A very accurate& high quality reproduction using designs drawn by Benjamin Franklin in London in 1757. By Thwaites& Reed Limited of London, the world's oldest established clockmakers. Dates around the mid 1950's. Excellent used condition with only minor signs of wear. All in complete perfect working order. Complete with original adjustable pendulum& weights. Antique German or Dutch Black Forest Wag on the Wall Shield Clock Here we have a very lovely German or Dutch Wag on the Wall Clock done in the black forest style. I believe it dates back between 1830 and 1850. The clock has a wonderful hand painted face featuring roses. It measures 13-5/8” long. By approximately 10” wide and 5” deep. The face does have a crack that runs from top to bottom which has been repaired from the back. It has a combination of metal works attached to wood plates. The hands look like they are heavy cut steel. The two weights that come with the clock look like cuckoo clock weights and I don’t know if they are original. The clock is missing its pendulum. Therefore the works are untested and the clock is being sold as found. They do look to be in good order. They also strike the hour on a gong. Here for auction is what I believe to be a clock movement dated around the late 1800's. This is probably a Black Forest Wag on Wall Shield Clock. The movement appears to be in working condition with the proper repairs as it has obviously been sitting for some time. It is weight driven by 2 heavy weight drive chains which I am including. The chains alone are very nice collectable parts. The frame measures 9" tall x 6" wide. If anyone out there knows about this clock I would love to know where it is from and how old it is. I am not a clock collector and know very little about old clocks. I do. However, know that this estate clock is truly old; it may be German. It has the weights and chains and pendulum. I believe this type is"weight driven" I see no markings and I don’t know if it is in working condition. You are purchasing it as it is. The enamel is in good condition; the china surround with flower decoration is in good shape, but I do notice a hairline on one side. See photo close up. Antique Wag-on-Wall Clock This is a wonderful antique early 1800's working Wag-on-Wall Clock. This clock chimes on the hour and keeps great time. The chime is a bright bell ring not a gong style sound. The wooden case actually has one side that has been fashioned out of an old wooden cigar box. The hand painted face of the clock measures 17 1/2" in Height and 12" in Width. The clock with the Pendulum measures 42" from the very top of the clock to the base of the pendulum. The clock is approximately 8" in Depth. There is some paint chipping around the outer edge and one larger area missing paint in the bottom right corner(see photos) The photos that appear a little yellower were taken without a flash. The weights are currently hung on rope which functions perfectly so I am not sure if they ever were on chains and adds ... moreto the charm of this primitive time piece. There are 2 newer"L" brackets that have been added by a previous owner to the case for reinforcement and strength(see photo) This clock requires care when hanging since it's proper function depends on being well balanced. RARE 8 day w/ calendar Black Forest German Shield Wag on Wall Clock DRESCHER? Here we have a RARE Signed German Wag on the Wall Clock. This clock has an 8 day movement with third hand calendar sweep. The clock is signed on the back of the face and movement plate. These signatures are hard to read but appear to read A Dk and J Drescher. The front of the movement is also stamped PB. The face is enameled wood and has a domed center. It has floral painting at the top and corners. It appears that the dial cracked and was glued back together at some point. The back of the dial has a signature and also what appears to be a repair date. The dial measures 13 1/2" wide and 19" high to the top of the arch. Now to the movement. The plates are made of hardwood( possibly oak) These plates are fitted with bronze or brass bushings. The gears are ... morebrass with steel shafts( pinions) The clock movement strikes a gong on the hour and utilizes a count wheel. This back plate has a hole for hanging it on the wall. Someone also mounted a plank on the bottom to use it in a case. The weight pullies are brass and are suspended from the movement with what appears to be heavy nylon fishing line. The pendulum looks like a newer piece. It has a wooden bob and metal shaft. The clock was oiled and I had the clock running with 14 lbs of weigth on the time side and 12 lbs on the chime side. With this weight it ran accurately and kept time. It would occassionally stop about halfway down the weight travel. No weights are being sold with the clock. Overall this is a neat old time piece.
