This is a really pretty French Portico, Napoleon III, Regulating Pendulum Clock. Very nice working clock with lighter wood inlay. It measures 18 3/4" ... moreX 9 1/2" X 5". I believe it is from the late 1800's, but I am not a clock person. I am also not sure of the workings, but I put the pendulum on and gave it a nudge and it took off and ran for several minutes until I took it off. Seems to work fine. Comes with Key. This came from an estate of a high end clock and oil lamp collector. She only bought the best. She had a few Tiffany's and some carriage clocks which I purchased as well along with a few others. I will also be listing those so be sure to check my other listings.

Item Description Antique Shell Clock The case is made from a rare shell and gilt bronze mounts French made striking anchor escapement movement The movement can be accessed via the back of the clock Original pendulum and a key included Black roman numerals on porclain dial Dating back to 1860 Measures 35cm high 23cm wide 13cm deep off base. 44cm high 25cm wide 15cm deep on base James's Comments"This is a wonderful antique carriage clock. The case is made from a stunning rare tortoise shell patterns’ This adds depth to the clock with its lighter and darker marbling effect to the shell. It has carved feet with a gilt bronze mounts that surround the clock. This is a very attractive clock that would not look out of place in any modern day home. She died at the age of 90 and told me this set came from her French father. Who received it from his father. I think she told me it is 18th century, but I don't remember for sure. It consists of a large french mantle clock and 2 side pieces. The clock was on her mantle. It has suffered some damage. The clock does not work(at least I can't get it to. But I'm no expert) The front crystal(glass? has a crack or chip on face towards top. Each side piece has damage. One has the top of the handle missing. The other has one handle that has broken off entirely. I have a few pieces of the broken handles, but not all. The main piece is 16 inches tall and 11 inches wide. French Gilt Mantle Clock With Girl Holding Basket REPAIR/PARTS
First the damage or missing parts: One hand is missing(photo) There is no key to the clock.There is a piece missing next to the girls feet(about 1 1/2" x 1"Photo) By her right foot you will see a fan looking decoration-it is missing to the right side of the base where it should be(photo) The back of both legs each have minor nicks in them but not the sides of the leg's(photo) In one photo you will see what appears to be a branch with leaves to the right of the dial.I put it in place for the purpose of the photo. It appears in one photo unattached. It just needs to be attached and it would look good.The glass and frame are missing that cover the dial. There is a chip(s) next to the numeral III on the dial where it has been worn over the years due to winding(photo) I do not see anything else that is a problem. Clock is 12 1/2" ... moretall. 11" wide and about 5" deep. There is no damage to the girl or anything else. The cover for the back as well as the piece for the hammer to strike are present. I removed the works from the clock and found that they do work very well if the pendulum is not in place. With the pendulum attached the clock will work for about 15 to 20 seconds. Without the pendulum they work just fine. If this piece was cleaned and balanced as needed I see no reason why it would not keep good time. The striker does work. I see no indication of any damage internally to the works. On the inside of the dial frame stamped in the metal is' 890* on the back plate appears'A*M and 890 5*5(photo)the pieces match. This is an amazing French Portico All Marble Mantle Clock Set. This clock was made in the 1860's- 1890's in France out of the highest quality marble. And bronze decorations. All the bronze pieces were hand gilded with Gold leaf, and every piece you see on this clock is 100% original to the piece, and in 100% original condition. No one has ever attempted to restore it, or re-finish it, which is a VERY rare find with these clocks. The marble is beautiful with white, pink and grays throughout. All marble pieces are also in amazing condition and 100% original to the clock. Included are the two original urns for the clock, there is some stress damage to the bottom most and top most metal pieces from 120+ years of being used, but there solid(See pictures) You usually do not see the original garnets with one of these clocks, most of the ... moretime during the years the clock becomes separated with it's urns, or the urns get destroyed. But these are the original matches to this clock, both marked underneath in the marble with the phrase"Made in France" in the same writing as the clock. One urn has a small crack in the small topmost piece of marble, it's stable, and unnoticeable. The clock itself is absolutely amazing, with 6 tall columns of marble, and the portico style free swinging pendulum in the shape of a basket of fruit, which matches perfectly with the other baskets of fruit on both the urns, and the clock itself. It is from my own personal collection and is one of the nicer clocks in my collection. I have owned the clock for a while and now it is time for another very lucky person to own and enjoy it as I have. The clock was made in the 1850- 1899 era in Paris. France by the celebrated Master Clockmaker Hry Marc. Hry Marc clocks are rare because of their quality and scarceness and when you see one for sale that you just love it is the time to buy it! It is in true superb mint condtion and there are no issues with the clock I can find whatsoever. The wood this clock is made from is just gorgeous! It is African rain forest wood and it can no longer be acquired because the international ... morerules and regulations protecting the rain forests prohibit the removal of the wood from the rain forest where it still exists. Just look at the pictures which show the beautiful exotic grains of this wood. AMAZING! When someone sees this clock displayed in your home they will first comment on the beauty of the wood and then notice the quality of the clock. Anyone who knows anything about French clocks knows Hry Marc clocks are certainly prized possessions and this one in particular shows the mastery of Hry Marc! Finials and the base are in perfect condition with no restorations. The bronze fittings and the ormolu are also perfect. There is a tiny damage to the hand painted enamel face just to the right of the number“6. I didn’t notice is at first, but one of the black feet is a replacement. The rest of the enamel face and the fancy gilt hands are perfect with no restorations. Both springs are in very good, strong condition and this clock is trying to rum without the pendulum attached. When I tried to attach t pendelum I noticed that the thin spring piece of metal that holds the pendulum to the clock is out of kilter. If this little piece is adjusted properly, I guarantee this clock will keep good time once again. There are no other problems or any restorations to this late 19 th century French marble and bronze Mantle Clock. Up for auction is an antique/ vintage French red marble figural clock. It depicts a peasant women with a rack and a bail of wheat by her feet. There is a basket with fruit on top of the clock. Its marked“France on the back” It also comes with 2 swan candle vases with marble bases. They are also marked“France” The clock still works and comes with the key. Its marked made in France on the front and in the back workings of the clock it says the following“No Auusted. No Jewels” and“MRE D’HORLOGERIE DE BETHUNE” underneath“made in France” with a swallow carrying a basket with“ME” inside(I think it says ME) The clock measures 5 ½ width. 14” length, 10 3/8” tall(top of women’s head) The candle holders are 4 ¾” wide, 10 3/8” tall. This piece has not been cleaned or polished. The inner brass edge around the dial is shining like new. There is(real) glass in front. The bronze base is richly decorated; the same goes for the bronze carriage handle on top of this clock. On the dail you will find the time in Roman numbers for the AM part and in Arabic numbers ... morefor the PM part. The dial also is diveded in 60 partitions; for each minute one partition. It comes with a paper dial which is in a extreme good condition. The hands are made of black metal. There is an extra metal alarm hand. To tell you when the alarm is set. Mext to the bell there is a handle to turn the alarm on and off. Having a windable movement which is running great. For the alarm goes the same! IBoth the time and alarm are adjustable on the rear of the clock. This clock pased time without major cosmetic issues. Overal this object is in a very good state but not new. Used products have signs of use. Mentionable is that one leg at the rear has been repaired inside the clock(photo 12)One winding handle is not original. A horse and chariot figurative mantle clock with a French movement that strikes on a bell. There is a chip on the porcelain dial at the 8 and 4 position around the winding holes. The beveled glass is in perfect condition. The base is marble and also is in good condition. The movement is stamped“ societe clusienne” S.C.A.P.H.Cluses. The clock is complete with pendulum and key. The clock does run when the pendulum is swung. But eventual stops.

Antique French figural slate mantle clock 19th
This French mantle clock is made of slate and has a woman carrying a basket on the top. The woman appears to be made of spelter. The clock is 15 inches high. 7 ¼ inches wide and 5 ¾ inches deep. There is an Eastlake style design on the case. The clock has a porcelain face with roman numerals on it for the hours. The face is signed but it has a lot of wear and we can’t read it. The front door has beveled glass. The clock dates circa 1880. The clock is currently running but we cannot guarantee it will still be running after shipment. The movement has the number 363 on it but does not have a maker. The bell has two nuts on it to hold it in place that are not original. There are a couple of tiny chips to the slate case. There is a very tiny chip to the porcelain by the right hole used to crank the clock.

French antique garniture set Lovely 3 piece set of a vase clock with matching candelabras. The porcelain is quite thin and has a matt bisque finish. There are flowers hand painted on it. The white color is enameled paint. The main color is a lovely deep sea blue/green. The flowers on it make it even nicer. I have never seen a set like this. Made around 1880-1900. The ornaments are partly made of brass and partly made of bronze. All the ornaments are original and in good. Antique condition, with only minor wear. The porcelain is also in very good condition, with no cracks. The clock dial is made of enamel. It does have some minor damage to it, look at the photo for the details. The doors of the clock don't perfectly close. They need some adjustment. The candelabras have 5 arms each. Their height is: 49 cm. This is a very beautiful South Georgia Estate Find. It is French Marble and Brass and very decorative. Yet still has a classic look. I do not know if this tem works or not but, it did seem to be running on the mantle when we bought it. No one at the estate could find the key for it. It is 14" in height to the top of the birds. 9" across the widest part of the base. The clock face is 3 1/2" in diameter. I could find no maker's name or identification except E.P. 7092 on the inner rim, and on the back of the works are 7092 64.One column does seem to have a crack in it but is still tight and doesn't shift. One screw has been replaced in the back casing. Other than that, and needing a good cleaning, it seems to be in great condition. Please view all pics carefully BEFORE bidding. Antique Bronze Gilt Clock Case No Movement French Tower Shelf Mantle
Up for auction is a beautiful case no matter what movement you slide in here! This piece(mind you I am NOT an expert) has a very European look. So I am guessing French. Please take a second(or 20) to look at the designs/patterns and come to your own conclusion. There are 2 stamps inside across from each other. Both markings are the same, it almost looks like a cup or Paul with an S on it. Other than that I have not a clue. But it is beautiful. And it is HEAVY! For auction is this beautiful Antique Japy Freres French Mantle Clock. The base is White Marble Onyx. This clock depicts a classical figure. A gentleman in period dress with a mandolin. The clock itself is set in a gilt case with a white porcelain dial. The base has lovely decorations with swag chains and patterns. It is very heavy. The movement is stamped"Japy Freres& Cie Grd Med. D'Honneur" means it(the movement) was made some time after the company(Japy Freres/Japy Brothers) won the Grand Medal of Honor(which they did at the Paris exhibition in 1855) they also won a medal in 1867. It shows they were awarded a medal at the 1855 Paris Exposition. It means that Japy Freres won an award in 1855 allowing them to display the award on their movements until the time a nother award might be won at a future exposition. Such as ... morethe 1867 Paris Exposition. I cannot see any date on the stamp. The movement also has the number 5488 stamped on it. I got this at an Estate Auction. It did not come with the key but has the bell and pendulum. I started the pendulum and the clock ran for about 30 minutes. For sale is a circa 1870 French 5 Column Marble Mantle Clock. It has an eight day movement striking a bell on the hour and half hour via a count wheel. The movement is signed Japy Freres& Cei. I can find no flaws in the marble or the brass decorations. The flower decorated porcelain dial has no blemishes or cracks. All of the gold wash ormolu is in very good condition. The pendulum rods do show some light surface rust. The glass dial door closes and stays shut but doesnt click tight. The dimensions are 18 ½” tall. 9 ¼” wide and 4 ½” deep at the base. The clock runs great. The pictures will show the clock. This clock is from the estate of a relative. This clock appears to function as intended but I obviously can't make any warranty. EXTRAORDINARY ANTIQUE PHILIPPE FRENCH DORE BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK
This is a fine French Philippe bronzed antique mantle clock. It was made ca. 1875. Very impressive ornate ormolu from top to bottom. The dial has white porcelain medallions with roman numerals and a porcelain"label" Philippe FT. 66 Palais-Royal, 67, which was the address of a very upscale Parisian gallery. The glass on the front is beveled and appears to be original as is the beveled glass on the back door. The front and reticulated sides of the clock are a superb blend of golden bronze and ebony, as is the surmounted ebony, which could be onyx, and bronze urn finial. The clock has bronzed floral swags draping the urn and draping between the two full columns on each front side. The pictures describe the clock better than I can. The movement is marked G. Philippe, 66, Palais-Royal, 67. Clock measures almost 19" in height, approx. ... more11 1/2" in width, and approx. 6" in depth. Outside case of the clock is dusty and needs to be cleaned. The inside looks to me to be clean. I hung the numbered pendulum on the clock only for the picture so it most likely is not hanging right because I know hardly nothing about clocks. The pendulum will be removed and wrapped separately for shipping. On one side a leaf is missing. I do have the large floral ring that is off. It is not noticeable unless you are looking for it due to all of the fancy work all over the clock. I do not have a key but I think I can find one that fits. Please do not count on that if you decide to bid. If there are any other imperfections that I have not seen but show up in a picture, it will be considered as described. The clock was purchased at an estate sale that had quite a collection of various kinds of clicks. I have listed everything that I know about the clock. I do not make money on shipping. As of 1-26-14 the USPS raised their rates. For safe shipping this clock will require what the post office deems an oversized box. The clock is also VERY heavy. Antique French Eight Day Drumhead Mantle Clock Timepiece VAP BREVETE Circa 1890 This is a small 19th Century French eight day'Drumhead' mantle clock that was retailed by Chapple in London around 1890. It has a dead beat escapement timepiece movement with pendulum inside a nicely finished wood drum case supported on a plain plinth. This clock has a white dial with Roman hours and moon hands. The backplate is stamped"VAP BREVETE" within an oval. The original instructions are still mounted on the inside of the brass cover on the back of the clock. See photos) This antique clock is part of a large private collection in Southern California. It is in good condition and the timepiece runs properly.
