Fantastic French Palace Bronze clock 100" tall. 36" lenght at the base, 34" depth. Amazing bronze construction, one of the kind. The decoration is made out of the porcelain sevres style plaques with different pictures Gold plated. Some depicting individual figure, some like the one at the top depicting the scene showing a family busy and taking rest in the garden. This is very unique item I have ever listed in ebay. I can't discribed every thing in words kindly see the pictures and ask for more. I had a lots of French clocks and sold some on ebay this one is absolutely the best. Looks better in real life. The face is porcelain has a roman numbers for the hours. Through shipping they can be shaken and need slight adjustments to run properly. Very rare clock. I've never seen a Seth Thomas clock in this style! ANTIQUE CLOCK: Art Nouveau. Gilded Bronze, c.1900, Movement Working Perfectly This is a very fine and beautiful Antique Clock in the Art Nouveau style made. Most likely, around the turn of the last century, or around 1900. The Art Nouveau movement was an international philosophy and style of art. Architecture and applied art, especially the decorative arts, that was most popular from 1890 to 1910. It was a reaction to the academic art of the 19th century, and was inspired by natural forms and structures, not only in flowers and plants but also in curved lines. Our clock has the typical curving lines and foliage- leaves and tendrils flanking the dial and continuing down to the feet. But the most interesting decorative element in this clock is the figure of Cupid right under the dial. He holds his bow in his right hand and seems to be cupping ... morehis ear with his left hand; a slightly mysterious gesture. Two long flower stems spring up from behind the figure of Cupid. One other interesting aspect of this clock. And one which reflects the Art Nouveau style. Is that, at first glance, the decorations around the edge appear symmetrical. But, in fact, they are not. There are slight differences in the leaves and tendrils and even in the decorative band above the dial. There is no perfect symmetry in Nature, and the artists who worked in the Art Nouveau style avoided any rigid symmetry. And sought balance instead. There is no damage to this clock. It stands securely and keeps perfect time. There is some natural wear to the gilding. But it does not detract from the beauty of the clock. The back is simply painted a bronze color. This clock measures 7 inches tall and is 4 1/2 inches wide. The photos give a very good idea of the particular charm and beauty of this Art Nouveau Clock made with a figure of Cupid from around 1900. Up for consideration is a.1890s Antique Gilded Bronze Clock WORKING Repair ~ Restore. I do not know much about this clock. I cannot find a name on it. It Has four patent dates on the back: May 6. 1890/ Dec. 23, 1890/ Jan.13, 1891/ May 29, 1894(see picture 5) I got it at an auction. It runs if it is not over wound. Sometimes it will stop. And you have to shake it to get going. I have had it running for days at a time. It needs some TLC and repair. It is missing it's second hand. And the arm that adjust the hour and minute hands.There is a small nut that holds the back cover on,it is missing also. It does have wear on the finish from age and handling. antique Louis xv cast bronze gilded style mantle clock. this is a great old piece it is very ornate it runs and keeps good time I tested it for approx 1 hr no problems. as stated above the inside of the glass could use a cleaning nut I am not skilled it apart without running the risk of breaking it.i do not see any visible cracks breaks in the bronze and there are no visible chips or cracks in the glass. it stands 11 3/4 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches across at the base it's widest point. the face is approx 3 1/2 inches across. a great old clock it would be a standout on any mantle. I do my best to accurately describe all my items but I am not a expert in all things. feel free to email me with any questions I will do my best to accurately answer them.

Antique early French bronze figural mantel clock ca 1860 This bronze clock is made in France around 1860. The clock is adorned with high relief sculptured designs. Rare early clock is flanked by a lady figurine representing a Greek Goddess. She has a scroll in one hand and a book in the other. At her Left is a wreath with two books. A Globe of the Earth, a Ruler and a Sun Dial with Telescope. Rectangular case has a relief in front. Relief shows(Possibly) Galileo looking through one of two Telescopes. Two men with book and Compass measuring the Globe of the Earth, and a scholar telling the time on the Sun Dial. Both the Sun Dial and the Globe move by hand. This is a Beautiful french marble and gilded bronze clock.The sculpture is signed A.CARRIER. Beautiful enameled dial with flower guirlande. Albert Carrier's work is quite valuable. In 2007 a bronze piece from Carrier sold at auction for $79,000. I do not know exact age of the clock but it is made around 1850. It is in a good condition and details are really great. I think works I have no key for it. Work is numbered 356. There is a tiny nick on the marble and a dial visible on the picture. The clock is 11 3/4"high. I sell this clock AS IS condition.
