Beautifully modelled and finished in glorious ormolu(finely gilded bronze or doré bronze) It is of balloon form with bold scrolls and acanthus swags. To the top a large rococo flourish. The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard. The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The bezel is marked for the retailer Charles Hour. The French movement is of high quality and has the makers mark on the movement backplate of Louis Japy. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker and thoroughly tested before presenting it for sale. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running! Condition of the case is excellent. Beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It ... morewas made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. You can see what looks like some"separations" in the metal but it is not damage- some pieces were cast separately. Please see the close up pictures for the best description of the cosmetic condition. ANTIQUE MANTEL CLOCK. THIS ONE IS AN ANTIQUE 1930'S REVERE/ TELECHRON. A BEAUTIFUL CLOCK! WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT OLD CLOCKS, SO ANY INFO YOU COULD GIVE WOULD BE HELPFUL! THIS ONE DOES HAVE THE ENTIRE CORD ATTCHED STILL, BUT WE RECOMMEND ONE CHANGE THE CORD/PLUG. CLOCK HAS BEEN PLUGGED IN. STARTED TO CHIME RIGHT AWAY. CHECKED TO HEAR/SEE THE CLOCK RUNNING. SHE STILL WORKS AFETR ALL THESE YEARS! THE WOOD HOUSING IS NICE. BUT IT HAS SOME SCRATHCES AND MARKS FROM YEARS OF USE. DECORATIVE WOOD FRONT. THE FACE OF CLOCK CAN BE OPENED. MADE OF BRASS AND GLASS. THERE IS A LITTLE PLACE AT TOP OF CLOCK FACE THAT CAN BE CHANGED FROM RED TO WHITE. HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS FOR.DAY/NIGHT MAYBE? THE HANDS ARE METAL. THE CORD COMING OUT OF HOUSING HAS LOST THE BROWN COVERING, BUT THE TWO WIRES STILL HAVE MOST OF THEIR BLACK COVERING. WE SAY MOST BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME AREAS THAT CONCERNS US. A LITTLE THIN ON THREAD. BUT CAN'T FEEL ANY BARE WIRES. AT THE PLUG YOU CAN SEE A BARE WIRE ATTACHED. AND THERE IS NO COVER TO HIDE THE BRASS INSIDE THE PLUG BUT. WIRES ATTACHED INSIDE PLUG LOOK GREAT. CORD AND PLUG STILL WORK. BUT USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. IT WOULD BE BEST TO REPLACE BEFORE CONTINUED USE. THE SERIAL# AND MODEL# ARE VISIBLE AND LEDGIBLE. Antique Waterbury large mantel clock wood case bell/gong strike running
Antique large wood case Waterbury mantel clock. I running condition. Clock movement has Bell strike on the half hour and gong strike at the top of the hour for the appropriate amount of hours. Bell strike is sharp and crisp, gong hour strike is deep and mellow. Clock case is in solid condition with a few nicks and scuffs denoting age. Back door has a bit of wear. Clock dial paper appears to be original, and has a few watermarks. Clock has been running and keeping good time for the last few weeks. Black painted wood case, with nice intricate brass legs and accents. I had to make a key for the clock, that has the correct wind and time adjustment fittings. Clock measures 15 3/5 inches wide, 5 7/8th inches deep, 11 1/2 inches tall. Clock might require some adjustment after shipping.
