Being offered is a great clock. It is an Ansonia that has a pat date of June 13th 1882 on the inside works. It has its pendulum and key. It has been running for 24 hours now and strikes the# of hours on the hour and then 1 time on the half hour. I believe this to be an 8 day clock but not real sure and no markings. This beauty stands a little less then 15 tall and about 10 1/2 wide and 5 3/4 deep. It has a super look with the carvings and decorations much like the large gingerbread clocks. The face shows some wear which is typical for over a 100 year old clock. Love this piece and I am sure you will to. Very versatile due to its rich looks and smaller size. You could put it anywhere and it would look great!

Comes with winding key and was made in 1869. That makes it 145 years old! All original. Still keeps time and chimes. To prove authenticity it has a clock makers signature and date. Serviced in 1908. The clock is approximately 17 1/2" wide. 4 3/4" deep, 9 1/2" high and weighs approx 5 1/4 lbs. The Everything seems to be in very good condition with only light wear. There are some chips in the dark paint around the metal rim of the movement. The front door is glass and clips shut. The movement is Ansonia Clock Co. Made in the USA. and the key is included. I'm not a clock expert. So please feel free to ask about any details I may have missed. I did run the clock for a couple days and it kept reasonable time. I was told it's from the late 1800's? The wooden case is 5/8" thick and has some paint and scratches on it. The glass looks good. The door stay works great at keeping the door closed. The face is mat silver toned with black roman numerals and is scratched. It is marked"ANSONIA" in the center and"MADE BY THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO. N.Y. U.S.A. on the face bottom. It also states"LICENSED BY WALTHAM WATCH COMPAN. PATENT NO. 1379713" It will need some cleaning. This was purchased from an old clock repair shop that quit business. Shipping is free.
