Here is a great antique ship's bell clock for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at a shop in South Carolina. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! My best guess is that this clock was made in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Here is a great old ship's clock for you. Have checked a few of the clock"expert" sites I go to for information on our clock finds. None of them had one of these shown as is here. I did find one that was not in as nice condition and had some writing below the Jeweled Movement on the face. They referred to is as a Ship's Bell No. 1. Would appreciate the assistance of those of you out there that know more than I that could more accurately identify this clock and when it was manufactured. The clock has a great looking metal(might even be porcelain) face with with white enamel and roman numerals. No hairline cracks in the face. The face says"Jeweled Movement" on it and at the bottom. Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. USA" The hands on this clock match, are just beautiful in their sleek style, and look appropriate to the clock. The clock's jeweled lever movement has been running and striking while laying on it's back on my desk. The clock has the sound of a jeweled pocket watch. Very unique sound for a wall clock. Let alone a ship's bell clock. I have no space on my wall to hang the clock up now, but hope to do that soon to make sure it runs hanging as well. The clock is mounted to a vintage wood plaque that has a cheap hanger on it, but it works. Antique Art NOUVEAU Arts& Crafts WATERBURY Brass Clock w/ BIRD c. 1894 Here is a gorgeous original antique brass Waterbury art Nouveau clock. It stands 7 1/2 ins. tall by 4 ins. wide at the base. It is in good condition. I have no idea if it works as I am always scared to wind these to test, so I don't. The clock face is in good shape, original glass cover. It is marked Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. On the back plate it is marked with this. Last patent date is 1894 for this one. Then you see the other Waterbury mark. Clock face is about 1 15/16ths ins. approx. I liked the little bird down here. I believe this is brass with a brass finish. A magnet does not stick to it( besides the back cover plate)It is fairly light-weight. So not bronze. I am also listing some other Art Nouveau clocks I bought in separate auctions. Up for bids is this old clock works from a kitchen clock. It is marked Waterbury Clock Co. Also marked 6 1/2 inch. Seems complete other than a pendulum. Springs look good. Has the face. Which has some paint around the brass edges, the alarm mech and bell, the chime bellstriker thing, and the main works. Comes with all or most of the screws. The face is approx 6 3/8 across. The finish on it is crazed and wore a bit. Slight dent on rim of face. The works looks complete and the governor will spin when the hands are turned.It also will strike a few times. Look what I found at a recent auction! Here is a beautiful veneer mantel/ shelf clock cabinet. The label on the ins ide has remnants of Waterbury. The ca bine nt is 2 5 1/2" x 15 1/4" x 4 1/4" The reverse painted picture has significant damage. T he gong is still present. The little handle twist s to open the door. There is a little damage to the veneer but very little. A clock maker or repairman could really fix this cabinet up nicely. I think if the inside was fixed with shel ves. Up for auction is an antique Waterbury black mantle shelf clock. It is 11 in. high. 16 1/2 in. long and 6 in. deep. The back paper label shows it is the Delray model circa 1915. There is also a partial paper label with Directions for setting the clock. There is a partial paper label on the back door showing it was sold by L.D. Clapham& Co. Jewelers and Opticians. The movement is marked Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. This clock runs and keeps good time. It only gongs on the half hour. We have not been able to get it to gong on the hour. We do not have a clock repair shop. There is a newer key included that works fine with the clock. Please look at all the enlarged pictures as they are part of the description. This is a wonderful Waterbury mantel clock. I just had it service it works great keep time well and the chimes are beautiful. However. Because I will be shipping this item it may need to be adjusted. Formed March 5. 1857, as a joint stock corporation, the Waterbury Clock Company from its inception was an operation designed to be a major user of brass produced by the parent firm, the Benedict& Burnham Manufacturing Company. Utilizing the best talent available to them, they hired veteran clockmaker Chauncey Jerome to set up the new firm’s casemaking shop and his brother Noble Jerome, a well-known clock mechanic, to set up the movement manufacturing operation. Its case is a gorgeous rich mahogany wooden finish with castle like pediment which is shaped so that an ornament would comfortable sit up there.The ornament in the one photo is not included) Although it is a wall clock. It has no hook or hole to hang it up so it would need a bracket on the wall to sit on or it could sit gloriously on your mantel piece as well. The front glass door has its classic golden design on the glass which is in great condition. It has a bright clean golden face. Very attractive hands and a very unique enamelled design pendulum bob which you don't often see. Up for auction is this Antique Waterbury"Fargo" Kitchen/Parlor Clock. This clock is an estate find; this is what I've been able to learn about it(please examine photos carefully) Clock measures approximately 22.5" high and 15" wide at the base. Case is crafted from beautiful golden oak with detailed carving. The only flaw is a mended piece at the very top of the decorative crown; it is noticeable from the front mostly because it is a slightly darker shade of wood(see pictures) Clock door has good hinges; glass appears to be original and wavy. With a reverse-painted Victorian pattern. Has original dial with Waterbury mark. Pendulum is also original and appears to be made of ornate brass or bronze. Mechanically. The clock works great. It runs on an 8-day brass spring-driven movement, and strikes on the hour and half-hour ... moreon a coiled gong. I wound it up and, as of this writing, clock has been running for a week and keeping precise time(key will be included; can't say if it is the original key) Label on back is very weathered and half-missing; it lists the different offices of the Waterbury company and has detailed instructions for clock operation. My research indicates this piece dates back to circa 1910. Making it around 100 years old; it's in remarkably good condition for its age. Overall. Antique Waterbury Paris Walnut Parlor Clock 1881 Renaissance Revival
This Waterbury parlor clock is 23 inches high to the top of the finial and 13 inches wide. The case is made of walnut and has a face near the top below a finial. The clock is the Paris model which was introduced in 1881. We believe this is an 8 day time and strike clock. The face is enamel and has a little bit of loss but looks original. The clock has some carving at the top and bottom. The clock winds fine but will only run for a couple of minutes at a time. The bell does not seem to be lined up properly with the striker. The pendulum is missing the pointer that points to the speed. We believe the glass in the door has been replaced. There is no damage to the case.

Antique Waterbury Parlor No 94 Shelf Mantel Clock China Case 1800s Vintage RUNS
Antique Clock This auction is for a really nice and very rare antique china case mantel or shelf clock that dates to the late 1800s-early 1900s. The clock has a wonderful porcelain or ceramic case covered in pink flowers and gold accents. On the back it has a label that indicates it was made by Waterbury and the clock is a Parlor Number 94. The clock has the original movement and the clock is in excellent working condition– including the gong. It measures about 12" tall and is in nice condition but there is a repair to one of the high points at the left side. There is also a shallow chip on the front at the 10:30 position. Still a very nice piece and very rare. It’s not obvious but there are two griffon heads at the bottom edges. Guaranteed old and as described! This dark wood tone-walnut? antique Waterbury clock is marked on the movement Waterbury Clock Co. Pat'd Sept. 22. 1874 61/2 and on the tattered label it is marked Eight strike l Jenner Strikes half hours Waterbury. Conn. USA. It is about 20" high,14" wide, and 4" in depth. The case displays well; however it is missing the crest at the top. The glass door has a gold floral and leaf display. There is wear on the dial face- see photos- and it has black Roman numerals, 2 key posts, an elaborate pendulum, and an old key. This clock does not run- I hope someone can repair it. Handling is $4 which includes insurance.

Offered for your consideration is this elegant small Egyptian Revival style desk clock. The case was made by the M.S. Benedict Art Studio about 1916 as part of the"Athenic Bronze" line. The works were made by the Waterbury Clock Company. The clock has an arched shape decorated with embossed scrolls and cameos of Egyptian soldiers. It measures 3 1/2" high and 6" long. The bottom has the maker's trademark and is numbered"1401" The cosmetic condition is very good with only a bit of wear on one of the cameos. The clock is not currently working. I am not a clock expert by a long shot and have made no effort to"diagnose" the problem. A very nice example and sure to be welcome in a collection! A very beautiful antique. Circa 1900's, sculpture statue desk clock. The winged semi-nude male figure is the Arts personified. In his left hand is a palette with brushed, his right hand with the torch of knowledge, and at the base of the globe a lyre for music. The Warerbury clock has a porcelain dial with beveled glass over. The clock is not in working order. Sold"as found" The ormolu bronze clock total measures 10-1/2" tall by 4-1/2" wide by 4" deep. I finally found a reference to it on AntiqueWaterburyClocks.com. Called“The Music Men” this antique. Circa ... more1920, figural carved oak wall clock was a limited edition clock and there were very few produced. I could not find another example that has sold. Depicting three musicians, one playing a horn, one playing a guitar and the other singing, this carved oak clock has an Arts& Crafts/Mission Style with applied brass numerals and hands on the oak clock-face. After comparing our clock to the other example we found in collections we know that the weights& pendulum are later replacements, and so are the fancy brass hands. This clock would have originally had plain brass hands and a set of Waterbury's twisted weights. There are no other problems or restorations to this clock and it is in working condition. This is an 8-day weight driven clock and as you can see in our photographs. The works are complete and original. It measures 28” wode by 26” tall by 5 ½” deep The surface is original and untouched and there are only a few small areas of wear to the edges or high points. Available for purchase. We have an Antique Waterbury Cottage Clock made by the Waterbury Clock Co. in Waterbury, CT. This clock is from the late 1800's. It is a 30 hour, time only. There is no chime. The clock works on and off. It ran 3 hours, then stopped, ran 20 min, then stopped.etc. It probably needs cleaning and oiling. It appears to be all original except for the key. The key is not marked so we don't know if that is the original key. The wood case has a nice lable on the inside and a partial on the back. There is a spot on the left hand side of the door that has a piece of veneer missing. There are scratches and varnish loss in spots due to age. The dial looks to be painted zinc with the Waterbury Trade Mark in the center of the dial and has lots of crazing to the paint with some paint loss. The glass has no cracks or chips ... moreand has a decal rather than a reverse painting as many Waterbury Clocks do. The clock stands 12" tall, 8-1/2" 8-1 across the front and is 3-3/4" deep. Up for consideration we have a very beautiful Waterbury wall clock called Lawrence. The Walnut clock case has been refinished. The case has one small chip in the wood shown in picture 12. The glass is replacement. Clock movement has been cleaned. Polished adjusted and keep good time stamped at the bottom is Waterbury Clock Co. Clock strikes a deep sounding gong to count the hour. The dial is original and has been repainted. Pendulum is original with fast-slow indicator. Clock comes with original Waterbury stamped key. The clock measures 29 tall and 13 wide and is 4 on the depth. NOTE the top part of the clock is removable and will be removed for safe shipping.

1898 WATERBURY MAHOGANY BEEHIVE MANTEL CLOCK - OPEN ESCAPEMENT - REPAIR OR PARTS
Up for auction is this beautiful mahogany beehive mantel clock made on Sept. 13. 1898 by the Waterbury Clock Company of Waterbury, Conn. U.S.A. that was damaged. The open escapement movement came detached from the case and the clock was returned. The movement appears to be intact but only a clock repairperson can determine that. The porcelain dial is still in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or hairlines. The 4 1/2" diameter brass bezel and glass crystal are also in very good condition as seen in the photos. The clock did chime on the hour and half hour before damage was incurred. The rich mahogany case measures 12 3/4" high by 9" wide by 5 1/2" deep. No key available. Weighs 6 lbs. before packaging. A nice find for the clock repairperson who wants to repair this beautiful 1898 Waterbury beehive clock with escapement ... moremovement or use the case and the parts for use in other clocks.

The clock is as I found it with it's original key. It has a patent date of Jan 1891 It does not keep time so will have to be cleaned and or serviced. Appears to have been over wound at some point. The case has 3 rectangular, beveled glass windows on the side and one small round glass on the top. This is designed to strike the hour, and we verified that it does indeed ring true. We were able to see the movement function, however it will only run for a short time. As with any antique clock this will require some TLC and adjustment to ensure its proper function.
