This design was the first time ... more/ punch clock produced and holds several patents from the 1890’s (as pictured). It is enclosed in a beautiful cast iron case with a New Haven clock face.The clock is approximately 20” tall x 14” wide.In regards to the condition, the clock has some wear consistent with age and use. The clock time movement is not present, although the time recording mechanism is in the case (not sure if it is the complete mechanism or partial, see photos for the mechanism). The key for the lock is missing and there appears to have been a repair to the top of the casting.

For your consideration is a wonderful antique Ansonia Cast Iron Mantle Clock with a gold dial and open escapement. I have not seen another like this special clock. I have not wound this clock in about 5 months. But it worked fine for a month keeping perfect time and striking on the hour. 8 day clock. Great carved design on this beautiful cast iron. Stately and beautiful at the same time. It does have a chip in the bottom of the beveled glass on the inside, but is below the numbers. Clock measures 14 3/4" wide, 10" tall and 6 1/2" deep. It does have the weight, however needs a key. It takes a size 11. This is an Ansonia, however it is hard to read on the works inside. I could not get in a picture due to the design, however if you get it just right you can see the Ansonia name through the design. This cast iron mantle clock was made by Ansonia and has a patent date of 1882. Including the feet. The clock is 17 inches across, 10 ½ inches high and 7 inches deep. It has a black lacquered finish. The sides of the front have metal torches inside of wreath decoration. The sides have animals of some sort, maybe griffins. The dial is enamel. The movement is marked patented 1882. The clock is working. The case and the back cover have been repainted somewhere along the way. It has in excellent condition. We do not have the key.

The case is made of cast iron and has an impressive unpacked weight of 23 1/2 lbs(10.6 kg) Front has 3 green-colored pillars on both sides and a decorative brass scroll above the brass dial frame. Antique New Haven Cast Iron Bronze Finish Victorian Mantle/Shelf Clock
Take a close look at the photos of this very old and marvelously decorated clock. It is 4” tall 5” wide and 2” deep. So it’s probably more of a shelf clock than a mantle clock. The face of the clock is 2” in diameter. It has a unique shape and is wonderfully decorated with Victorian-style relief scenes. It has a beautiful bronze patina. The bottom of the clock has four small feet with a cobblestone finish. It has“JB 1374” stamped on the bottom. I don’t know what this is. The clock does run. But only intermittently. It does not keep accurate time. If you’re buying this to be a functioning timepiece. You’ll have to invest in hopefully minor repairs. It has a few dings. Most notably the top front of the spire. Up for auction is a very nice New Haven cast iron cherub desk clock. At the highest point the clock measures nine inches tall. The clock runs well and sets perfectly but I have not measured it for accuracy of time. The clock overall is in nice condition and only shows minor wear in the brass colored paint. The dial is signed New Haven and does have a spider web fracture but doesn't have any chips. I do not see any cracks. Breaks, or chips. I consider this clock to be in nice useable condition. value my stuff did a valuation on this clock on June 30. 2010 Valuation reference# V7615-1 Your clock looks to be of excellent quality- the castings are particularly crisp and have been greeny/brown patinated to simulate bronze. I'm assuming the movement is a standard circular brass plated bell or gong striking one. The Brussels(Bruxelles) place name that you have pictured refers to where it was retailed, there should be a maker's/retailer's name at the top of the dial but frankly it's academic as the clock's value lies mostly in its decorative appeal. Despite its apparent qualities I'm afraid your clock has suffered a great deal in the current market downturn- especially with large decorative and late French clocks- it would probably have fetched over £1000 five or so years ago. Here is a beautiful. Old mantle clock. The body is made out of cast iron-black. The clock measures approx. 14" x 5 1/4" and stands about 10" high. The face has a diameter of 5" Has a glass door over the face.no cracks or breaks in the door.hinge still fine. Inside, it says: ANSONIA CLOCK CO. U.S.A. NEW YORK. PATENTED JUNE 18, 1882. It weighs about 15 lbs. unboxed. The backside is metal.there is a crack in the metal back near the bottom left foot. It is still intact and solid though. The little metal clip that holds the round back cover on is also broken on the clip side. You can balance it up there though. It chimes once on the half hour and chimes on each hour for whatever time it is: ex: 5:00 would be 5 chimes. It comes with the key. The clock does work.HOWEVER, the pendulum keeps stopping after about 2 min. You have ... moreto keep pushing it. It might just need adjusting.after all it's only 132 years old! A beautiful antique black cast iron( Victorian Ansonia New York mantel Clock. Esti late 1800s(pat date 1882) Glass door, gold face that feels like tin or metal, clock has pretty etched or engraved decorations. Esti 10.25" tall. Base is 9.25" wide. Pendulum inside. No key. It's very heavy– I believe it's cast iron and wood. Not 100% sure. This is in good condition in my opinion. With scratches and wear marks to finish. Some sections are shiny, others more dull. It's apparent that someone refinished this piece. You can see some black overspray on the back when up close. Not sure if all parts are original. Inner workings look pristine, I see no rust or obvious damage. See photos to make your own determinations. Sold as not working. See no obvious signs of damage. This clock is working away strongly as unpacked from over 20 years of storage. The eyes blink up and down and the clock ticks away steadily. Case is also in good condition. It is in original paintwork and there are no damages I can find on close inspection. I do not know how old it is. But from my husband's notes, made in the late nineteen eighties, I believe it is an OLD reproduction circa 1950-60, and is an almost exact copy of an original Waterbury figure clock after the original John Bull clock with case by Bradley& Hubbard- hence the Waterbury style second hand. Which rotates as the clock ticks. The glass and brass bezel are in good condition. And the paper dial is in good order for it's years. Repair notes are photographed and are written inside the back of the clock. These read: New mainspring 3-27-69 by George Corhipp" ... moreor similar, and"4-2-81 Trehmeyer York P A" or similar. Antique American 1900-1940 Cast Iron Clock for restoration or parts
This clock is being sold as is. I bought it a while ago and it kept perfect time and ran well. Then one day I was winding it and it would not tighten up. Has not run since. I can shake it a little and it will start but will quickly stop. It's not a large clock about 5" x 4" but I think it is cast iron due to the weight at least 5 lbs. I know a"little" about clocks and thought I could fix it. You can see by the pictures I took it apart. Sorry to say it still is not working. I call it dark wood tone because it is not the black you would think iron is. Also please take notice the clock face has no glass. This is a really nice piece of antique art, and hope that someone with clock knowledge can get her going again. Thank you for looking.

Antique bronze plated cast iron mantle clock. Beautiful ornate detail. Has the original alarm bell and the face. The piece is missing the front glass and does not run. Details: Westclox stamp on the back. Dated 1906 on the back. Has the original bell and seems to have all moving parts(except front glass and one screw on the back the head broke off) Seems to be all the original parts. A delicate cast iron clock intended for parlour or bedroom as it has an alarm. alarm mechanism is functional but spring slips on winding so it will not ring for more than a second or two until the dspring is relocated into the winder. Main mechanism runs but needs oiling and cleaning. Which the purchaser will have to do if they want the clock to run reliably. My husband pought this because of the unusual position of winding holes and because also of the skeletonised centre. Which he said was rarely for sale. Also as the alarm dial hand is present and sets on a shaft at the rear(knob missing) Dimensions are: 14 inches High by 12 inches wide by 3 inches deep Packed weight is over 4 Kg so postage is not cheap.

We wound it up and it worked, both the clock and the alarm. It features four mother of pearl insets of leaves, with gilt vines painted around them. We do see that it is missing the alarm dial on the back and we see a scratch to the black paint on the top. It measures approx. 7 1/2" x 5 1/8" x 3 1/8" and is very heavy for its size.
