Both pieces are hand painted with a nice bird scene- each having two birds ... moresitting in a tree branch- as well as some tiny flowers and leaves scattered throughout(mostly on tiny flaws in the paste) and a super fancy rim design including gold. Blue and purple with small floral arrangements mixed in. Never seen one quite this fancy from them! The edge has a nice shape to it as well. The set is marked with the CC mark under the crown in under glaze blue as well as a purple HL as a painter's mark and some impressed numbers by the foot ring. The saucer is just over 1 inch tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition. The bird scene is one of the best I have seen by them! About twenty five or mo re years ago I have purchased from an elderly French lady a 6x4" portrait(on a material ebay will not let me mention even though I am not selling it) by LeBrunn of Marie Antoinette and this cup and saucer. Which the owner claimed was part of a set given to the young future queen upon her arrival from Austria to France. This is definitely a very old cup and saucer. There are similar jeweled monogrammed pieces of Sevres at the Art Institute of Chicago museum, but whether this really used by the French queen of the"Let them eat cake" fame, I can not prove.In either case this is a stunningly hand painted piece of almost see through thin porcelain and so, considering that it is Marie Antoinette's birthday exactly 157 years ago, I decided to list it. ... moreI am starting with a low price, considering in possible historical value. The cup has a split branch handle. The set is beautifully hand painted with swags of roses and tiny flowers. They are painted in vivid colors. The gilded trim is very delicate and quite elaborate. Presented in the photos for sale is a small Sevres teacup with a gold rose on one side and a pheasant in color on the other, This piece is translucent under light and very resonant when plucked by coin. A fine piece for display. Flaws: due to age and oxidation there is imperfections on the outer paint and wear on the bottom. Handle and base. The handle has a crack at both joinings from where it possibly had fractured. Though the restoration is nigh invisible, it still makes for a fine display piece. Measuring less than two inches this piece having such simplistic yet exceptional design. The intertwined L as the hallmark has been Identified as Sevres as this was one of their older hallmarks. I have for you this evening a very beautiful example of porcelain that was fired at the kilns of Sevres in France in the early 19th century. This piece is made of the very finest grade porcelain being made in that region and indeed some of the very finest porcelain ever made. This example is a swan cup and saucer set which is an iconic mold design by this maker. This piece has been fired to biscuit form and most of the swan has been left the prestine white of the unglazed porcelain. The remainder of the cup and the majority of the saucer are heavily gilt in the highest quality and beautiful gold gilt. The elegance and richness of this set is just simply decadent and speaks loudly to the period in which it was created known as Empire which was very popular at the time of the making of this set. Sevres Here we offer a Rare Coffee Can Cup& Saucer that is French Sevres Porcelain Manufactory. Coffee or Chocolate Can or Cup with Saucer dating from the Napoleonic Era of 1800's. These two pieces feature a beautiful sky blue background with hand painted Portrait. The handled"can" or cup has an exquisitely detailed center portrait of the queen or princess of the time period. The portrait is signed by the artist on the bottom(see photo) There is also the french mark written in red for Sevres. The interior of the cup is gilded along with the fancy molded handle. The cup and saucer are elaborately decorated with superb mat and gloss gilded borders& scrolling which demonstrate the finest of Sevres gilding craftsmanship. The center of the saucer has a huge elaborate gold"Star" Both pieces are fine thin transparent ... moreporcelain. There are see through when held up to the light. Both pieces are hallmarked on the base with the studio hallmark"M. Imp. de Sevres" mark of the Napoleonic era. The artist has inscribed in black on the base of the cup"Kerlense" The saucer also has an additional initialed mark. The cup measures 4 1/4" tall. The saucer is 5 1/4" in dia. The cup is 3 1/8" across at the top in dia. This pair must be seen in person to fully appreciate its beauty. Overall excellent estate condition with wear to the gilding ever so slightly on the cup and saucer. We mention for accuracy as the gold is just exquisite and not worn at all on display. Antique Sevres Bavaria Marechal Niels Handpainted Rose Demitasse Cup And Sau
This is an absolutely beautiful cup and saucer. II has heavy gold around the edges and handle. The rose. Pink, greenish colors are so rich. It is signed by artist Marechal Niels on the bottom of both pieces. There is a tiny line about 1/10" on the rim of the cup. It is opposite a gold bubble on the other side of the edge so feel like it could be a tiny streak of paint. It feels smooth on both sides. I tried to picture it for you. This is truly a rare treasure.

Description Antique 1800s French Old Paris Sevres Dogs Birds Porcelain Cup W/ Saucer A stunning cup and saucer made around 1800-1850 estimated. The details are very pretty with several dogs. Birds and people painted on them. Looks like a hunting scene. The cup and saucer are completely hand painted with incredible detail. There is some wear to the gilding. Mainly inside the cup as the photos show. The gilding is very thick on most details, almost enamel like. This is a rare and possibly unique pattern. I have looked it up. But have not found a similar cup. The cup and saucer are unmarked. But the shape of the cup also resembles the sevres marked cups, so it probably is by the same factory. Condition: some wear to gilt and a very tiny hairline on the bottom of the cup. Only visible if you hold it up against a light. No further chips or cracks ... moreor repairs.
