I had always hoped to find some time one day to do whatever is needed on this gorgeous old clock but I simply don't have time these days.wish I did. This is a very rare. Unusual, carriage clock that was created about 100 years or so ago in the USA by the New Haven Clock Company though it is not marked as such. That doesn't surprise me since it was not an international requirement until 1920. It is one of the rarest American clocks produced and one of the tiniest yet real clocks I've ever seen in an ultra-fancy desk clock. The clock looks to have had very little use and probably just sat ... moreon display all these years like it has here since we've owned it. It is a thick. Rather heavy, brass cased desk clock with beautiful deco features and a fancy swiveling brass carriage handle on the very top. The dial is thick porcelain with a fancy copper center. The dial features easy to read, fancy black arabic numerals to mark the hours and matching metal hands to point out the time. The back is open to allow easy access to the time setting knob and winding key on the brass back. The movement is fully intact save one small screw. The hands turn freely to adjust the time but the clock doesn't wind to work; not sure why. The clock has a magnificent patina going for it and no damage that I can see. The clock is absolutely stunning on display and a perfect size measuring about 4 1/2" high to the tip of the handle, about 1 3/4" deep, and about 2 1/2" wide across the base. This is a very nice and interesting piece. It is German made and has the 4 balls like an anniversary clock. The front has a drawer. When it is opened it plays music very well. The piece stands 6 1/8" tall and is 6 1/2" wide and 3 1/4" deep. Measurements are approximate. The side panels are rigid plastic. The top is brass and the remaining body is brass toned metal. Made in France. Clock has 7 jewel. Mechanical wind, movement with illuminated dial and alarm. This little clock is a bit more RARE due to it's round carriage style shape. Back opens& locks to show mechanics of the clock and it is in great looking and working condition. There is some wear to the brass casing but normal for it's age. The beveled window is plastic with no visible scratches and the dial is super clean. Clock measures 5½" to tip of hanger and about 3" bottom diameter. Weight is just under 2 lbs. Antique dent of London chiming mechanical carriage clock this is a very nice clock and would make a nice addition to anyone's collection. Clock is in good working order. The solid brass case is in good condition but the one glass side panels has chip to top corner and back door also has a small chip. The chips are hardly noticeable until closer inspection. I have taken pictures so you can judge for your self. But glass can be replaced if needed. Also dial does show signs of wear around centre so examined pictures before bidding. Antique 1911 Megantic Miniature Carriage Mechanical Travel Clock
This sale is for an antique Megantic miniature carriage clock with mechanical movement. The case is made brass and it needs to be cleaned. The case has some scratches and wear. The beveled glass crystals are in nice condition with a small edge chip on the inside front at the bottom. The dial is free from cracks. But has a bit of discoloration. The dial is marked Megantic March 11th, 1911. One of the hands has fallen off and is inside of the glass. The movement looks pretty clean, but it will not run. There are no visible markings on the back of the movement except for f and s for speed regulation. The clock is 2 and 3/8 inches tall to the top plate, 3 inches with the handle standing up. It is approximately 2 and 1/16 inches wide, and about 1 and 3/8 inches thick at the base. The back door latch functions, keeping the door from opening. ca1890's BRASS MECHANICAL 8 DAY CARRIAGE CLOCK W/ PORCELAIN DIAL MADE IN FRANCE THIS CLOCK RUNS AND KEEPS GREAT TIME. THIS CLOCK COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL CRANK STYLE KEY. THIS CLOCK WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IS A GOOD RUNNING PIECE. WE OBTAINED IT FROM A LARGE ESTATE AUCTION WITH MANY CLOCKS IN THE COLLECTION FROM BOSTON MA. THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS AN AVID COLLECTOR OF CLOCKS& TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF THEIR COLLECTION. IT FEATURES A GLASS WINDOW FOR THE SLOW OR FAST ADJUSTMENT. IT'S A MECHANICAL WIND WITH THE ORIGINAL KEY. THE DIAL FACE IS PORCELAIN WITH BLACK ARABIC NUMERALS AND GUN BLUE CLOCK HANDS. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE PORCELAIN DIAL. THE BEVELED GLASS PANELS ARE ALL CRACK AND CHIP FREE.
