Antique Arthur Pequegnat Brandon 2nd Edition Canada Time & Calendar Wall Clock
Up for auction is an antique Arthur Pequegnat 8 Day Time and Calendar Wall Clock from Canada. This is the Brandon 2nd Edition Model which was offered for sale in the company catalog from 1920-25. The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. in Kitchener. Canada was in business from 1904-1941. This clock is 26 1/2 in. high, 16 in. wide and 4 1/2 in. deep. It is in good condition and runs fine. The glass bottom door is stenciled with Standard Time. We purchased this clock at a local estate auction and don't know about the provenance of this particular clock. There is a partial paper label on the back as shown. The movement is marked Pequegnat Clock Co. The key is not original, but works fine. Rare French Perpetual Calendar Mantel Clock Signed'Cromey. Bristol' Circa 1850 Very nice gilt bronze French Perpetual Calendar Clock with marble base. Enamel dials and the case is glazed(glass) on the sides/rear. The c lock's movement operates properly and the clock is in excellent condition. The 14 day movement strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with a Brocot dead beat escapement visible through the upper dial and a compensated pendulum of brass and steel peculiar to Ellicott's design. The gilt engraved dial mask; the upper white enamel dial with blue steel'Breguet' style hands and Roman chapter ring; the lower perpetual calendar showing: day. Date, month, equation of time, and moon phase. The numbers on the calendar dial around the inner circle indicate the difference between solar and mean time. Which shows ... morethe'equation of time' This allowed people to set their clocks by using their sundials. The movement signed'Cromey. Bristol' and numbered 31945. The calendar movement numbered 31756. The case is glazed on three sides and open to the front; multi-colored gold ormolu on a white marble base; surmounted by a'ruffled pigeon' numbered 39703. William Cromey is listed in Britten’s as a clockmaker and jeweler in Bristol. 1842. As with many French clocks in the 19th century they were made in France but sold in England. In this clock the retailer, Cromey, probably commissioned the clock so his name is on the dial. Austrian Adleruhr Eagle Clock antique circa 1840 with calendar & grand sonnerie
Austrian Grand sonnerie adleruhr. Which is translated as eagle clock, in very good condition for it's age. This clock also has a fully functional calendar dial. Which is a rare feature to find, on the few Adleruhr clocks, that still exist today from the first half of the nineteenth century. How it survived the two World wars in Germany is beyond me. But it has done so and must have been well protected by a prudent owner, because it is in excellent order, both mechanically and physically. Adleruhr clocks of this type were always made for the wealthy and there is similar adleruhr clock currently for sale on the Internet for nearly twice this price. Antique Waterbury Mantel Clock Calendar Clock Pendulum Key Wood Case 1889 Patent
Description: This is an antique Waterbury mantel clock/calendar clock in brown wood case. The clock strikes on the half hour. Comes with pendulum and key. The case hasp works. The clock measures approximately 21" x 14 1/2" x 4 1/2" The clock front measures approximately 18 1/2 inches. The total height including the top piece measures approximately 24" inches. There is company information on the back of the clock and although some of the paper is obviously worn off. There are still some readable instructions. Condition: This is antique patented in 1889. The clock does wind. But I do not know what kind of time it can keep. The case has a fair amount of wear and some scratching. The back of the case has torn and worn paper and also some staining of both the paper and the wood. The inside metal bezels on oth block and calendar ... morehave some scratches and marks and the calendar clock has a dent in the lower part of the metal bezel. There is a portion of the wood frame inside the glass missing on the top glass. There may be additional flaws that I am unable to see. Offering a nice antique Ithaca double dial calendar clock in the"Library No. 8" model. This 8 day walnut cased clock strikes the hour on a gong. The lower calendar dial is original and the hand indicates the day of the month. The day of the week and the month are indicated in the two rectangular panels. The paper on these panels are darkened with age(see photos. The circular dial is original. The upper time dial appears to have been a replacement at one time. The calendar portion is functional. This may need to be adjusted upon reciept. The time movement has been cleaned and lubricated with synthetic clock lubricant. This functions very well. The upper finial appears to be a replacement. There is a corner missing on the upper side trim on the rear(see photo. Clock measures about 24 1/2" high by 12" wide and 4 1/4" ... moredeep. A key and pendulum bob is supplied for full operation. The finely engraved silvered brass dial has a strike/silent feature in the top as well as the extra function of a calendar. Another sign of a better than average bracket clock and it also has a pull repeat function. The mahogany case is sound and still retains it's original brass fish scale side panels. Handles and ball feet. The only slight negative is the small amount of missing brass inlay in the inverted"V" at the top of the case and the small crack in the original glass(as per photo's) In photo 2 the crack can be seen quite clearly just above the 3 and yet in photo 1 it's not visible so only really noticed in certain angles ... moreof light and for me is part of it's character. RARE 8 day w/ calendar Black Forest German Shield Wag on Wall Clock DRESCHER? Here we have a RARE Signed German Wag on the Wall Clock. This clock has an 8 day movement with third hand calendar sweep. The clock is signed on the back of the face and movement plate. These signatures are hard to read but appear to read A Dk and J Drescher. The front of the movement is also stamped PB. The face is enameled wood and has a domed center. It has floral painting at the top and corners. It appears that the dial cracked and was glued back together at some point. The back of the dial has a signature and also what appears to be a repair date. The dial measures 13 1/2" wide and 19" high to the top of the arch. Now to the movement. The plates are made of hardwood( possibly oak) These plates are fitted with bronze or brass bushings. The gears are ... morebrass with steel shafts( pinions) The clock movement strikes a gong on the hour and utilizes a count wheel. This back plate has a hole for hanging it on the wall. Someone also mounted a plank on the bottom to use it in a case. The weight pullies are brass and are suspended from the movement with what appears to be heavy nylon fishing line. The pendulum looks like a newer piece. It has a wooden bob and metal shaft. The clock was oiled and I had the clock running with 14 lbs of weigth on the time side and 12 lbs on the chime side. With this weight it ran accurately and kept time. It would occassionally stop about halfway down the weight travel. No weights are being sold with the clock. Overall this is a neat old time piece. This is an Ithaca no. 9 cottage double dial calendar clock. The clock looks to be complete but you will have to judge for yourself. I think the finials are originals and I think it's s pretty good example of this clock. There are some veneer issues an dry cracking but these things should be expected with the age of the clock. The clock runs but I cannot guarantee the running condition if shipment is necessary. This model rarely comes up for sale so don't miss it! The clock is on display at Ivy Hall Antiques in Abbotstown Pa. I would prefer a local pickup but would be glad to ship. If it must be shipped than the deal will have to be"as is" with no returns.
