Vintage E-OH China Hand Painted Nippon Tea Cup Saucer Enamel Trimmed Flowers
Up for auction a charming hand-painted tea cup& saucer set made by E-OH China Nippon. It is made of a delicate translucent china and decorated with green leaves. Pink and purple flowers with yellow centers. The petals of the flowers are formed by raised white enamel and the centers are also outlined with dots of raised enamel. The rim of the cup and the handle are trimmed in gold. The gold trim on the cup and saucer is worn, but not on the handle. The cup handle is a little crooked, giving it an almost primitive look and, I think, adds to its charm. There is a very small dark spot on the outside of the cup and a few brown spots on the inside. The saucer has a small surface scuff and some shelf wear on the underside. The cup is 3 inches tall and 3 5/8 inches wide(not including the handle. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches wide. The cup does not have a mark on the bottom, only the saucer. The cup measures 2 inches high and the diameter is 4 inches. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. Both in excellent condition with no chips or scratches.

Cup is 2.5" tall, 2" in diameter at the base and 3" at the rim- it's perfectly proportioned, gorgeous design- black and gold and violets. There is fading of the gold accents. There are no chips, cracks- what looks like a hairline crack in the cup(please look at the pictures) is under its glazing and feels smooth to the touch on both sides- this happens with aging porcelain and could have been there from when it was made in the kiln. Antique~19th C Maple leaf Nippon~jeweled~moriage footed teacup tea cup saucer
This week we have one of the most amazing examples of a true late 19th century Nippon. Moriage teacup and saucer. This piece is highly decorated with lots of gold moriage with jeweled sage green embelishments. There are two hand painted scenic medallions on the cup and two on the saucer. They cup is signed with the old circa 1881 maple leaf Nippon(hand painted) mark on the bottom. They cup and saucer are in near mint condition with the only issue being one tiny spot of missing gold under the handle(you can see this in the photo I have included with the hallmark) Other than that they are in perfect and mint condition. This piece also is done with a rare three footed base. The cup measures 4 5/8" x 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" tall and the saucer is 5 5/8" across.
