Beautiful Dutch Chime Wall Clock Offering a beautiful 8 day Dutch Zaanse wall clock with an Atlas at the top holding the Earth. This clock chimes the hour and half-hour on a delightful cup bell. This is decorated with delft type scenes of boats and windmills. This is found on the lower plate and on the dial. There is fancy brass design on the crown. Inside the top crown is a figure of atlas holding the Earth. This clock has a lovely 5" silvered dial with a delft scene. Brass fancy hands adorn the dial. This is all supported with a nice mahogany case. Case measures about 23" high by 9 1/2" wide and 5 1/4" deep. This clock is in very good to excellent condition with very minimal wear on case. Beautiful wall clock from R A Germany. Measures 26" tall and 14" wide. Wood case. Glass windows, brass and porcelain face and pendulum. This is an 8 day clock which gongs or chimes once on the half hour, and fully for each hour. Includes a new key. All else is the original. Door swings open, and there is a bit of wear from door, also two tiny areas of missing veneer on one corner of bottom right- see next to last photos. These are the only flaws. Has beautiful patina, and very clean. I just paid $130 to a clock restorer to thoroughly clean and set this clock. Took it home and got it all going, and it kept perfect time(altho this is adjustable, like everything on this clock, if you know how) and chimed correctly- kind of a mid range pleasant chime, not high, not low. Pendulum still has the clear blue protective plastic. Pendulum has been detached and taped to the back simply for shipping purposes. Clock has been tested and is fully functional. The wood, mirror, and chime box are in nice condition. There are brass ornaments applied. The pendulum glass is beveled, the white metal dial is satin finished. Includes the brass pendulum, no key. The key fits in and two of the three slot will wind. One seems a bit tight. I think this is a fairly rare clock, as I don't see anything on EBAY like it and only limited info on a google search. The trim around the glass opening which show the pendulum has a crack on the left side(I tried to get a pic of it) Looks like a bit of wood glue would easily fix that. I'm not a clock expert but would be happy to answer any questions(and please ask before you bid) Its about 18" top to bottom, about 12" across and 5" deep. We have looked at other examples being offered on eBay and none are in such a fine state of preservation as this one. The face is not oxidized or damaged in any way. And the wooden cabinet has been very well maintained and shows only the most minor of wear.
