top of the clock, around the feet, and some minor wear around the keyhole to the main door as well. I think almost all of these could be concealed with a little bit of stain, but I'll leave that up to the buyer. VERY RARE! Set of 2 Antique Ansonia STATUES- LORD& LADY" Material: Spelter Age: 1904 Reference: Ansonia Clocks and Watches. Ly, Page 675, No. 2904& 2905 Overall Size: 25" High approx. Base diameter is 9" Description: These are very large. Not to be confused with the smaller Spelter statues that Ansonia offered for sale. They are quite impressive and are much larger in person than they appear in the photos. We included a photo of the Lord statue next to one of Ansonia's standard sized statues(the Fisherman) for size comparison. The smaller Fisherman statue is NOT included. The Lord and Lady are among the largest and rarest of the Ansonia statues. The chance of seeing one or both of these ever again. Especially in this condition would be very unlikely. You can see the"Lord" Or more commonly called a"swashbuckler or swordsman" handing the beautiful"Lady" a bouquet of flowers as she is reaching out to take them into her hand. Both statues were also offered as a fixed statue on a clock base. Which in themselves are nearly impossible to find(Ansonia called them Suitor and Countess when offered as statue clocks) You can reference them on Page 148, No. 462/463. Both of the statues are complete and outstanding with the following minor exceptions. About a half inch of the end of Lord's scabbard is broken off and missing. It is a simple round shape and would be an easy fix. The sword is to the rear of the statue so it cannot be seen in from the front.

American Federal Tall Case Clock Emanuel Meily (Pennsylvania, 1776-1851) Antique

Surviving in as close to an untouched state as is practically possible. It retains an original grimy and oxidized finish, deeply patinated and worn throughout without any evidence of touch up or refinish. The crest is almost Gothic in it's appeal, a pair of stepped waves cresting on either side to a half-dome capital with four turned cone finials raised over reeded plinths that stretch through the crest to a half-round molding framing the top. The tombstone glazed door is flanked by a pair of bobbin-turned columns, the dial door opening to showcase a white painted ... moredial signed"Emanuel Meyli, Lebanon" in the center. The spandrels are fine painted"Rising Sun" motifs, encircling the gold ring framing the Arabic numeral minute ring, Roman numeral hour ring and Arabic numeral calendar aperture on the innermost edge, these pointed to by highly attractive and complex pierced iron hands. The lunette is detailed with a moon-phase, the four scenes depicting(1) a Ship at Sea, 2) a moon, 3) a genre scene of a countryside home, 4) the final moon face, these over the pair of hemisphere maps. The works are original and reside on the untouched original seatboard. This inscribed in graphite"AJ7-70" 45" and the underside inscribed in two areas- probably notes on when it was cleaned. The brass pallets are arched and well cast. The false plate is not marked and no impressions are visible on the movement. The hood is completed in a reeded molding mirrored beneath the shaft molding. The pendulum door is crested with three pointed crests. Ran across this nice looking. Odd tall clock. There are no marking as to the maker, but it does say handmade from canadian chip wood. It looks like its from the 80's or late 70's. its pretty cool i think, somthing you dont see often. If you have any questions please ask and thanks for looking.
