Vintage Warmink Wuba Mini Bracket Clock Moon Dial 2 Bell Bim Bam Burled Walnut
This beautiful Bracket Clock was made by Warmink Uhren(Wuba Clocks) of Almalo in the Netherlands(Holland) This small size Bracket Clock has a beautiful burled walnut case that is highlighted with brass trim. Feet, finials and carrying handle. The clock makes an excellent appearance and displays beautifully. The burled wood case retains its nice original finish but, as should be expected on a vintage clock, it has some minor scratches and imperfections that do not detract. The two back finials are old replacements. Note the ornate side sound panels with fretwood detail and original fabric. The nicely detailed silvered dial is beautifully engraved, has raised spandrels and a working moon dial with a calendar feature. The well made Urgos? 8 day time and bim bam strike movement is not signed and only bears the number 526507. Note the polished ... moreback plate, two strike hammers, two large polished brass bells and the guard protecting the balance assembly. This guard is usually missing. The clock is running, keeping time and has a beautiful clear sounding bim bam bell strike. The clock retains its original trademark decal on the inside of the back door. Early Grande Sonnerie Viennese Bracket Clock Antique Bracket Clock Circa 1820. Viennese Bracket Clock. In good condition. We would think the top decoration is not original. Nor the very bottom one. The spandrels are original we think as is the bottom one where the pendle window is. There is a piece of the gold wood trim missing from the bottom of the case, the other piece is still with the clock, not shown. The porcelain dial is in good original condition. With a few nibbles around the winding holes as you would expect for a clock of this age. The bezel and hands are original as far as we know. The dial is marked Jacob Hofmann in St. Leonards. I would say this is a retailers mark, and is nice to see. The 50 hr Grande Sonnerie movement was overhauled a few years back. But has not been run for a while. It strikes the quarter hour(once for a ... morequarter past. Twice for the half hour etc) and then it will strike the hours as well. So at say 3.15 it will strike once on the first gong and then three times on the second gong. Over all this clock is in good condition for its age. A very large and stunning ... morered Boulle work Rococo bracket clock. Almost 3 feet in height. The red shell veneer is delicately inlaid with brass and mounted with fine ormolu. The shape is the classic rococo key hole shape with glazed door to the front and glazed panels to the side. Allowing the ormolu pendulum to be seen swinging within. Inside the case. The rear door and the floor of the case are also decorated with Boulle work. The Ormolu mounts(Doré Bronze or fine gilded brass/ bronze) are finely modelled and crisply chased with a lovely clean and bright original gilding. To the top is a beautifully large and flamboyant rococo finial. The dial is ormolu mounted with 24 individual enamel cartouches for the hours and minutes and one to the centre which is signed for the Paris retailer. Binet&Thuret. Listed by Tardy Dictionnaire Des Horlogers Francais as working in the Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth in 1870. It is fitted with the original beautifully hand cut and blued steel hands. SUPERB c1880 BLACK FOREST CARVED glass eyed EAGLE clock BRACKET
This is the second of two beautifully carved antique Black Forest eagle items removed from the same home. In addition to displaying well. This is a very useful clock or vase bracket, which was still in daily use over 100 years after being made! This bracket measures 21 inches in height and the glass eyed eagle has a wingspan of 20 inches. The platform is 17 inches wide and 8 inches in depth. So can support a large bracket clock. 18th C Austrian Bracket/Shelf/Mantle Clock, 8 D. Triple Chain Fusee, by J Gratzl
This is an operating late 18th C Austrian bracket/shelf/mantle clock made by Johann Georg Gratzl of Vienna. Austria. It measures 20.5"H, 13.5"W, and 7.5"D. It has a softwood case(possibly fruitwood or pine) with the original faux red wood and gold paint finish. There are cracks in the case sides, and there has been professional repair to the interior trim. The paint is appropriately worn for a clock more than 200 years old(please see the pictures) The case has an inverted bell top form with rectangular door and tombstone dial. It has cast brass flame finials and brass bun feet. The front and back doors lock, and the key is included. I see no evidence that this clock had a top handle, and given the clock's size and visible movement, I believe it was made to sit on a large mantle with a mirror behind it. The dial is brass ... morewith silvered chapter. Date, month(astrological signs in red) and strike/silent rings. The maker's name is engraved at the bottom of the chapter ring. The movement is a brass 8 day triple chain fusee which rings 1-4 times at the 1/4 hours and chimes the hours at the hour. There are signs of professional maintenance and repair to the clockworks, however, the clock retains the original crown wheel escapement. The silence feature for the 1/4 hour rings is operational but the hourly chimes silencing is not. The clock's works are in need of maintenance including lubrication or replacement of the springs, possibly some bushings, and cleaning. However, as it is, I have found the clock to keep accurate time over a period of 4 days without winding(however, this is not guaranteed) The movement includes a bejeweled false pendulum made from clear/blue glass or crystal. With landscape rondel above, and dials on either side inscribed Repedirt/Nicht(repeating/silence) and Nicht/Schlagt(silence/striking) Time, strike and repeat movement, housed within an upright rectangular case with flame finials, cusped bell top and scrolled handle incorporating fantastic phoenixes or firebirds, all on tapering bracket supports. The clock measures 13 ¾ inches tall. 11 ¼ inches wide and 7 ½ inches deep. The door has heavy beveled glass. This clock case is in great condition. This clock does have a silent chime option. Fine English 18th century mahogany bracket clock by Daniel Worthington. London c.1780 having a lovely brass dial with silvered engraved chapter ring and sunken cartouche signed Dan. Worthington, London. With rococo spandrels and finely matted dial center. There is a strike/silent dial in the arch and the hands are delicate blued steel. Also featured is a calendar aperture above the 6:00 position. The 8 day movement retains it's original verge and crown wheel escapement with short bob pendulum and strikes the hours on a bell. It also has the hour repeat feature which is activated by a string to the bottom of the case. The fully engraved backplate is outstanding. The original hand made spring driven movement has twin fusees. The bell top case has brass trim to the front door with delicate wood frets to the corners. The case also has canted ... morecorners with brass stop flutes and cast brass finials. The two brass carrying handles are on the side of the case. The highly finished movement can be viewed through glass at the sides and back. The case also has lovely brass bracket feet. The clock comes with a correctly fitting modern winding key and door lock key. It's interesting to note the similarities of this example to clocks made by the famous London maker John Taylor. Including the unusual back cock apron. This may imply some collaboration between the two makers or simply that this clock represents the finest quality and latest fashion available in London at the time. Daniel Worthington, London is listed in"Baillies" as an apprentice c. 1752. For further reading see"The Georgian Bracket Clock" by Barder. This is a beautiful English George III Chippendale striking bracket clock made by Richard Williams of Liskeard. Cornwall England circa 1774. Pagoda style mahogany case topped by brass handle. The silvered chapter ring has Roman numerals and Arabesque numbers. Sits on brass ball feet. A harlequin in a chequered costume moves back and forth in his window as the pendulum swings. The Harlequin is characterized by his chequered costume. His role is that of a light-hearted, nimble and astute servant, often acting to thwart the plans of his master, and pursuing his own love interest. At 62cm High and 38cm Wide this is an impressive clock. Made in a gothic style the casework is wonderful. The 8 day single fusse and spring movement has been completely overhauled by Furtwangen trained Master Clock Maker Peter Schanz. From Toowoomba in Queensland, approx 2 years ago. This is not a clock that has been"oiled up" and is just"running" it has been done by a proper clock maker with 30 years in the trade. The clock is in good working order. Antique bracket/ mantel clock combines a precision movement made by the 19th century French clockmaker Vincenti& Cie with the 20th century craftsmanship of a mahogany case made by UK cabinet maker Waring& Gillow Ltd. I'm guessing that marriage took place early in the 20th century but I don't see anything to date it exactly. It is a 19th century French movement though- it's stamped: MEDAILLE D'ARGENT VINCENTI& CIE 1855" Finally. I believe the case is mahogany but I'm not 100% sure. Perhaps a knowledgeable serious bidder who can determine that from the pics could set me straight.

Antique English 18th c. Mahogany Bracket Clock c.1790 American Market w/Eagle
Rare English mahogany bracket clock made for the American market. This fine clock is an example of a London clockmaker building a clock specifically for the American market. The beautifully engraved backplate features an American eagle in a round cartouche surrounded by foliate scrolling and is numbered No. 192. This style of bracket clock was popular with affluent American buyers in the late 18th century and examples of similar clocks exist having been signed and sold in Philadelphia. The movement. Dial, hands, and case of this clock have always been together. I'm not sure if the entire clock was imported and sold here or just the movement; the case and possibly the dial being made here. The secondary wood of the case is oak and the seatboard could be poplar, both of which could possibly point to a Philadelphia origin to the case. I ... morehaven't had an analysis of the timber done but it would be interesting. The dial is in untouched original condition with no trace of a signature. There is crackling and a few scrapes but thankfully, it has been spared any repainting or the"improvements" that many of the simple yet classical dials have suffered. Interestingly, the dial is painted on tin rather than iron which the Birmingham dial makers used. Other examples of Wontner clocks can be found which were intended for the British market having engraved"Prince of Wales Feathers" in place of the eagle. The original hands are brass and an interesting quirk of Wontner was his use of an engraved brass calendar wheel which is visible above the 6:00. There is an original functioning strike/silent hand in the arch of the dial. The use of Arabic rather than Roman numerals is a reflection of the Neo-classical influence of the period. The original 8 day twin fusee movement has very thick plates and retains it's original verge and crown wheel escapement. So many of the verge escapements of the clocks that remained in England were"modernized" and converted to anchor by English Victorian craftsmen.

Heavy and beautifully made original antique French ormolu(finely gilded bronze) clock. It is Rococo in style with boldly modelled, sweeping acanthus and'C' scrolls to the waisted case. It features an exquisitely detailed figure of the Greek goddess Athena seated to the top, marking the passage of time on a sundial. Athena is the goddess of heroic endeavour, wisdom, justice and the arts. The front and sides have fretted sound panels allowing the sound of the large, sonorous bell to the heard. The very large dial is enamel on copper with separate minute ring and original finely fretted gilt brass hands. The bezel is fitted with convex glass. Excellent Original Mahogany cased Bracket Clock dating around 1810 with a quality London Made Double Fusee Movement. Antiques An exceptionally fine example of an English Regency bracket style clock dating from 1902. By Douglas Clock Co. of Birmingham, England. The highly sought after Douglas clock were often sold through Harrods of London. The dark mahogany veneered case stands stands 15 inches tall. And is in excellent condition, with brass inlay to the front and cast brass acorn finial, feet, side screens, and front pillar corners. The brass mounts still retain their original lacquer finish. The brass bezel is fitted with beveled convex glass. The white enameled convex 4 1/2 inch dial is near perfect. With Roman numerals within an outer minute track, marked with red Arabic numerals every quarter of an hour. The dial is unsigned. The clock is running at the time of shipment. The French eight-day movement is signed"D.C.Co. for the Douglas Clock Co. ... moreAnd for Samuel Marti,the maker of the movement) Medaille d'Or. The gold medal was awarded to S. Marti et Cie in Paris in 1900. It strikes the hours and the half hours on a coiled gong. Size is 16" x 8 1/2" x 6" deep. Weight is 7.4 pounds. Condition is excellent- tiny chips around the adjustment hole in the dial.

My researched leads me to believe this clock was made in the early 1900s. The Kienzle wing trade mark is clearing seen engraved on the clock movement. Also engraved is"60014" and"18/158" see pic) Face of clock is marked"Made in Germany" STRONG RUNNING CLOCK- Clock has been running in my home for the past week.
