Originally part of a child's complete tea set. The tiny Chinese shaped cup stands 1 1/2" tall on a raised pedestal base and measures 2 1/2" across the top rim. Made without a handle, as were most of the earliest tea cups. The color is a rich Salopian style black transfer, with a hand painted cobalt blue edge and pearlware glaze. The piece was impeccably potted and light bodied. The little cup depicts a young man holding a birds nest being inspected by a girl with a dog. A tiny beaded inside edge with a bold yet delicate floral border trim finishes off the inner rim. The image wraps full round the ... moreperimeter of the cup. With a prominent seam. The decoration is very rich, with very little white space remaining. The cup is unmarked. It was made in the Staffordshire potting egion. Antique white ironstone handleless cup and saucer with embossed corn and wheat pattern. Just as found years ago, used only for display, but certainly a serviceable piece. No chips or cracks that I can find, but crazing and glaze skips typical of these pieces of this age. Cup measures 3 1/2" in diameter and 3 1/4" high. For auction. Second of a pair of a ntique white ironstone handleless cup and saucer with embossed corn and wheat pattern. Just as found years ago, used only for display, but certainly a serviceable piece. No chips or cracks that I can find, but crazing and glaze skips typical of these pieces of this age. C.1860-90 WEDGWOOD & Co. PLATE & HANDLELESS CUP
Here are 2 pieces of Royal Stone China made by Wedgwood& Co. these pieces date to before before the McKinley Tariff of 1891. The plate is marked as shown in the Encyclopedia of Marks. By the Kowalskys, on page 364 of the 1996 Edition. Both pieces look to be in excellent condition with no chips. Upon close scrutiny, we did find a short hairline in the cup. There are normal glaze pops. Bubbles and stoneware irregularities one sees in pieces from the era. Over all, however, they are in very good condition. The plate also has an impressed mark under glaze that would probably date it to the year if we had access to a chart of those marks. The plate measures 9 inches in diameter. This is a really hard to fiond pair of early transfer pieces. Done in mulberry in the Abbey patter by W. Adams. Handleless cup and matching saucer. Saucer meaures 6" wide and saucer measures 3 1/2" wide. As stated, very tight hairline in cup and repaired chip on reverse of saucer(invisible on the front) I offer both pieces as a Buy it now, so don't wait, get these tough to find pieces while you can. Offered here is a handleless cup and saucer made by J Heath called"Ontario Lake Scenery" that was produced c.1870. The cup has twelve palens with the pattern in the bottom of the cup. Around the inside rim and around the outside. It measures 3" high x 3 1/2" in diameter. The saucer has the matching pattern on the inside and around the rim with the name JHEATH impressed in the bottom together with the mark for Ontario Lake Scenery. It measures 5 3/4" in diameter. They both show a little wear and the saucer has a tiny chip on the inside where the cup sits. Offered is a nice hand-painted in a shamrock-like or Irish Sprig design handless cup and saucer. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches diameter and 1/1/4 inches in height- the cup is 3 1/2 inches diameter and 2 1/2 inches in height. This old cup came from an auction in Vermont. The bottom is marked Ironstone Monticello Davenport. The cup measures 4" across the rim and 2 3/8" high. It has quite a bit of discoloration. There is crackling in the glass. No cracks. The bottom rim has small wear marks that may be considered chips or rub marks, see the 6th, 7th, and 8th pictures.

I don’t know what it is called but the flower is almost like columbine but has a distinct center. I’ve heard it referred to as“purple eye” because the center looks like an eye. I’m offering these together(2 sets priced as one set) because there are some condition issues. There are no chips and only a ½” hairline on the edge of one saucer which is the one with extensive browning as shown in pictures. One cup has an internal stress line that has browned– it’s at the bottom toward the foot as shown. The other cup has browning but no cracks. The other saucer has only light browning. 1804 William Adams Staffordshire Pink Transfer Handleless Tea Bowl Cup & Saucer
Here is a beautiful 200 year old antique tea bowl and saucer manufactured by William Adams in Staffordshire England from 1804. The tea bowl and saucer are pink transferware on ceramic and depict a farm scene with a man carrying an empty basket in the foreground and a young woman walking behind horses pulling a plow in the background. With a barn in the distance. The man looks like he is up to something, perhaps to throw something to spook the horses so he could steel food from the garden. There is a lot of flowers in the detail. The rim of the tea bowl and saucer are slightly scalloped. The saucer measures 6 1/4 inches in diameter and is marked on the back with the impressed mark"Adams" used by William Adams from 1804 until the mid 1800s. Early 19th Century signed New Hall Staffordshire handleless soft paste cup and saucer in good condition. Lovely cup and saucer has hand painted enamel floral decoration with blue trim accents. Cup has small rim flakes and light stain at base of cup. Cup measures 2 1/4" in height and 3 1/2" in rim diameter. Saucer has a small factory shard flaw. These very lovely. Shiny, early 19th century pieces have no damage. The 2 1/4" X 3 1/2" handleless cup and 5 3/8" X 1 1/4" deep"saucer" or tea bowl are soft paste porcelain from the Staffordshire region of England, probably pre 1860. early method of taking tea- pour it into the bowl to cool and sip from there) As you can see, these are hand painted with reddish purple grapes and tendrils and green leaves. 1 really old handle less cup with a black floral and fern design. The cup has a circle with a dot mark on the bottom. Other pieces I have of this pattern say"J Wedgwood" Japan Daisy. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and seems to be in decent condition for it's age. There is a hairline crack near the rim(see photo) and some slight crazing. There is also what looks like tea stains but they are all over all the pieces I have and are uneven. I don't know if this is due to age or is part of the original design. This was part of my Mother-in-Laws vast collection of china but it had been packed away and I never saw it or discussed it with her. We found it packed away in storage after she passed.
