The works are signed Revere works which im told were originally produced by Herschede of Cincinatti. The Herschede Clock Company was located in Cincinatti.OH and in 1929 formed the Revere Clock Company for their electric telechron clocks. The case is very clean original condition with no damage, no scratches, no repairs. The top moon dial on the face has paint flaking on it, pictured. The clock measures 80 inches in height, 23 inches in frontal length, 15 inches in depth. Up for auction today fresh out of a great estate is this beautiful revere electric westminster chime mantle clock with telechron motor. I went to this estate yesterday and picked up a couple very nice mantle clocks and this is one of them. The clock does work and it does have some light scratches as shown in the close up pictures. The case is very nice with a couple light scratches shown in the pictures. Im not sure what type of wood this is but it is a very dark colored wood. The dial looks great, the crystal looks very good. The clock measures app. 18" wide, 8" tall, 5" deep. This clock does work but will need some minor adjustments, it does run a little slow, it lost around 10 minutes in 24 hours, the motor seems to be a little loud but that may just be the way it sounds. Up for auction is a Seth Thomas Westminster Chime#91 clock with a rare gold dial. The movement has been cleaned. Bushed where needed and adjusted. Dial The original cream chaper ring dial is in extremely good condition. The hands are a lo vely design. The dial is surrounded by a brass bezel which c li cks shut. Movement This is a three train high quality movement which chimes every 15 minutes and also strikes the number of hours. Made in England by SMITHS(Enfield) The clock has the ability to chime on 4 rods with Westminster and strikes the hours on a 3 rods( 4 Gong Rods in total) Once wound by the ORIGINAL Smiths Key it will run for over 8 days. The movement has been dismantled. Ultrasonically cleaned with the appropriate chemicals. Reassembled. Oiled correctly and tested for your satisfaction. The key is included along with one small part that was loose inside. The dial has a glass case that opens up. It's marked on the dial with"Linden, Westminster Chime. It may or may not work since I don't know how to operate it. The hands are able to move and the key can turn in the middle hole but doesn't with the other two. There is a small scratch next to the hinge on the left side of the dial. It measures just above 16 1/2 inches long x 4 1/4 in wide x 8 in height. Shipping weight is about 7 lbs. And is a 463-121.It has a very lovely Westminster chime that marks each quarter hour, and then chimes the hours on three hammers. There is a silent or chime setting on the front of the clock. The clock is a presentation clock given by Buick Motors Division in 1971 to mark a 25th year service award( 1946- 1971) All of the original warranty. Registration, and operating instructions are included.as well as the original key. The face is marked" Made in Germany" And the front of the clock has lovely detail. Please be patient there are 57 photos to be loaded in this auction. In this auction we have a great Art Deco Grandfather Clock or ... moreTall Case Clock. The case in our opinion is somewhere in the 1920's to 1930's, the movement was replaced later on and is a 1960's from the Kieninger Clock Company of Germany. This piece has a wonderful wooden case with carved details all around including ball drop waterfalls on either side. Note the thickness of all the wood, it is old 1" thick boards, right down to the wood on the door. There is split in the mounting board for the movement from a long time ago that has had a repair attempt, overall general wear to the case, especially to the lower section. We pulled the movement out to check it over and the the board does hold together well. We verified its function and found that it chimes on the quarter hour and chimes full on the hour as well as striking the number of the hour. It measures approx. 80" x 22" x 11" and is quite heavy. Due to the large size and semi-delicate nature of this piece we will be offering it as Pick Up Only. Description of item for sale: The high point of this pretty antique clock is its high quality full Westminster chime and a case design that makes it sound like a large grandfather clock. It is in excellent working condition and keeps time as it should. The clockworks do not show a maker's mark but are marked"Made in Germany" There is also a date stamp on the inside of the back door: 15 Aug. 1922. The clock face shows some wear(see photos) The mahogany case is in very good antique condition. It is solid and unwarped with no damage. I recently tried to use the clock again(after sitting for all those years) and when I wound up the center spring(this is the one for time) it went clunk. If I wind it up all the way it just doesnt catch- If I wind it up only a few turns it does catch and the clock will run for a day or so. I was told it might be a"click? spring or a"Mainspring" Also the chimes used to work and now they don't-all the springs are wound up-so it might just need some fresh oil to get it going. I am sure the clock has never been serviced. Also the front door could close a little better and needs an adjustment. Herschede 1915 Gothic Tall Case Grandfather Clock. 7 Tube Westminster Chime. Signed by premier maker. Herschede of Cincinnati, Ohio, this 7 tube chiming clock in the Gothic manner is all original when they won a Gold Medal at the Pan American Exhibition or World's Fair in 1915. The famous brass movement has been cleaned and oiled. It keeps accurate time and plays either the familiar Westminster or the Canterbury chime tunes on the quarter hour, also counting the hour on sonorous nickel tubular chimes. The dial has gold plated numerals plus filigree in the center. The chapter or numeral ring has spots in the silver finish, see photos. Controls for silent or strike are on the sides of the underlying brass plate. Solid mahogany. The case finish is very well preserved with warm antique patina and delicate crazing or crackling from age as ... moreshown. Dial glass and side panes are beveled, the lower door has wavy glass. The winding crank is original, the door key is a handle only as the lock does not work. Measurements are 16" wide. 26 1/2" wide and 79" tall. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult. And it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever.
