Antique Gilbert Parlor Clock. Ginger Bread Clock, Kitchen Clock, VERY CLEAN Up for auction is a WM. Gilbert carved parlor clock in very clean and good condition. The movement door and chime rods where removed from the case. I have cleaned the case with a mild soap to remove years of dirt from the case. Great scroll work adorns this clock and adds to its appeal. The left side does have a portion of it missing(see pictures) The base has had one nail added to it to reinforce it. It is very sturdy and the base is now tight. There is some old varnish build up that is common on these clocks but it is mild and it really adds to the beauty of these clocks. The bezel was removed from the case and received a good polish. The paper dial is in decent condition with some very mild fading and discoloring as seen in the pictures. The front glass still has ... morethe original detail and is in very good cosmetic condition. The signed WM. Gilbert movement was cleaned in an ultrasonic bath and the movement and springs where and oiled. The clock was tested for 5 days and ran well. The key is a replacement but it fits and works well; the pendulum original has a great design to it unlike any I have seen yet. It was cleaned in a mild soap solution. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION Up for auction is a Ansonia Mantle Clock( Ansonia Clock Manufacturing Company) this clock is Kensico Eight Day Strike and is dated 1857. My grandfather dad gave him this clock and it has been displayed for many many years. It is in working order everything is original, the key is the original as well. The clock is hand carved and is in great condition for its age. There is a piece of wood along the top that has come off but is a easy fix, I have taken this clock to a antique clock expert and had it checked out. He explained that the clock could use a tuning and that there were only a limited number of this petticoat clock made. Here is a great old quality clock. The clock runs great and looks great. It is from Oct 1878. The clock does come with the key. The clock gongs on the hour and half hour. To the best of my knowledge. The clock is all original. I did get this from an estate sale and don't have much history on it except, it was in the family for a very long time. The clock does have scuffs, scratches, dings, and other minor damage as to the age.The face dial has wear on it and the numbers are fading off, and will need to be replaced. The movement will need to be cleaned and serviced as it looks as if it hasn't been done for a while,but it still runs great. I believe they are just a paper overlay. The clock is sold as is due to the age.
