This Gorgeous designed Old German Black Forest Chalet style Cuckoo clock was found at a recent private estate sale. Please view the pictures below) This clock was carved depicting a old mountain Chalet complete with a sharply pitched and hipped roof. The clock is very impressive in size with a overall length of 18" from top peak of the roof to bottom of the pendulum and a width of 9" at the widest point. This clock has many eye catching focal points. The top center of the clock has a extended wooden curved balcony complete with concaved carved slats for railings. On both sides of the balcony. Hanging from the slanted roof edges are more of the concaved slat boards. All of these accent pieces have been hand painted with lovely colorful mountain flowers. The lower part of the front of the clock has another extended wood balcony that extendes out past the sides of the main Chalet's front. These boards are also pained with lovely floral patterns. Beautiful. Rare, vintage, antique clock with cabinet area. Made& signed by Jean Cates. The# beneath his name seems to read 002 that I assume means that it is his 2 and clock out of 100. I believe this clock to be very valuable. Clock comes exactly as pictured and has normal wear for the age. It is 21" tall and approximately 4" wide. The cabinet area is 14 1/2" from top to bottom and 7" wide. I would estimate that the clock weights between 10-12 pounds. I could not pin point a date that the clock was made. It works and runs on 1"AA" battery. The hands are a little loose. I did not want to mess with them as I was afraid that I would damage it. You can use your fingers to secure hands for it to work& it will stay like that. The painting is amazing and detailed on this beauty. Fast shipping!

Available for purchase. We have an Antique Ansonia porcelain clock. The back of the case is stamped"Tower" This is an 8 day time and strike, key wind clock. The clock measures 11-1/2" tall, 8" across and 5-1/4" deep. Unfortunately the clock has some issues. The porcelain case is in great condition. I couldn't find any cracks or chips just normal crazing. The wood bottom is still in place as well. The dial is missing the glass and the dial was painted over years ago as that is also begun to craze and some paint is chipping away. The center brass decorative piece on the dial seems to be original. The hands also seem to be original. The movement of course is signed Ansonia and has a patent date of 1882. The clock seems to be out of beat. It will only work for a few minutes at a time before stopping. It seems to"skip" ... morea couple of beats right before it stops. I've tried to fix the beat but have been unsuccessful. I'm not a professional, just a collector and enthusiasts. The movement is also dirty so it will need a cleaning for sure. The clock has a beautiful flow blue color with gold gilded accents and hand painted flowers. On both sides of the front of the clock there are embossed lion heads. Beautiful Antique Clock Case Only with Porcelain Hand Painted Dial and Tile
Available for purchase. We have a beautiful Antique clock case with dial. The original movement was removed years ago and the owner added an electric movement powered by a Sangamo motor. Once the motor stopped working, the owner cut the electric cord and used it for display only. The Sangamo motor still remains inside the clock. This is the info we were told by the previous owners daughter. The clock case is gilded with lots of wear and patina. It is still in good condition. I did notice a small pin hole in the top back of the clock. See last photo! The porcelain dial is beautifully hand painted with lovely tiny flowers accented with gold and blue colors. The dial measures 3-1/4" in diameter and the winding holes measure 1-1/2" apart. The bezel and glass are in good condition. I did notice there is a scratch on the glass but not ... morea deep gouge. We do not know if the hands are orginal but they appear to be brass and are in good condition. Below the dial is a beautiful hand painted porcelain tile. There are no cracks or chips to either porcelain tile or dial. The original piece of wood is still in place on the underside of the clock. We could not find a makers mark or country of origin on the clock. It would be amazing if this wonderful piece could once again have a working movement and brought back to its original glory! Clock measures approximately 22 1/2" in height, 14 1/2" in width and 4 1/4" in depth. Pendulum and chiming coil removed for shipping. No key. I can't tell if the top of the clock's crown was split and repaired or made this way. If it split, it was a straight line clean split. Spectacular Hand-Painted Bracket Clock with China-Inspired Decoration. England. 1900 This wonderful English mantel clock is a very special piece for its exotic design and amazing decoration. And also for the astonishing sound of its carillon. It is a big-size Bracket clock with hand-painted wooden box and Chinese reliefs at the front, under the face. The clock is equipped with Westminster chimes for the hours and the halves. It has been completely restored so nowadays it looks as beautiful as the first day. Its movement has also been fine-tuned so it works perfectly. The decorative style inspired by Chinese art is typical of the early 20th century, when this striking clock was manufactured. The box is decorated all over its surface with tiny oriental-style fringes painted in gold. The solid wood is prepared with gesso and then covered with ... morered tempera paint. Embellished by golden, red and black motives. Some details(such as the two wooden pieces carved in the shape of hanging bouquets of flowers that flank the front door) are covered by gold leaf. All the sides of the box mount glass panes that let us see the metal face with black Arab numbers and also the movement. On the left and right side we can also see metal filigree pieces that let the Westminster quarters out. The front door is gorgeous: under the face we can see a magnificent decoration made of golden and lacquered stucco that depicts two oriental characters in an exotic landscape. The figures are made in low relief and are really charming and nice. The clock is completely covered by a great French polish finish that enhances the colors. The golden parts and the hand-painted decoration. Last but not least, the rear door has a bigger glass pane that lets us see the movement with the original pendulum bob. The movement bears the serial number 335214 engraved in the metal. The clock, finally, keeps the original winding key. GORGEOUS* OLD GERMAN COLORFUL HAND PAINTED CUCKOO CLOCK
This Gorgeous Old German Black Forest Hand Painted Cuckoo clock was found at a recent private estate sale along with several other old German Cuckoos. Please view the pictures below) The clock is very impressive in size with a overall length of 15" from top of roof to bottom of the pendulum and 7" wide at the widest point. The German clock maker was very artistic in designing this clock with very colorful hand painted flowers and leaves to accent the hand carved wooden leaves. The front peak of the roof displays a lovely carved forest bird accented on the sides with carved dimensional Maple leaves and branches. The leaves have the hand painted flowers on them. The front of the clock is framed with more of the carved and painted Maple leaves displayed against a carved Lattice designed background. The face of the clock is numbered ... morein Roman numerals and marked"Made in Germany" at the bottom. The overall condition of this clock is superb with no defects I can see anywhere. The clock runs perfect and strikes a musical note once on the half hour and on the hour as many times needed for the hour of the day. The clock is powered by two Pine cone shaped metal weights that hang on Brass chains and regulated by a matching carved leaf pendulum that also has the lovely flower painted on it. This pendulum will swing back and forth beneath the clock. I will keep my price very low of some lucky person and remember this auction is for only 3 days. So place your bids early. Signed 19th Century Comtoise/Morbier clock with rare hand-painted scene on dial
1870's Comtoise clock with Roman numerals signed"Auguste Morel à Montbrison" the center of the dial is painted with the Roman mythology scene of"Diana and her favorite nymph Callisto" The identification of Diana is through the small moon-crescent diadem on top of her hair; the rest of the scene includes nymph Callisto along with a winged putto(a cherub-like child) and the usual bow and arrow-quiver in a woodland setting that are symbolic of this mythological moon/hunting goddess. Auguste Morel was a well-known clockmaker in Montbrison(because of his expertise. He was commissioned by this town's council in 1873 to maintain/repair its four public clocks) Accordingly, this particular clock's age is estimated be in the 1850-1880 range. This clock was professionally cleaned and adjusted over a year ago but ... morehas not been in operation since. Signs of its age and wear are evident on the painted brass surround and on the the iron box; there is one very minor chip between XII and I on the enamel dial. The cables and weights are replacements and so is the vintage pendulum. Besides the winding crank. An antique very sturdy auxiliary key is also provided to make the winding easier since the weights are quite massive(both items are now lightly taped to the floor of the iron box) Clock dimensions at the widest and longest points are 19" x 13 3/4" x 7 1/2" pendulum dimensions are 43" x 12 1/2" x 3/4" Weights are 18 lbs for the pair. Antique French Longwy Porcelain Mantel Clock Hand Painted
Up for auction is a beautiful antique French Longwy porcelain mantel clock. This clock is hand painted and shows no flaws to the paint or the porcelain. The pendulum is included. However the clock is untested. Inside it reads, Etoemme Maxant Brevete Paris. The face of the clock reads"Bailey, Banks, and Biddle- Philadelphia" The serial number is#12349 4.4.
