We have up for sale a nice old German shelf clock. Has been running in our house. There is no glass on face. There is paint scuffs on case and looks like the little knob on top of case has been reglued. On back of case there is a label saying Teutonia Clock Manufactory. Under trademark shows Made in Baden. Under that is the word Warranted, then P.H.S, then it is numbered(can make out only 351) The P.H.S stands for Phillip Haas& Sohn. There is another label at the top on back of case saying(name) Jeweler and Silversmith established(unreadable) then Hemel Hemstead. There is small damage to the wood on case where this label is(as shown in pic) On the movement there is a mark with P.H.S with a rabbit above it. Comes with pendulum and key. Antique 1860's Black Forest Picture Frame Time/Strike Wall Clock
c.1860 Picture Frame Clock Wooden case with original black finish. Brass surround, porcelain dial. Front cover with original wavy glass enclosed in wood frame with latch, comes with pendulum& weights. Dial does have a few faint hairlines but no chips. Movement with wooden plates is running but will need some repair before use. The wheel the chain rides on(the one that makes the clock tick) is held to it's shaft by a retaining spring that is broken(see photo of me pointing to that) It also tends to strike the hour repeatedly without stopping but seems to work better with lighter weight. The wood sides that house the movement are held in place with small metal latches. One side is missing both, to hang safely these will need repaired. The original pendulum has the suspension wire attached. Waterbury Clock- Antique Carriage Time Strike Repeater A very. Very nice, ornate Waterbury Time Strike Repeater carriage clock. Four patent dates are on the back panel: 1878, 1880, 1880 and 1891. How it runs: It does not consistently run. Though it is wound up. Tilted the right way, it will run for a few seconds sometimes. However, if you advance the time to an hour or half hour, it will strike once for each hour(8 times for 8 o'clock) and once on the half hour. When the repeater button is depressed, it will also strike once. Also, on the bottom, it appears the chime it strikes against is missing(see photos, please) On the back, down on the bottom edge, there is a small nick that went through to the metal below(about 1/8" long) Glass front has a very small chip in the upper left corner(about 1/8" by 1/16" There are some ... morevery small blackish dust looking particles on the interior of the glass. Clock measures 4 3/4" high with handle down. 3 1/4" wide. 2 1/2" deep. The back panel still has the knob and piece inside to close properly.
