THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION THAT I HAVE STARTED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE FOR THIS CLOCK. You are bidding on a BEAUTIFUL condition Antique RARE HAMBURG AMERICAN"ARRET" GRAND SONNERIE GERMAN MADE WALL CLOCK. IT HAS THE DOUBLE CROSSED ARROWS STAMPED ON THE MECHANISM WHICH TELLS US WHO MADE IT. THE CLOCK CASE WAS ALL HAND CARVED IN hAMBURG GERMANY, THUS THE NAME HAMBRUG-AMERICAN. IN GERMANY THE COMPANY WAS KNOWN AS" HAMBURG- AMERIKANISCHE UHRENKANISCHE" BECAUSE THEY WERE INCORPORATING THE NEW AMERICN MANUFACTURING SYSTEM. THE CASE IS ALL HAND CARVED WITH CARVED FLOWERS IN EACH OF THE 2 TOP CORNERS. THE DOOR HAS 2 GLASS OPENINGS. ONE FOR THE FACE AND ONE FOR THE PENDULUM. I'LL TRY TO EXPLAIN THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE MECHANIZM IN THE FOLLOWING: GRAND SONNERIE REFERS TO HOW THE CLOCK CHIMES. IT IS SOMETIMES CALLED THE"BLIND MANS CLOCK" THE REASON FOR THIS IS HOW IT CHIMES. THIS CLOCK HAS A DOUBLE CHIME SYSTEM. Austrian Adleruhr Eagle Clock antique circa 1840 with calendar & grand sonnerie
Austrian Grand sonnerie adleruhr. Which is translated as eagle clock, in very good condition for it's age. This clock also has a fully functional calendar dial. Which is a rare feature to find, on the few Adleruhr clocks, that still exist today from the first half of the nineteenth century. How it survived the two World wars in Germany is beyond me. But it has done so and must have been well protected by a prudent owner, because it is in excellent order, both mechanically and physically. Adleruhr clocks of this type were always made for the wealthy and there is similar adleruhr clock currently for sale on the Internet for nearly twice this price. LEO VAN RIJN ANTIEK SPECIAL FRENCH CARRIAGE CLOCK- GRAND SONNERIE AND CALENDAR. STAMPED DROCOURT, 19thC. On offer a French gilt-brass carriage clock. Grand sonnerie, calendar, repeater and alarm, in beautifull engraved case, stamped on the backside with the special Drocourt mark and numbered 22210. The clock has an 8 day movement. 4 enameled dials and comes with a key. The movement is in running condition and the calendar is served by the movement and does work. The striking part of the movement does not work and is missing many parts so it needs a restoration. Dimension: High with handle down 5.5 inch(14cm) Wide 3.75 inch(10cm) and deep 3.5 inch(8,5cm) The clock is sold as seen on the pictures and in conformity with the description UNRESTORED. RARE DROCOURT GRAND SONNERIE REPEATER ALARM CARRIAGE CLOCK FOR REPAIR PARTS!
THIS CARRIAGE CLOCK IS FOR PARTS OR RESTORE ONLY AS SOME PARTS ARE BROKEN OR MISSING. IT DOES NOT RUN! Drocourt maker mark is on the back of the movement. Height of the case is about 5 3/8 inches. This does not include the handle. Including the handle the height is about 7 inches. CONDITION: The balance staff has a broken pivot. The lever has a broken pivot. The jewels are missing for top and bottom of balance staff at the balance cock. The balance cock appears to be bent? Screws missing from some of the escapement. The lever at the bottom of the case for selecting Striking. Silent, Full Striking is missing. There may be other missing parts. I do not know what is required to get this running. I do note that both barrels can be wound- one for the regular timekeeping train but of course once you start winding this one it will start the escape ... morewheel turning. The other barrel I guess operates the repeat mechanism. The hammers will sometimes try to strike when I move this clock around a bit but I note that one does not reach the gongs and the other strikes only weakly. I don't know if everything is in sync. I know nothing about the alarm. There is a bit of corrosion to some steel parts. Probably could be removed. One side glass has an edge chip. The gilding has worn off much of the case.
