The clock is in very fine condition and complete it is in running and keeping very good time. Fitted with a Seth Thomas double spring, detached eleven jeweled escapement, compensating balance wheel, Breguet hairspring, cut steel pinions, and heavy milled solid brass plates. These movements were Seth Thomas' very high end performers and where also used in their railroad clocks. The dial is engraved and silvered and is very clean. The clock movement is all housed in a solid heavy cast brass case with hinged plate glass bezel and keyed door lock.

Pleased to offer this beautiful 1870s vintage Seth Thomas 8 Day Oak Case gingerbread Mantel Clock. Older restoration. Needs a good cleaning inside from years of sitting with no back on it. Someone cut a new back board and didn't finish the project; both boards are included. I blew the dust out as best as I could with a can of air, oiled what I could reach without removing the movement and set it running. It will go for about 5 minutes and then stops. See the pics, it needs a good cleaning in there! The case is really nice with a bit of wood loss on the top edge and a small piece of veneer missing from the back right side piece- see last pic. Finish is really nice. Original face shows age but is still presentable. Brass columns and florets on the front. Neat clock. 12 1/2" tall, 13" wide at the base. Offering a beautiful antique Seth Thomas Arch Top mantle clock. This circa 1880 spring driven clock strikes a gong for the hour. This lovely clock has a walnut case with burled walnut on front panel. Lower portion and rim around dial. The burl in lower section has some roughness. There is some minor chips to the veneer on lower front edge. This is barely noticeable. There is a chip in the lower right corner and inside corner(see photo. The original Seth Thomas movement has been cleaned. Adjusted and lubricated with synthetic clock lubricant. This movement is in very good operating condition. The original Seth Thomas Roman numeral dial is in very good condition. There is some paint loss near the holding screws and the winding arbors. The hands appear to be newer replacements. This clock has a locking latch on the side to lock the front door. ... moreThis is locked with winding key. Up for auction is an excellent early Seth Thomas 8-day key wind chime clock circa late 19th century. It has a beautiful. Carved and painted arched wood case, a reverse painted glass portrait of a female figure, metal dial with Roman numerals, old paper lining with instructions. It is in very good condition with wear consistent with age. Crazing and chipping to the finish on the dial, paint wear and patina, some wear to the painting, light surface wear to the wood, light soiling. Clock was given a small wind and it began to run, but was not further tested. Chime is in functioning order. Comes with a receipt from 1992 showing an overhaul. Also comes with a key. I have up sale a very nice vintage Seth Thomas 8 Day Automatic Clock. 24 hour cycle- mahogany case with painted tin dial face. This is a good looking clock and is an unusual style for an alarm clock. The clock stands approx 6-1/2" tall including the little feet on the bottom, 6-1/2" wide, and approx 3-3/4" deep and weighs a little less than 3 lbs. The case is in great shape.
