Beneath the Cherub is the Artists Signature. NOTE: We could not find another signed piece such as this that was signed. EXTREMELY RARE. Clock face plaque was skillfully painted in the extremely labor intensive process of painted enamel on copper– as each color is fired separately and there is a need for a skill to calculate the final hues of each color after so many firings. Here is an extremely rare miniature French clock in a"La Belle et le Paysan" pattern. As inspired by 18th Century toile. The case is deliberately flat in design so that the balance of the figures and rococo elements is emphasized. And stands on a 3-legged rococo base. This clock is signed on the dial"Planchon a Paris" Planchon is a well known 19th Century maker of superior French clocks with high-style cases. This clock is 14 inches high. The dial is only 1 3/8 inches in diameter. The case is in original condition. And its surface retains much of the original gilt finish. The movement is beautifully made and finished. As would be expected of a famous Paris maker. The lever escapement platform looks to be in excellent working condition. The movement works for a short period. Read Carefully- This clock functioned until one year ago. I wound it and it just doesn't work. I have not taken it to a repair shop. It is missing the round glass that covers the face of the clock, and there is a chip missing in the enamel(see pic) Those are the cons. The Estate said the Clock was running but I can not seem to get it to work, when the top Button is Pulled up the Alarm goes off so it is in need of some adjustment or repair and is being Sold As is. Unusual Victorian Figural Miniature Silverplate Cherub Clock
Up for bid is a lovely. Delicate, figural silverplate cherub clock, miniature in size, and of unknown origin and manufacture. I cannot find a maker anywhere on this piece though it may be on the inside of the clock though I haven't taken the clock apart to see. It stands just under 5 inches tall and is just under 3.25" inches wide at its widest points. It is NOT in working condition but because it's in such great shape otherwise, I assume it could be easily made to work. I wish the pictures had turned out better- the piece is far better than the pictures. The clock case is clearly shown in the photos- It features a daring. Dancing full-figure winged cherub holding a bow in one hand, an arrow in the other. Running down the sides of the rounded part of the case are decorative elements on both sides. On the bottom rounded part of ... morethe case are 4 elegantly curved legs which sit directly onto the oblong base. The gold-face of the clock itself has roman numerals and a second smaller round"clock" on and inside the clock(second hand? It is highly decorated on the inner portion of the face. The face is protected by glass and sitting on top of the clock is a bale making it look as if the clock is removable from the case. I don't know that it can be removed- I gently tried and it fits very tightly and I didn't want to try and force it if in fact, it isn't supposed to be removed. I've had and collected many clocks over the years- I seldom see these decorative miniature clocks. Never one this interesting. Antique/ vintage 17 jewels miniature. Gilt bronze, figural clock. The body is English, made by Bentima circa 1930's and the movement is Swiss. This is a true miniature clock. Measuring just over 2 1/2 inches high and a little under 2 inches wide. 4 ball feet support a rectangular casket shaped base. Above this is a domed. Elongated body with a round face, engraved Roman numerals, calibrated down to the minute. On top is a winder. Next to the body of the clock is a chinoiserie figure of a Chinaman, sitting cross-legged, with a tall, pointy hat, ruffled collar and engraved detail to his clothing. A round opening at the back reveals the movement. Which is very fine and in good, working order. It is engraved with Bentima STAR, SWISS, 17 JEWELS. Good. Original condition. Description This is one of the most amazing miniature's I have seen! I searched quite a bit on the internet and cannot find any record of one of these ever being sold and cannot find anything like it being available for sale. I did find a photo of 2 of them that are in a private collection and they were not near as good as this one. It measures when closed. 50mm tall and 33.50mm wide. When fully opened it is 72mm tall. The clock movement runs excellent and has kept exact time for more than 24 hours. I do not know anything about the movement as I do not know how to open it and didn't want to mess with it. There is a ding in the top right corner of the front of the case which has chipped the enamel. I got this last week and for some reason did not notice it till now so I do not think that it is very noticeable. French miniature cloisonne carriage clock
Here's a very nice miniature French carriage clock in a serpentine case with cloisonné bands top and bottom. Made about 1900. The case is just 8cm high and with the handle up it is 10.5 cm high. The cloisonné bands run around the four sides of the clock and are in good condition. There are minor signs of restoration of the cloisonné on the base at the back of the clock. The movement is in very good working order with original platform and also featuring a working alarm. Comes with correct double ended key. Postage will be at cost by a trackable method. Miniature Travel Carriage Clock with Guilloche enamel silver & MOP
This is a miniature carriage clock made of mother of pearls sides with silver handle.Feet except for the two behind replaced by 2 copper, together with a dial with turquoise enamel guilloche. It's faintly engraved on its base which i have attempted to capture in 3 of my pictures. All what i can cipher in such faint engravings on its base is a cross& underneath it are few numbers either 88 716 or 33716 but i can't cipher reading on top of cross which to me appears as Brevet after looking at its base with a loop. A tiny 1 m.m. chip which is barely seen& unnoticeable at the upper back left corner. I was told when buying it that the dots on the enamelled guilloche dial are both gold& silver.

Measuring only 19” tall by 6” wide and 4 ½” deep, this late 19 th century Miniature Grandfather Clock would be a great addition to a large Victorian Dollhouse. It has brass ormolu accents and comes with its original pendulum. Which has a woman’s face on it. The porcelain face is hand painted and in perfect condition with only some light surface wear to the center. There is no glass covering the pendulum, however we cannot see how any glass would have been attached, so perhaps it was always open. The works on this clock are marked, 102 9 10” and although this clock does not come with a key, we used a universal key and found that, the spring is wound tight. The only other problem with this Victorian Miniature Grandfather Clock is that the top piece of Ormolu has two replaced nails holding it in place. There are no other problems. Schmid German 8 Day Mechanical Miniature Grandfather Clocks collection. Came from a watch-repairman's estate-his collection shelf. Three tall and one smaller. I have 4 clocks for sale three are 13' tall and 4' wide 3' and a smaller rarer model at 8 1/2 inches tall.Three larger ones do not have original pendulums. A gold one and a black one with the smaller one I can describe as golden tone with a shine.Look at the photos.The clocks all have wear with ones more then others.Small scratches and smudge marks on the back where people usually put there hands on.The 2 taller ones were sent in for repair to be fitted with hand made pendulums as I show on the pictures.He used some gold filled watch backs with some weight.I Tried to work them and with these pendulums they dont tell very good time.They are of by 30 minutes every-day!The ... moresmaller one has its original pendulum.30 years ago some kid broke them and the father left them in the shop as he found the repair to expensive.Small one has a touch of glue holding top tiara. I am sure that a more competent watchmaker could make some pendulums for these clocks.The repairman I bought these from died recently. Other wise I would have brought them back for more work on the pendulums.But they all work.Need the original or a hand made pendulums for these clocks.Great for a clock repairman or collector.He made a mistake by not putting in a proper adjustment to make the round part go up and down to regulate the fast and slow! These clocks have a thin coat of paint and at the time the world was still experimenting in plastics and I find that they are rather fragile and damage easily.These are working 8 day but the ones with the hand made pendulums cant tell very accurate time. Miniature grandfather clocks that are very rare and were part of my collection.They need a servicing like all clocks but are all working now. These are getting very rare and a treasure for any collector.I am getting old and liquidating a lot of my things.I cant keep up with the dusting any-mor
