It is about 3” Deep and Measuring at the bottom, it is about 3 ½” Deep. It is in fairly good working order although it does seem to lose about 10 to 15 minutes in a 24 to 30 hour period of time. I bought it as an objet d’art to display on a bookshelf so I rarely wound it. I was always afraid of over-winding it but on occasion would wind it about ... more11 turns and it would then work for about 30 hours. I purchased it from a Dealer in England a number of years ago. Following is the information provided to me about it at the time I purchased it from him. The general condition is quite good with areas of ageing as to be expected for such an old time piece. The Glass Window is in fine condition. I was told that the lower panel is painted. But I’m really not sure if it is painted or if it is some sort of beautiful decal because it is applied from the inside of the glass. When you touch it with door open, you can feel it. Regardless, it is really lovely! The Pendulum and Key are original. The Dealer based the Clock’s age on two facts. First that he feels that the Dial is Painted. I think the face is probably Tin or maybe some other Metal. He told me that the Painted Dial was a rare art which stopped at the beginning of the Twentieth Century. Also. There is some sort of‘scribble’ at the bottom that seems to read 4 05. I also see the letter“M” so perhaps it is either the maker or artist’s signature. I really do not know. This unique Beehive shaped clock has a porcelain face that is in remarkable condition it does have age to it and a minor hairline; looking closely to the face it brings us back to a time long gone when porcelain was used to present a solid appearance vice a metal/paper look. The hands are original and in very good condition. The case is carved oak with hard trim around the base. This clock has solid chimes on the hour and bell chime for the half hour. The hammer ... moreis in wonderful condition and movement cleaned up real well.the brass shows quite well when opening the back door. We did need to install our high quality bushings on the pivot holes that were rounded or ovaled. With the new bushings. It may need cleaning and adjustment, otherwise it is in great condition. I believe the case is by Royal Bonn. An original label on the back identifies it as Parlour No. 89 Cobalt. See photo. Edwardian Silver plated Ornate Desk Mantle Mantel CLOCK WORKING Antique little clock. Estate find! It was completely black when I found it. Took it to a jeweler/watch shop and he verified it is silver plated. It is a heavy metal with a solid bottom. Patent on the back says October. 28. 1902. Look like a Ansonia. But not sure. I did clean polish it. But it could use more. The porcelain face shows great age. But you can still see the Arabic numerals. It has a ornate medallion in the middle where the hands attach. The case is very fancy with flower blossoms. Vines and leaves. It also shows signs of age and wear. Measures 4 1/2" x 3" The clock movement is in a brass case. It is a mechanical wind. Has a fast/slot for adjustment. It is in working condition. See all my other timepieces. I list daily and questions are welcome!

Up for bid is an ANTIQUE NEW HAVEN MANTEL WEIGHT DRIVEN MANTLE CLOCK.RUNS BUT NO PENDULUM OR KEY. It is in overall very good condition. It does have some chips in the wood along the bottom and some scratch marks on it. The glass and the dial are in great condition. The clock does run. But very fast since I do not have the pendulum for it. The gong sounds very weak. I believe the spring for it is worn. When winding it up it feels like it's slipping. The clock itself winds up great. I have a key for a personal clock that fits this one, that's how I tested it. It measures 18" long, 7 1/2" wide, and 12" tall. I am listing it with NO RESERVE. On offer I have an old vintage MANTLE CLOCK Key Wind. Key is included. In poor condition. Not working, good for restoration project or parts. Found as-is.Clock has been sitting in an old factory loft for 40 years or more and is very dusty and marked. Glass front missing? One foot pad missing on one side. Wood veneer is dry and cracked. Open little door at back and the movement looks quite good still and looks like there's a pendulum bob. I'm not an expert and I don't know if it's complete so please see photos for a closer look at parts. Can't see a makers mark but it does have Made in England on clock face and back movement. I moved the pendulum by hand and it moved the hands for a few minutes and I placed the hand right before 9 o'clock and it moved to 9 on it's own and the hammer struck the chime 9 times on it's on.but other than that. I did not spend a lot of time moving the pendulum by hand. The glass door face is not cracked or chipped. The Numbers face is curled in a few spots which you should be able to see in the photos. It does show scratches and scuffs as you can see by the photos. It is missing the back cover.it comes just like you see it. One of the front legs is a little loose. I think it's just a matter of missing a nail. The clock measures: approx. 15" Long x 10 1/4" Tall x 6" Wide I did not polish or clean the clock.
