Up for auction today fresh out of a great estate is this beautiful revere electric westminster chime mantle clock with telechron motor. I went to this estate yesterday and picked up a couple very nice mantle clocks and this is one of them. The clock does work and it does have some light scratches as shown in the close up pictures. The case is very nice with a couple light scratches shown in the pictures. Im not sure what type of wood this is but it is a very dark colored wood. The dial looks great, the crystal looks very good. The clock measures app. 18" wide, 8" tall, 5" deep. This clock does work but will need some minor adjustments, it does run a little slow, it lost around 10 minutes in 24 hours, the motor seems to be a little loud but that may just be the way it sounds. Case The case is in really good condition for age. No chips or scratches, only the top is a wee bit faded in places(I only noticed this when the clock was under my bright kitchen spotlights) The hinged brass bezel opens to give access to the dial and the back door the movement. Like I always say from now on with my listings, clock is not brand new, it is from 1956, so for something which is almost 60 years expect obvious signs of age. Dial The original cream chaper ring dial is in extremely good condition. The hands are a lo vely design. The dial is surrounded by a brass bezel which c li cks shut. The silent lever is at the left hand side ... moreof the dial which will completely stop all chiming and striking. Movement This is a three train high quality movement which chimes every 15 minutes and also strikes the number of hours. There is a small scratch next to the hinge on the left side of the dial. It measures just above 16 1/2 inches long x 4 1/4 in wide x 8 in height. Shipping weight is about 7 lbs. Up for auction is a fantastic antique New Haven clock in a handmade wood Tramp Art case. Very fine. Intricate detail. Cathedral form with four spires, pierced and layered detail throughout, checkered roof. Dial appears to be celluloid with a brass bezel. Beautiful workmanship. In good condition with small areas of damage here and there. The tip top of the clock is chipped on both front and back, two of the protrusions along the top are chipped, one chip to the front under the dial, one chip to the scalloped edge bordering the dial, looks like one repair to the pierced area below the dial to the lower left, one split to the roof, one chip to the roof, one chip to the top corner of the openwork near the back spire, other normal signs of age. A handsome antique 1882 Ansonia Clock Co. Cast Metal Mantle Clock with Key Wind. Beautiful chime, with pendulum and key. Beautiful numbered dial, no glass- not sure if it ever had any. The pendulum has the following wording"Ansonia Clock Co. New York Patent June 18 1882" This clock is 132 years old and still works well and has a beautiful chime on the hour. The clock comes with the key. The metal could use some TLC to bring it back to its original glory, has a couple of dings to the metal on the front but all in all still a great working clock. Size: 9 3/82" tall x 8 5/8 inches across and 5 1/2" wide.

From an older estate in Winsted. CT ~ A Turn-of-Century William L. Gilbert Co. mantle clock! It's an ARMY model#39. Cased in oak. It measures 20" high x 10-1/2" wide x 4-3/4" deep. The dial. With framing, measures 6-3/8" in diameter. The dial is composed of heavy paper; it shows tiny bubblings and a bit of peeling to the upper area. The glass door is reverse painted. Eglomize-style. The clock is totally unwound; we only cranked it up with the key enough to determine that it runs well. The chime strikes on the half-hour as well as the hour. Sorry. Antique c 1900 Fancy Ansonia Pressed Oak Mantle Chime Clock w/ Stenciling-Works!
A lovely clock in working condition. I wound the clock after bringing it home. But not anywhere near fully. I let it run for about six hours, and it strikes on the half hour as it should. After six hours, it was very gradually gaining time and was about five minutes fast when I stopped it. Don't know if that was because I only wound it a little, but I'm sure it could stand a cleaning(tune-up) I'm not a clock expert by any stretch, but found this piece to be very pretty with the ornate stenciled glass. I moved the pendulum by hand and it moved the hands for a few minutes and I placed the hand right before 9 o'clock and it moved to 9 on it's own and the hammer struck the chime 9 times on it's on.but other than that. I did not spend a lot of time moving the pendulum by hand. The glass door face is not cracked or chipped. The Numbers face is curled in a few spots which you should be able to see in the photos. It does show scratches and scuffs as you can see by the photos. It is missing the back cover.it comes just like you see it. One of the front legs is a little loose. I think it's just a matter of missing a nail. The clock measures: approx. 15" Long x 10 1/4" Tall x 6" Wide I did not polish or clean the clock. The clock is in great condition clean inside and out, very well kept as seen in pics. After placing two new batteries and switching the clock(On) We found the chimes function beautifully upon moving the time-set knob in the back. All the gong hammers work and there's a time where 3 hammers strike the chimes at the same time. The only thing that doesn't appear to work yet is time-movement. We believe it may be something minute considering how good condition it's in.maybe a minor adjustment will get the time-movement functioning again. ANTIQUE German Made Complete Gufa Mantel Wind-Up Clock.1930's with Westminster chimes. Has quarter hour chimes and chimes on the hour. You can turn off the quarterly chimes with a lever near the 3 on the dial. This clock is absolutely beautiful in appearance and has beautiful mellow chimes. The story behind this clock is that it was purchased by a U.S. Air Force member in England in 1965 from an antique store. In 1926 the UK had a law that required imported items to be labeled"foreign" If you look at the number six on the dial. You can see this label. It was brought back to America in the mid 70's. It had been in the same family's household since it was purchased. This clock is running great. Chiming beautifully, and keeping great time.
