Up for auction is a Jumbo cup and saucer set in the blue SPODE'S TOWER pattern. Made by Copeland from 1920ies to the 1950ies(first introduced in 1814) The set is in very good condition and looks rarely used. The surface is shiny and bright. The transfer pattern is in a strong blue color, depicting the Bridge of Salerno with a floral border in the Camilla shape. The cup measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter on the top and is 3 5/8 inches tall. It is in ecxellent condition except for a rough stained spot on the unglazed bottom rim(see pictures) The saucer has a diameter of 8 5/8 inches and a height of 1 3/4 inches. This auction is for a L ovely and O ld Transferware Trio: A cup and saucer and plate made by New Wharf Pottery of England. They are in the company's"Oriental" pattern in the blue green color. Which is very hard to come by and dates to c1891. The pattern is a floral border design with vignettes of castle scenes. The saucer and plate have center patterns of a man on a camel. The cup measures 4 1/2 inches across with the handle and is in very good condition without any chips or cracks. The plate is 9 inches across and has no chips or cracks. It has some minor toning. Antique Transferware Tea Cup& Saucer Welcome to my auction! For your consideration is a lovely black transferware ceramic tea cup and saucer. Late 19th century, made in England. The printed decorations depict a rural scene with a mother and children and what appears to be a fisherman( Cup measures 3.5 inches in diameter, the saucer is 5.75 inches. Total weight of both pieces is approximately 7 ounces. Condition: No major damages. But the saucer has a spidering hairline crack on the underside.this is only visible on the bottom. The cup has a small and very faint spidering hairline crack in its side and a small hairline in the base.this is also only visible from the bottom. Minor signs of wear to both pieces, consistent with light use over the years. There is also a little crazing to the glaze in a few areas. Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Blue Transferware Cup& Saucer c1825 ~ Two Men Fishing Near Castle ~ Enoch Wood& Sons? ~ Saucer is 5 3/4" in diameter ~ Cup is 2 1/2" high by 3 3/4" across the lip An early English pearlware cup and saucer set printed with medium dark blue transfer of a scene that is only printed on a teaset. I'm not sure if this transfer is attributed to Enoch Wood with any marked examples but to me it seems probable. They are both of the same fine quality and type of printing as the grapevine border series plate I have listed. The scene is a river with a bridge in the distance and a castle ruin on the left with two young men fishing at the bank, in the foreground there are two leaning pine trees. The border is different roses and tulips. Both pieces of this set have lovely scalloped or ruffled ... morerims painted cobalt blue. In excellent condition; the saucer has a very fine hairline about 2" long that can be seen on close inspection. The cup is excellent with only some very minor pinpoint losses around the rim. Displays beautifully. below. There is a very fine hairline in the sky near the trees, it is shallow and hard to see. The bottom of the saucer has what looks like a painted"W' but not sure. Thomas Meyer, "Canova" Staffordshire Transferware Cup and Saucer, c 1828
For your consideration we offer a wonderful and very old Staffordshire transferware tea bowl and saucer in the"Canova" pattern from Thomas Meyer. This dates to the late 1820"s. Pattern is registered as"Canova#20" in the Transferware Collectors Club Database. In black and white. Bat applied transfers, with scalloped edges on both pieces, a classic Romantic Period scene of a musician playing a mandolin, a lady standing next to him, lavish foliage and a large urn, next to a river. On the far bank, classical Renaissance towers and a columned building. The border features robust bouquets of flowers, interspersed with three reserves depicting a boat on the water sailing by the urn on a plinth, with mountains in the far distance. Just gorgeous! Reverse of the saucer has a partial mark. And you can just make out the"yer" ... moreof Mayer. The tea cup is without handles, as common in this time. Both are in fine condition. there is a tiny loss on the outside rim of the bowl, which really does not detract from the beauty or the value of this lovely old set, almost 200 years old. This is a lovely addition to a black and white or a Canova collection. Or a tea bowl collection. The engraving is fantastic, the color is strong, overall the glaze is strong too. Ebay Listing Page Antique Staffordshire Asian Scene Blue Transferware Cup& Saucer I tem Description: Up for auction is a beautiful antique medium blue transferware cup and saucer manufactured in Staffordshire. England during the early 1800s. The cup and saucer features an Asian motiff, and the pattern is called Asiatic Temple as marked on the bottom of the saucer. Overall the saucer measures approximately 5 5/8" in diameter and the cup stands about 2 3/8" tall. Item Condition: The overall condition of the set is excellent. It is extremely clean and has no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas with the exception of a tiny flake on the bottom footrim of both the cup and saucer. The white earthenware is still very bright and the blue color is deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with fine consistent crazing. This auction is for a Fantastic Purple Transferware Ironstone Handleless Cup and Saucer Set made in the mid 1800s by Edward Challinor& Co. of England. It is the company's Lovely Rosette pattern. Which is a purple Victorian Scroll and Floral design with hand applied coloring of green, red, yellow and blue under the glaze. The saucer measures about 6 inches across and the cup is about 2 3/4 inches tall. Pieces in this pattern and this color are very hard to come by especially in this condition. There are no chips or cracks or repairs in either piece. The colors and the design are clear and bright. The saucer has the Rosette backstamp. Edward Challinor& Co. operated in Tunstall. Up for auction is this F. Morley England transferware polychrome handleless cup and saucer. Purple transferware with yellow. Blue and green polychrome images of ancient Egyptian structures and flowers highlight this spectacular pattern. Both cup and saucer have multi paneled faceted sides. Fully marked on the bottom with the Morley Cleopatra logo on the bottom of the saucer. Saucer also marked with a"P" and an artist mark. Cup has an indented identifying mark. Saucer measures about 5 3/4 inches in diameter and cup measures 4 inches in diameter X 3 inches tall. Cup is footed. This pattern was produced by F. Morley, England from about 1845-1850. Vtg 18th C. antique red transferware cup & saucer bowl.Putti cherubs making wine
The saucer bowl is in very good condition overall. Just one small pop in the glaze that occurred when made. It's teeny. Also a natural wrinkle in the porcelain on the edge. Again. Just a typical minor"flaw" that is normal for pieces from this period. The cup, however, has not been so lucky over the last 230 years or so. But it has held it's shape. It has 2 cracks through one side. One crack also has a small flake chip in it on the outside. They are not superficial but the cup is not so compromised that it is about to break. It will display very well. The cup's decal has faded a bit more than the bowl which is not faded and sharp. Clearly the cup was used. The saucer is 1 1/4"H and 5 1/2"W. The cup is 2 1/4"H and 3 1/2"W. Antique Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Medium Blue Transferware Cup and Saucer c1830 ~ Young Man Reading Among The Ruins ~ Saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter ~ cup is 3 3/8" across the top. 2 1/4" high A Staffordshire pearlware handless cup and saucer by an unknown potter in excellent condition. This pattern seems to me somewhat derived from the Willow pattern but with Romantic overtones. I don't think the young man or woman belongs in the willow story but there is a Chinese pagoda in the distance and two birds. The cup has one cartouche with the reader and the other side with the Gothic ruin. The borders of both cup and the saucer are filled with different passion flowers. The rim border of the cup is particularly nice as well. In excellent condition. There are the tiniest glaze flaws from manufacture but nothing I ... morewould call damage. Thanks for looking! Rare Early Spode Staffordshire Pearlware Blue Transferware Cup& Saucer ~ Fine Printing of the Love Chase Pattern ~ Saucer is 5" in diameter ~ cup is 3 1/4" across the top and 2 1/4" high A beautiful. Very finely potted pearlware cup and saucer in the rare'Love Chase' pattern by Spode, unmarked but very few of the early pieces in this pattern were. The pattern shows the mythological story of Atlanta chased by suitors and Milanion who won the race and her hand by distracting her with golden apples. The border of the saucer and inside the cup is a stylized band of flowers. The centers of both show a bow and arrow with doves. The cup is in excellent condition with only the most minimal wear around the top rim and footrim; the footrim has the tiniest sliver chip. The saucer has one shallow small chip at the border on ... morethe face. And the back shows one long hairline(only goes through 1" from rim) and three tiny hairlines and a flake from the footrim. Romantic era transferware, includes a matching cup and saucer, plus a stag pattern saucer. Black and white transferware from England are most likely Staffordshire. The colors are black and cream with gold gilt edge(coppery gold) Exquisite images on both sides of the cup- features rural birds on one side. And an outdoor scene with a lady and her servants. The saucer also shows the figural scene. These two pieces are unmarked on the bottom. The second saucer also has fine detail. It features a stag and some deer in a field outside a castle. There is a black transfer mark above the woodland scene. The saucer has a crack on the bottom and is marked"Rural" SIZE: Cup width across is 3-1/4 inches. Height ... moreis 2-1/4 inches. HTF antique W.R. Midwinter "Landscape" multi-color transferware cup and saucer
Offered for your consideration is this highly detailed and richly colored transfer cup and saucer in the"Lanscape" pattern from W.R. Midwinter. England, in the first half of the 20th century. The scene contains architectural structures, people strolling about and a well maintained English style garden. The scene is surrounded by a wide band of scrollwork and stylized flowers. A very busy pattern! The cup is 4½" wide including the handle, 3-5/8" in diameter at the rim, 1½" in diameter at the slightly footed base and stands 2½" tall. Early 19thc. child's transferware and enameled cup and saucer
Early 19thc. child's cup and saucer. May be soft paste. The brown transferware oriental scene of a lady by a river with a fountain. Urn, and architecture is handpainted in green, pink and yellow enamel. The scene is inside the bowl of the cup as well as the center of the saucer. Various brown transferware patterns are used to accentuate. The saucer scene is surrounded by a tiny raised bead. No mark. Excellent condition. Saucer is 4.5"w, cup is 2"h with a 3"w mouth.

Offered here is a handle less cup and saucer made by Joseph Heath in"Ontario Lake Scenery" pattern that was produced c.1870. The cup has twelve panels with the pattern in the bottom of the cup. Around the inside rim and around the outside. It measures 3" high x 3 1/2" in diameter. The saucer has the matching pattern on the inside and around the rim with the name JHEATH impressed in the bottom together with the mark for Ontario Lake Scenery. It measures 5 3/4" in diameter. They both show a little wear and the saucer has a tiny chip on the inside where the cup sits. This is a beautiful antique Tea cup and Saucer manufactured in England by Powell. Bishop, and Stonier in the brown version of their"Chelsea" pattern Rd2665. This early English transferware has a circa date of about 1884. The saucer measures 6" wide x1 1/2" deep and is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips, staining or crazing. The color and glaze are still strong. The cup is 3" tall x 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. There is a small chip on the bottom(see picture) you cannot see this chip when it is right side up.
