The French 8 Day platform escapement is signed J. E. DUPONT PARIS. Two hammers striking on a gong. One for the time and one for the alarm. The movement has not been tested or taken apart. Clock runs for 30 seconds than stops, probably just needs a cleaning. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines to the dial. The case is in great condition with no damage or repairs. Excellent detail to include the 4 fluted 3/4 columns. Four glass beveled sides surround the case. One of the side glass sides has some chips, but this piece could be replaced for cheap money. Original key included Ferdinand Barbedienne(10 January 1810– 21 March 1892) was a French and manufacturer, who was well known as a bronze founder. The F. Barbedienne foundry was started in Paris in 1838 by Ferdinand Barbedienne and Achille Collas. Who was the inventor of a machine that would mechanically reduce statues. They at first produced bronze reductions of antique sculptures of Greek and Roman origin. Their first contract to produce bronzes modeled by a living artist was made in 1843 when they arranged to produce the works of Francois Rude. They barely survived the revolution and financial collapse of 1848 which caused many artists and foundries to declare bankruptcy. Barbedienne actively pursued contracts with the many sculptors of Paris contracting with David D'Angers, Jean-Baptiste Clesinger, and even producing some casts for Antoine Louis Barye as well as others. Achille Collas died in 1859 leaving Ferdinand Barbedienne as the sole owner of the foundry which by that time had grown to employ over 300 workers at their workshop located at 63 Rue de Lancry in Paris. Ferdinand Barbedienne was made the President of the Reunion of Bronze Makers in 1865 a post he held until 1885. It consists of a large french mantle clock and 2 side pieces. The clock was on her mantle. It has suffered some damage. The clock does not work(at least I can't get it to. But I'm no expert) The front crystal(glass? has a crack or chip on face towards top. Each side piece has damage. One has the top of the handle missing. A fantastic three piece mixed marble cased clock and garniture set with spelter figural adornments. The clock case measures 17.25" long and is 13.75" high to the top of the lady's head. The spelter figures have no cracks. Breaks or repairs. There is something missing from the lady's right hand- there is a small tube that held something- perhaps a bouquet. There is a chip to the tip of the white triangular piece of marble near the base. The brass works are unmarked except for the numbers 16500 and 38. The clock winds and runs. The chime works. There is no pendulum so I don't know if it keeps time. Two footed garnitures are in excellent condition. The dial has a light circular scratch shown in the photos and is marked"Delorme Chateauroux" A beautiful decorative set with great eye appeal. The condition of the polished Belgium black slate case is really nice with expected age related minor chipping(please see photographs) having marble insets contrasted by engraved guilded detailing. The porcelain dial has chips around the winding holes. The glass front has bevelled glass supported on a hinged brass bezel.All glass, hinges and fittings are in good order and as they should be. You have to lift up on the glass very slightly to close each the front and back glass(it is also beveled) THERE IS NO BOTTOM TO THE MARBLE HOUSING. I couldn't get a picture because of alloted space. The clock works inside needs to looked at. I am not a professional clock maker and it is probably an easy fix. I can move the tiny lever on the right(that runs the bell) and it functions chiming in the middle and until it gets to the next slot. If moved ... moreslightly out of the way each time) I don't know how to test the clock. We did wind it but hands doesn't seem to move and can't hear anything running. It just maybe needs re servicing. We did open it to see if there are any markings and the ones we saw are: 67920" this can be found on the back of the dial. The rim of the front glass and stamped on the back of the clock works( the plate over the gears) The back of the dial is interesting. It has several clues to the history of this clock. It is labeled with a name and"Galesburg" OR"Galisburg" Maybe you can read it better. It also has a sticker of a repair in 1969. Antique metal ship lamp with wind up clock Pat'd 1927 to repair beautiful piece
Included in this auction is a nice old lamp with a wind up clock and a metal base shaped like a tall ship on the water. The cord is probably original and in poor shape. I seem to remember that I plugged it in at one time and blew a circuit breaker so I highly recommend the cord be changed. The clock is a wind-up clock and I wound it up a couple of turns and it didn't work. It might need to be cleaned. The pictures show it dusty. I brushed most of it off but it could use a gentle cleaning. I didn't want to do too much because the patina is wonderful. There is no maker mark on the lamp. Patented Sept 6 1927 is stamped on the bottom along with DCS 73421. There is no name on the face of the clock. The clock housing looks like stamped copper but I think the ship may be spelter. This clock must have been stored in a dry but dusty barn for umpteen years. It is very dirty and does not work. I have know idea if it would be something very minor like a cleaning or something major, I can tell you from my vast clock workers experience that the dohicky is not hooked to the gizmo correctly. It would make a great decorator piece if it was cleaned up. I'm not sure that it is from 1909 or not but that is stamped into the movement that was made by Wm. Gilbert. Quite dirty, was not from a smoke free home. case is not perfect, young lady has a blemish on her forehead, and is missing the staff below the cotton on her shoulder. the spots on her arm and shoulder did come off, did not notice till uploading photos. the base has 2 chips on the front of the front foot, please see photos. rest looks good. it ran for 2 hours at one point, but no more, but springs are good, bell strike is good, will need a good cleaning. beveled glass on front and back are good. as you can see in photos, has a tin liner around works and where the pendulum swings. pendulum appears original, but is not numbered like the works, no number at all. quality of face is wonderful, french gold with a floral band, all hand painted. has overall height of 17 1/2" ... moremeasures 8" deep, and 10 3/4" wide. weighs in at around 14 or 15 pounds. front bezel is 4 1/2" wide, back is 4 5/16" if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, i will do my best. thanx for looking and good luck.

So I bought this clock from an estate sale so I don't know much about it. I've seen that it's normally called a parlor clock. I do not know the age. I was told you can find that out by looking at the back inside but I do t want to ruin it. Right now it runs and chimes. The#12 on the face is half off. Maybe it can be carefully fixed. Has an alarm, don't know if that works. I heard it but don't want to mess with it. Made in New York. Very ornate and has a very nice chime. Beautiful clock and piece of art. Lady in top is two tone bronze/ brass? and signed"GOMER" and plate on front bottom signed"EPOQUE FLEURIE" Clock face in good shape, no cracks, the brass legs are slightly loose, but can be tightened up, as well as the lady also. The works are marked"68481" that is all I can see without removing the bell. The base is like a rose colored marble? A little roughness on bottom below clock, probably from the making. With key& pendulum. Not sure of the working condition of the clock works. The side urns are 13 1/2" high, and base is 4"x4" Overall good condition, just some roughness of the marble in spots. Gorgeous GARNITURE set from 1855 France. Super heavy and ornate. Art Nouveau time period. The candelabras measure 24" tall and have a gorgeous cut out. Pieced design. The stunning antique bronze French clock measures 20" tall by 11" wide by 7" deep. The clock has several markings. Stamps and numbers on the mechanism. I have the candelabras listed separately and there is a separate listing just for the clock if you're interested. This is a very heavy, very well made clock. The ornate motif and design resemble that of the Art Nouveau time period. The face is white, blue and black porcelain. The original key is included.
