Antique E.N. Welch Oak Mantle Clock C 1880 with key in excellent condition!
This is a Welch oak kitchen mantle clock from around 1880. The wood is in fabulous shape. The clock has been recently serviced, the main spring had to be replaced and the glass was missing so it is new. Everything else is original. The dial is a bit worn and dirty, but I do not restore dials. I had to adjust the door close mechanism, the original piece broke off, so I used the old piece and adapted it so it works great to keep the door closed. It looks just like the old one. The pattern on the glass is a bit long for the door. It fits correctly over the face of the clock, but it is too long for the door of the clock, the pattern disappears into the door frame. The original key is there and the clock runs and chimes on the half hour. You can adjust the run time faster or slower from the pendulum. It's a really great looking clock as well ... moreas a nice working one. And it's a nice old piece to add to your collection or to add some atmosphere to your home. I tried getting the face off to take a photo of the manufacturers name but did not succeed, I was able to make out the name by 1 of the winding key ports, Clock is not in running condition. It keeps stopping, I wound this once and a lot, and I have not been re-winding it) I only set the pendulum in motion, it will run for awhile then stops, the chimes do work, There are 2 key ports 1 for the time and 1 for the chimes. Paper label on face. With brass trim, gold reverse painting on door, there is some wear to the reverse painting and the painting has a musical theme. Bag piper, musical instruments& musicians, fife, piano, harp, drum, horn, Back panel of clock is a single board, there is 1 brace missing at the top of the back of clock. And 2 underneath the front corners, I do have 2 unattached braces which I found inside the clock, 1 is for the top back of clock and I am assuming the other is for the underneath front. There is a faint"82" stamped on the back, and a sticker that shows the clock was repaired in 1979. I'm listing this for my friend's father, so it's not my personal clock, and I know very little about these. My friend's father had feared he overwound the clock, but it was keeping time and chiming normally once I got it home, so I think it's OK. However, because of the age of the item, it's being sold as-is. Also, please note that the decorative piece on top of the clock is loose, and can be reglued. Beautiful 1900's Antique SESSIONS "WAGNER"? PARLOR / MANTLE CLOCK w/ key Unique&
Another beautiful mantle clock I couldn't pass up from a recent estate sale I went to. Unique designs. Love the dark green color columns. The metal deco of a lady holding what looks to be a harp on each side, metal deco on sides and beautiful designs as you will see in the 12 photos uploaded. I was told, and information I have received or have been told in the past has been wrong at times, so PLEASE be your own judge and PLEASE look at all the photos. Someone mentioned it as a"WAGNER" and, I was also told it's a Mozart Circa 1918. It is without the glass over the face. Again, NO glass over the face of the clock. There's crackling on the material of the face/dial, from age and it being in used, antique condition, I assume. On the front of the face at the bottom, MADE BY THE SESSIONS CO. FORESTVILLE CONN. U.S.A. The front ... morehas the metal claw feet on each side. Measuring the widest part, which is the claw feet and where they come out, side to side, again, including the claw feet, approximately 16 1/4 inches. Measuring front to back, including the claw feet, approximately 6 inches. It displays approximately 11 3/4 inches tall. I took pictures of all sides angles, even the inner parts/mechanism. I couldn't get it to run. I really do not know what it needs. I think, and my opinion only, the pendulum is not mounted right because I found another pendulum type piece loose inside. It has the key with it. It strikes a deep sounding cathedral gong to the count of the hour/s and once on a bell for the half hour. I am not a clock expert and do not know exactly what it needs. So hopefully someone that knows about clocks will be able to tell more about it by looking at the photos uploaded. The scales show it weighing 9 pounds and 0.6 ounces. This auction is for an antique Gingerbread style oak mantel clock. I believe from the 1890's, marked on the face: SETH THOMAS- MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA- marked on the interior label: MANUFACTURED BY THE SETH THOMAS CLOCK CO. THOMASTON, CONN. Please see pictures for the label on the back. This classic old clock is still in very good condition overall in my opinion. The clock spring will wind up fine and it will run for 3 to 4 hours before stopping and then a little nudge on the pendulum will start it back up. The chimes will sound when the arms are manually moved around but they do not chime when the clock is running on its own. The chime spring is wound tight and seems stuck. I am fairly certain this clock only needs a little Clean, Lube and Adjustment for full function. There is a little splinter missing on the oak ... moreveneer on the lower right wing and otherwise the clock cabinet is also in very good condition. The label on the back is a little chipped in the middle area and some little pieces seem glued back on. This rare old clock measures 22 1/2" tall, 15" wide and it weighs approx. 6 lbs. 14 oz. with the key and pendulum. No rules. Simply pay and I mail promptly. I start this clock and it run for a while and then stops but I didn't have it lever but it might need clean or some repair? But it did Chime on the 1/2 hour on the hour. It has some etc hing of some Birds and Flowers and some other stuff on the glass. It does have some small spots of paint on it and it is missing two brackets on the back that help holes the top on and has some dust on it just like I bought it. A handsome antique 1882 Ansonia Clock Co. Cast Metal Mantle Clock with Key Wind. Beautiful chime, with pendulum and key. Beautiful numbered dial, no glass- not sure if it ever had any. The pendulum has the following wording"Ansonia Clock Co. New York Patent June 18 1882" This clock is 132 years old and still works well and has a beautiful chime on the hour. The clock comes with the key. The metal could use some TLC to bring it back to its original glory, has a couple of dings to the metal on the front but all in all still a great working clock. Size: 9 3/82" tall x 8 5/8 inches across and 5 1/2" wide.

I don't have a clue about clocks. But from what I've been able to find, it appears as though it's a Seth Thomas clock. It doesn't seem to work, although the key does seem to wind the right mechanism just fine. I didn't want to force the left one. The buyer gets what they see. German Key-Wind Brass Mantle Clock with wood stand - Circa 1970 (?)
Know nothing about this clock- except the obvious; Made in Germany sticker on the back. And printed on face on clock(bottom center edge) Key set and wind. But missing the key Fairly certain the clock's case is solid brass- looks. Feels, weights, and does not react to a magnet. Although the back piece where there is a'peep hole' I am not sure it that is solid or not. Must have been given as a Company Premium since it has a bronze medallion of- what I think- is a company logo. I always displayed the clock with that to the back since both sides of the walnut base are finished. My guess is it is from the 70's. But certainly just a guess. On offer I have an old vintage MANTLE CLOCK Key Wind. Key is included. In poor condition. Not working, good for restoration project or parts. Found as-is.Clock has been sitting in an old factory loft for 40 years or more and is very dusty and marked. Glass front missing? One foot pad missing on one side. Wood veneer is dry and cracked. Open little door at back and the movement looks quite good still and looks like there's a pendulum bob. New York USA and 5 1/2 marked in lower right corner of backside of inner workings of clock. Also has other markings probably a clock technician- which we are not, This clock is offered as is as shown. The cabinet of this clock is made of FANCY VERY HEAVY BLACK ENAMELED IRON with gold leaf line etched design– Weighs more than 20 lbs. The finish is original and in nice condition. Especially for its age! Again, this clock is not sheet metal but heavy iron, thick and heavy. Offered as is as found. This old mantle clock appears is in good condition. Worn enamel on corners and scuffs and scratches but no major damage- includes key and face plate looks like it may have been replaced with an another old original enameled ... moremetal face plate with Roman numerals. Please note- this clock needs a little work- I will describe the issue below. This antique Seth Thomas Adamantine clock has the pendulum and key. Everything appears original. But I am not a clock expert- we have taken lots of pictures for you to evaluate. Please note- there is a small chip/hole in the finish on the top of the case and a little surface wear here and there. It does not currently run. But I don't think it is a major problem for someone who knows what they are doing. When the pendulum moves, the thin piece of wire does not make enough contact with the gear to make it index- if I"help it along' just a bit, the wire will make the gear move. In other words- I*think* the piece of wire that the pendulum hangs from needs tweaking. We have placed an arrow in one of the photos to show exactly where this is not making enough ... morecontact to allow the clock to run- I hope all this makes sense! Stunning Ansonia Rosalind Mantle Clock w/ Key Excellent Working Condition!
Stunning Ansonia Rosalind model mantle clock. This clock dates from the late Victorian period. Somewhere from 1886-1900, it was cataloged all those years. I don't know enough about these to pinpoint the year any closer. This is a very ornate clock. It is in excellent original condition. There are a few very old touch ups around the lower part of the base, they are difficult to see. Other than that it appears to be completely original and has very little wear. Hinge on face bezel resoldered. I have run this clock for a while and it works well. It strikes one chime on the half hour and one for each hour. It has a very nice deep sound, not a shrill ring like some mantel clocks are. It keeps good time. Plan on fine tuning it after it's been running for a while(typical) Don't know what else to say about this clock other than I'm ... morekind of reluctant to part with such a lovely piece!
