ANTIQUE ESTATE SIGNED PM BAVARIA TEACUP& SAUCER This pretty teacup and saucer is in gently used condition. It does not have any chips or crazing that we could find. The cup is marked: PM in an open wreath with Bavaria under it. Because of this back stamp we can date this between 1895-1910. It is multi colored. But the top of the cup and the rim around the saucer have a pretty blue green type of color. This is what we see with our eyes and may not be the exact color. It features a light touch of gold gilt and has raised tiny beads around the top of the cup and around the inside rim of the saucer. The cup is back stamped, but the saucer is not. The cup measures approx. 3" tall and is approx. 2 1/2" across the opening. The bottom of the cup is approx. 1 3/4" wide. The saucer measures approx. 4 3/4" across. This is a very beautiful antique teacup and saucer. It is hand painted and is signed by the artist. Appears to be from 1908 making it over 100 years old. Artwork is quite beautiful. It is very pretty. But not perfect. Back in the 1900's when there was damage to a piece of porcelain, they would often staple it somehow to avoid the hairline from spreading or the piece breaking. I can't imagine how you can staple something so delicate without damaging it, but it did do the job. It is very difficult to see the hairline on the top, only way I see it is on the bottom. The repair is done very well as I think it was done professionally. Beautiful set. Displays quite lovely. Teacup is 3-1/2 inches and the saucer is 6 inches across. Photos are part of the description.
