This lovely clock measures 12" to the top of the dome. The glass dome is in great shape with only the tiniest of flea bites on the rim. This is a smooth. Older nibble or a manufacturing defect. There is some tarnish, and rough spots to the brass. Its duller in some spots. I must say, nothing that takes away from the presentation of this German clock. Please study the pictures carefully for condition and details. A really fine piece. The weight is 1 pound. 10 ounces. Very Rare French 19th Century Carriage Clock with Hour Repeater and 5 Minute Repeater Functions in Nice Fully Working Condition This is a very rare and ... morea highly collectable clock. It has two repeater functions- the more common button on top for repeating hours and a very rare button on the back for repeating 5 minutes. In fact. I own six grande and petite sonnerie carriage clocks and this is only the second 5 minute repeater that I have ever come across. I am still highly debating whether I really want to sell it, but I do prefer carriage clocks with more ornate cases. This clock is fully functional- it runs and strikes properly, also both repeaters work perfectly. One side glass has a small chip(see the photos) Front glass has a tiny surface chip, so small that I have not been able to take a picture that shows it. I have not timed the clock to see if it keeps the time accurately. But this is, of course, easily adjustable. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 7" high(with handle extended up) 3.75" wide and 3.25" deep. I am not a clock dealer- I am a clock collector and a member of NAWCC. Be sure to have a look at our other items! This is an outstanding find of a very rare. Working, depose brass metal carriage clock in the original carriage case. I've never seen another like it nor is it likely I ever will again. The clock was created in"France" about 120 years ago and signed on the back by"Brevete S.G.D.G. The clock has a brass metal case with the original red enamel finish and a large brass swivel carriage handle on the top for easy portage. There is a brass bezel surrounding the dial and a convex glass crystal is inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. The dial ... moreis unlike any I've seen featuring large, italicized, fancy bold numerals to mark the hours and matching black metal hands to point out the time. The familiar Brevete logo of a finely detailed lion appears on the upper dial and the phrase, Made in France" appears in small block letters near the bottom. There is a separate dial with one hand to allow for setting the working alarm. The back is copper, I think, and both old style original winding keys are intact along with both original setting knobs. There is a slow/fast adjustment on the back marked"R A" in case the clock speed should ever need to be adjusted. All markings on the back are embossed in French including"Reveil" for the working alarm feature. The clock is fitted with a key wind, mechanical movement that lasts for about a day or two on a single wind. It comes in the original green leather case that folds open to display it. The case has the original latch and both doors are intact and hinged. The original leather carriage strap is intact and attached to the case. I believe it had a gilt wash over brass or bronze and I haven't attempted to polish it at all so the photos don't show all that well.all of the beveled glass, four sides and top, is in good shape. It is unusual as it is an oval carriage clock and the crystal is curved and beveled. It is also an alarm clock on bell. It has it's original cylinder escapement. It was just overhauled and bushed in bronze. The escapement has the letters"FR" and"FA" as well as an arrow. When opened"SR" and"FA" are again engraved in the back panel. There is also a lion engraved into the back panel and I assume that this is the maker's mark. The back curved crystal on the little drawer ... morethat opens is slightly chipped and the edges of the corners. Otherwise the clock is in it's good original condition and is uncleaned with it's original patina. Clock face and alarm clock face are porcelain panels with decorative Arabic numerals. Being totally overhauled. The clock works very well! The Clock is Round in form as seen in the photos and marked on the Allround. The Clock is all Solid Brass with a fine convex glass front. The Clock also features a very fine enamel porcelain Dial with Blue Enamel Double Dial. The Estate said the Clock was running but I can not seem to get it to work, when the top Button is Pulled up the Alarm goes off so it is in need of some adjustment or repair and is being Sold As is. I could also not figure out how to get into the workings of the Clock to photo them. The Clock comes in it's original Leather Fitted Traveling Case which is in good condition for most part with some wear and the one door is loose, though it displays nicely and has kept the Clock safe for approx 150 years. On offer thsi very big French Gilded brass carriage clock. 19th century, with in the front a visible echappement and in the top a thermometer and compass. The case of the clock has beautiful engraved parts and a strass ring around the dial. The compass and thermometer are working the dials are silvered and engraved. The clock has an 8 days movement. Striking on a gong and is stamped at the backside: S. Marti& Cie, medaille de bronze. The clock is in running condition but the movement and the case are not cleaned. In perfect working order. The elegant face is white enamel with Roman numerals marking the hours. Outside the hours is a delicately inked circle of lines and serif numerals expressing the minutes with the numbers at five minute intervals. There is a diamond beneath the serif numerals at the quarter hours. The body of the clock is a brass columnar case framing four bevelled glass panels. This is very fine and original French 19 th century repeating carriage clock by eminent maker Alfred Drocourt of Paris. France circa 1880. It is in working condition and comes with the original key. It has an 8 day striking and repeating movement with the original platform lever escapement. There is an enamel dial with Roman numerals which is set within a well and engraved around the dial. There is substantial gilt brass case with reeded columns and plain capitals. It is 8 inches tall including handle that lifts or flattens. 18th Century Duverdrey & Bloquel Antique French Brass Carriage Clock -- WORKS!
Up for auction is a beautiful carriage clock by Duverdrey& Bloquel. It has retained its patina which gives it a bronze-like quality. I don't believe this clock has ever been shined. It may actually be bronze- we're not really sure. The mainspring appears to be fine and the balance wheel is moving freely as you can observe through the oval window at the top. The clock measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handle and 3 1/4" wide. The porcelain face is beautiful and the hands have turned a blue-ish colour. Not being a clock expert I am not able to guarantee its condition. But its owner assured me that it was serviced years ago and was in working order in the 1980's. I have since recently wound it and it has kept time. It has a new key that is not original to the clock. Invest in this gorgeous antique timepiece now. Awesome 1800's Large J.E. Caldwell French Carriage Clock Strike Repeater Alarm
Hello. This auction is for a rare and Awesome 1800's Large J.E. Caldwell Philadelphia French Carriage Clock which Strikes the hour and half hour on a gong, has a Repeater function which strikes the hour and an alarm function. The case looks to have been polished at some time in the resent past. The sides are beveled curved glass with one of them replaced with plastic. The large heavy beveled escapement viewing glass at the top has some scratches and has has some restoration. The clock seems to run for about 8 days. It does gain approx. 2 minutes per day. Clock dates from the mid-1800's. Porcelain dials are both nice with blue lettering with the original Louis XIV fancy hands. This clock with the handle up measures approx. 7-1/4" and weighs over 4 pounds. There is a small gap on one of the lower columns as pictured-personally ... moreI would leave it alone as it doesn't show that much. This is truly an elegant time piece. I could not locate any makers marks but I am sure it is from a renowned maker as Caldwell only dealt in the best! I have noticed that if you pick the clock up from the sides the side glasses want to push in-so best handled used the handle at the top. The French movement was made by Samuel Marti of The Marti Clock Co. And is stamped on the backplate with the date 1900. Eight day striking clock strikes on the hour and half hour. Has all original beveled glass panel encasement. The hand painted porcelain dial is in excellent condition, not a hairline crack or chip to be found! A slight bit of wear to the word"France" painted in the center. Marked"Made in France" and marked with"Tiffany& Co. on the backplate, shown ... morein our up close photographs. French cloisonne carriage clock c.1900
Here's a French cloisonné carriage clock from around the turn of the 19th Century. It's in a 12cm high case which with handle up becomes 15cm. All casework and the cloisonné is in excellent condition with panels top and bottom on all four sides as well as a lovely cloisonne centre to the dial. This is a French clock from around the turn of the Century and not to be confused with the Asian rubbish currently in the market. The eight day movement is in good order and runs well. French miniature cloisonne carriage clock
Here's a very nice miniature French carriage clock in a serpentine case with cloisonné bands top and bottom. Made about 1900. The case is just 8cm high and with the handle up it is 10.5 cm high. The cloisonné bands run around the four sides of the clock and are in good condition. There are minor signs of restoration of the cloisonné on the base at the back of the clock. The movement is in very good working order with original platform and also featuring a working alarm. Comes with correct double ended key. Postage will be at cost by a trackable method. Miniature Travel Carriage Clock with Guilloche enamel silver & MOP
This is a miniature carriage clock made of mother of pearls sides with silver handle.Feet except for the two behind replaced by 2 copper, together with a dial with turquoise enamel guilloche. It's faintly engraved on its base which i have attempted to capture in 3 of my pictures. All what i can cipher in such faint engravings on its base is a cross& underneath it are few numbers either 88 716 or 33716 but i can't cipher reading on top of cross which to me appears as Brevet after looking at its base with a loop. A tiny 1 m.m. chip which is barely seen& unnoticeable at the upper back left corner. I was told when buying it that the dots on the enamelled guilloche dial are both gold& silver.
