Well preserved, working American mantle clock that was produced in"Winsted Connecticut USA" about 105 years ago and signed on the dial, movement, and on a mostly intact label underneath by the"Gilbert Clock Company, one of the best clock makers ever. According to the same label, this is the"Blackbird" model of chiming mantle clocks produced by Gilbert. It has a nice satin black finish and accented with Roman pillars on each side of the dial, fancy claw cast metal ... morefeet in front, cast metal feet in back, a cast metal lion head on each side of the case with a metal ring in his mouth, and fancy, faint etched designs on the lower front and sides of the dial. The dial has a very fancy brass bezel surrounding it and a brass hinged outer bezel as well with a glass crystal inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. The dial backdrop is white and features fancy black arabic numeral to mark the hours and fancy metal hands to point out the time. The hands are the old style that are pinned to the escapement, not secured with a nut like the newer models. There is a slow/fast adjustment on the dial in case the clock timing ever needs to be sped up or slowed down. The back of the clock is wood as well and there is a black metal cover that is secured with a metal latch. It opens easily to allow access to the key wind, mechanical movement that is fitted with a brass pendulum. The clock winds on two arbors located on the dial and runs for about 8 days or so on a single wind. The clock chimes too! At the bottom of each hour, the clock strikes a beautiful, deep, single chime on a coiled cathedral chime inside the case and correctly chimes the curr

Offering this just incredible wood framed key wind clock. After running it for a few days I have determined it is actually about 4 to 5 minutes fast. I am sure there is some type of adjustment for that but I don't want to break what is not broken I cannot find a manufacturers name on the unit. I have tried to give a clear idea of the clock through my photos. One thing that is interesting and I want to mention is that the clock winds counter clockwise as the arrow shows. A handsome antique 1882 Ansonia Clock Co. Cast Metal Mantle Clock with Key Wind. Beautiful chime, with pendulum and key. Beautiful numbered dial, no glass- not sure if it ever had any. The pendulum has the following wording"Ansonia Clock Co. New York Patent June 18 1882" This clock is 132 years old and still works well and has a beautiful chime on the hour. The clock comes with the key. The metal could use some TLC to bring it back to its original glory, has a couple of dings to the metal on the front but all in all still a great working clock. Size: 9 3/82" tall x 8 5/8 inches across and 5 1/2" wide.

I don't have a clue about clocks. But from what I've been able to find, it appears as though it's a Seth Thomas clock. It doesn't seem to work, although the key does seem to wind the right mechanism just fine. I didn't want to force the left one. The buyer gets what they see. I wish I could provide more, but I really don't know anything more. Purchased at an Estate Sale. I do know that the key sure looks neat and likely sells for quite a bit by itself. No reserve. German Key-Wind Brass Mantle Clock with wood stand - Circa 1970 (?)
Know nothing about this clock- except the obvious; Made in Germany sticker on the back. And printed on face on clock(bottom center edge) Key set and wind. But missing the key Fairly certain the clock's case is solid brass- looks. Feels, weights, and does not react to a magnet. Although the back piece where there is a'peep hole' I am not sure it that is solid or not. Must have been given as a Company Premium since it has a bronze medallion of- what I think- is a company logo. I always displayed the clock with that to the back since both sides of the walnut base are finished. My guess is it is from the 70's. But certainly just a guess. On offer I have an old vintage MANTLE CLOCK Key Wind. Key is included. In poor condition. Not working, good for restoration project or parts. Found as-is.Clock has been sitting in an old factory loft for 40 years or more and is very dusty and marked. Glass front missing? One foot pad missing on one side. Wood veneer is dry and cracked. Open little door at back and the movement looks quite good still and looks like there's a pendulum bob. An antique German key wind wall clock circa 1890s. It measures approximately 28.75" tall. Just shy of 13" wide, and about 7" deep. The clock is not signed by the maker but it looks like a Gustav Becker. Cosmetically, there is minimal surface wear to the case, though there is some wear to the dial. It looks like there may be a glue block missing from the back near the top and it looks like a center finial may be missing. An antique wall clock which we believe to be German. Measuring about 44" tall, 15" wide, and 6.5" deep. It is not signed by the maker, but the movement serial number is 47607, and there is a"7" stamped above it. The clock is in good working order and a key will be included. Cosmetically, the condition is very good- there is a bit of wear and scratching to the finish of the case, particularly on one side(pictured) but there are no major problems we can see. The base is 4 5/8" deep. The wood is in good condition. There is wear along the edges and a few minor marks. Very nice detail. The label is coming off. Glass was a little dusty, I cleaned it. The wood is 3/8" thick.
