Antique Limoges Napoleon Centennial Demitasse Cup, Sauce & Plate.M.Redon 1890s
This is a Fixed Price Listing with Best Offer Option for a 2nd Rare Limoges Demitasse Cup& Saucer with side plate made pre 1896 by M. Redon. Decorated with Napoleon's Crest and Bees(the symbol of his Empire) it was most likely made for the Centennial of Napoleons assumption of power. The footed cup is 1 7/8 inches high and 3 3/8 inches at rim. The Sauce is 5 inches and the Side Plate is 6 1/8 inch inches in diameter and is the only piece with the M. Antique Charles Field Haviland Limoges Porcelain Hand Painted Demitasse Cup& Saucer Chick& Carrots Estate item. Exact age unknown, 1859-1881, from my Mom's estate Cup and saucer marked backstamp CFH in green Measurements: Cup 2 1/4" tall. 2 1/4" across top, saucer 4 3/4" across Capacity of cup: 3 oz. White porcelain with thin gold trim around rims Hand painted chick with carrots on cup; two carrots on saucer This auction is for one antique white porcelain demitasse cup and saucer made by Charles Field Haviland Co. From the period 1859-1881, with hand-painted decoration of a chick about to eat one of two carrots on the cup, with two matching carrots on the saucer. This item is from my Mom's estate, inherited from my paternal grandmother, likely from my great-grandmother. The cup is hand-painted with a cute little ... morechick in yellow. Black, and white, bending toward one of two orange carrots with green tops, about to eat one. The saucer has a matching hand painted section with two carrots. There is a thin double gold rim around the top of the cup, a single gold line around the bottom of the cup, and around the rim and center recess(where the cup goes) of the saucer. The cup handle also has delicate gold scrolls, looks like a grape leaf design, and outlining. There is a tiny nick in the saucer edge and wear to the gold trim areas, but the chick and carrots are clear and do not appear worn. The painting is very nice and detailed, even including fine roots on the carrots, shading on the leaves, delicate shading of feathers on the chick. There is no artist signature on the pieces. This may be one of a kind. I have searched the china databases and have not found a pattern like this. Dates to the Civil War era. CONDITION: Fair to Good antique. Pre-owned condition with one tiny edge nick(chip) no cracks or crazing. No utensil marks. There is wear to the gold trim, mainly on the saucer edge, where the gold has worn off or nearly off in the area near the tips of the carrots. There is lighter wear

Antique Limoges Demitasse Cup Set Maidenhair Fern Twig Handle 1800's Rare Design
This is a gorgeous and rare antique demitasse set. It is unmarked. But was made by the CFH Limoges porcelain factory in the late 1800's. It is very fine eggshell thin white porcelain with a delicate woodsy hand painted design of maidenhair ferns. The cup has a lobed body and the saucer also has this quatrefoil design. It has an ornate handle design of a twig with leaves which is painted with heavy matte gold. The rim of the cup and the rim of the saucer also have matte gold highlights. This beautiful set is in excellent condition and free from cracks, chips or other damage. There is some VERY minor gold loss on the handle which can barely be seen without magnification. It was made especially for the high end retailer Higgins& Seiter of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. What makes this set special is the art nouveau style decoration. It is decorated with a factory transfer design of rather large pink blossoms. They encircle the inside rim of the cup. The outside of the cup and around the well of the saucer. The borders have an intricate nouveau design in green and lavender. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. CONDITION: There is very slight wear to the gold around the rim of the cup.

19thC Rare Ornate S. MAAS Limoges Demitasse Cup & Saucer Set Pink Roses/Gold
There are several Limoges companies that produced a relatively small amount of porcelain or decorated relatively few pieces. And companies that did not have a large export business to the U.S. Pieces from all of these companies tend to command higher prices because few of their works are in circulation. Examples of companies falling into these categories include S. Maas, Oscar Gutherz, François Alluaud, Henri Ardant and Barny& Rigoni. Offered here is a beautiful Limoges demitasse cup and saucer set. A great find from a bygone era and wonderful addition to any enthusiasts' collection. It is in excellent condition, with very minimal gold loss. Little antique cup& saucer. GDA. G'erard, Dufraisseix& Abbot, Limoges, France. 1900-1910. The original company was owned by Charles Field Haviland. This is a fabulous piece. It is smaller than a tea cup and not really shaped like a demitasse cup. It is shaped like a tea cup but smaller. Maybe it could of been for chocolate. It has lovely gold trim that is still there without wear. The floral scroll design is still very bright and colorful. It has been packed away for many years. This little beauty needs a new home. Research regarding this art work– piece by“Jean-Honoré Fragonard. 1732-1806) was a French painter of the rococo age. Who became popular in the courts of Louis XV and Louis XVI for his delicately colored scenes of romance. Often in garden settings. Fragonard was born in Grasse on April 5. 1732. At the age of 18, he began to study painting in Paris with Chardin. But he formed his style principally on the work of his next master. François Boucher. Fragonard won the Prix de Rome in 1752. He studied in Italy from 1756-1761. In 1765 he was admitted to the Académie Royale. The French Revolution(1789-1799) Which destroyed the nobility on which Fragonard depended for commissions. Ruined him financially. He died poor in Paris on August 22. 1806. Condition: beautiful porcelain– very fine– No chips. No cracks.
