Magnificent Sèvres Porcelain & Gold Gilt Bronze French Clock (late 1800’s)
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Offering from Estabrook Fine Arts Concord. Massachusetts ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Magnificent Sèvres Porcelain& Gold Gilt Bronze French Clock(late 1800’s) ~~~~ Mechanism by famed French clockmaker. S. Marti et Cie. This Sèvres and gold-gilt bronze clock stands 22 inches high. 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep near its base. It has been on my mantel for about fifteen years and adds incredible beauty to my dining room. The clock uses a S. Marti et Cie. mechanism which dates between 1867 and 1889. The clock has been checked and lightly cleaned by a professional clock maker and is in excellent and accurate working condition. MECHANISM- The clock has an 8-day bell-striking movement which is stamped“ S. Marti et Cie” in the center with“ Medaille de Bronze” in a circle around it. Samuel Marti was awarded ... morethe Bronze Medal in 1860. The mechanism and the pendulum have the same serioal number. Samuel Marti et Cie was a well known clock maker in Paris in the mid eighteenth century. The Medaille de Bronze stamp was used during the period 1867– 1889. Clock has its original pendulum and key. PORCELAIN- The detail of a cherub on the porcelain face is very detailed and in excellent condition. The face and hands are original. There is a Sevres mark under the lid but it would requiring disassembling in order to get a good photo of it. It is the crossed“L’s” with“S” inside. Similar to Kovel’s Dictionary of Marks. Page 226. This mark was used starting in 1771 and into the second half of the 1800’s. ORMOLU- The ormolu is magnificent and very detailed. The metal is solid bronze with heavy gold gilt. There is some slight“greening” at the joints which is barely noticeable unless you are looking for it. Owner purchased the clock from an antique dealer in 1998 for $3.150. Ansonia Mercury Statue Clock Late 1800's
Ansonia Mercury clock in good working condition. Professionally cleaned and working.
ANTIQUE CLOCK: Rococo Rival,Gilt Bronze, late 1800's, Movement Working Perfectly
ANTIQUE CLOCK: Rococo Rival. Git Bronze, late 1800's, Movement Working Perfectly This is a wonderful Antique Clock in the Rococo Revival Style. It is made of gilt bronze. And dates most likely to the late 1800's. It stands 13 3/4 inches tall, and keeps perfect time with a movement which I believe is later than the case itself. Rococo Revival was a 19th-century style characterized by curved silhouettes and ornate carving. It began as a"Modern French" style in England in the 1820s. Drawing on baroque elements of Louis XVI and Louis XV furniture, and developed in France in the 1830s under Louis Phillipe. The style was popularized at the 1851 Crystal Palace Exhibition in London, and at expositions in New York in 1853, and Paris in 1855. Our Clock is topped by and urn flanked by flower garlands which rests on an arch supported ... moreby two charming caryatids. The base has a large decorative mask in the center and two sections of open. Diamond shaped grillwork above the mask. The feet are of a heavy foliate design. On the whole this is a very handsome clock with no damage at all. The gilding is worn as expected and the back is painted black. The Photos give a very good idea beauty and elegance of this Rococo Revival Antique Clock. If you should have any questions. Please don't hesitate to contact me. And thanks for looking. Due to the limitations of photography and the inevitable differences in monitor settings. The color of the pictures may be slightly different on your monitor from the Clock itself, but I did my best to capture it as it is. And at least on my monitor, the color is a perfect match Payment: Winning Bidders: please pay for your item within three days of this auction's close. Waterbury 30 Hour Cottage Clock with Pendulum and Key - Late 1800's
Available for purchase. We have an Antique Waterbury Cottage Clock made by the Waterbury Clock Co. in Waterbury, CT. This clock is from the late 1800's. It is a 30 hour, time only. There is no chime. The clock works on and off. It ran 3 hours, then stopped, ran 20 min, then stopped.etc. It probably needs cleaning and oiling. It appears to be all original except for the key. The key is not marked so we don't know if that is the original key. The wood case has a nice lable on the inside and a partial on the back. There is a spot on the left hand side of the door that has a piece of veneer missing. There are scratches and varnish loss in spots due to age. The dial looks to be painted zinc with the Waterbury Trade Mark in the center of the dial and has lots of crazing to the paint with some paint loss. The glass has no cracks or chips ... moreand has a decal rather than a reverse painting as many Waterbury Clocks do. The clock stands 12" tall, 8-1/2" 8-1 across the front and is 3-3/4" deep. The clock comes with pendulum and key. Please check all photos and ask any questions or concerns before you buy. We are always happy to answer any questions or even send additional photos apon request. We consider serious and reasonable offers. We have great packing and shipping practices and have shipped many, many clocks over the years with much success! Please check our feedback for references. We accept PayPal only and payment is due within 48 hours from your commitment to buy. We ship out within 5 business days from your cleared payment. SORRY, WE ONLY SHIP WITHIN THE USA! WORKING Late 1800's E Ingraham Kitchen Mantle Parlor Shelf Gingerbread Clock
You will get the clock that is pictured. I don't know alot about it, but it is working, seems to be in excellent condition, and is very very old. I listed this one just like one that I saw sell for around $200, and I'm not sure that one even worked! The pendulum swings like it is supposed to, it has the key to wind it up, the alarm went off while I was messing with it, or it may have been that it was on midnight and chiming, not sure. It also chimes every so often and makes a few different sounds, like a clock like this should, it is awesome! And again, it seems to work perfect! The casing is wooden, I believe it is rosewood, has beautiful carvings on it, the glass on the front has good looking etchings. The clock has lots of markings on the back, see pics. I did not clean it cause I didn't want to mess with the originality, this ... moreis a very very old clock, an I can't believe that it actually works! The clock stands 22" tall and is 15" wide. You may have to wind the clock again to get it started. To do this, you simply use the key, and turn the screws on the clock face. They both turn in towards each other. And I turned the bottom gold key to see what it did, not sure what that does. But in sure if your a clock collector, you should know how to work this one. I will ship this in a box wrapped in bubble wrap. And shipped with peanuts, either by Parcel post or Priority mail, whichever is the most reasonable, but either way, it should arrive safely. I also can't take returns on this item unless I listing it wrong in some way. So it is as is, all I know and guarantee is that it works, cause I don't know much about these type clocks. Please pay no later than 24 hours after end of sale or I will relist. I will ship soon after payment is made! I will remove the pendulum and put it and the key in a bag and it will be put in the box when shipped. The pendulum simply hooks on easily! I will also ship internationally. Although I do not accept returns on out of country sales, and you pay any s

Beautiful Antique Late 1800's Ingraham "Lexington" Sounding Mantle Clock
I was fortunate enough to acquired this beautiful clock at a recent estate sale. This is a well crafted and solid clock. I highlighted the defects that were visible in the"item condition" Here's what I found out and know concerning the mechanics. The key is not original but winds the clock fine at the"4" The key does not fit the other two. Which I don't know what these slots do anyways. The clock makes a beautiful"cathedral" sound once at the half hour. And sounds the time at each hour. The clock runs fine and seems to keep pretty good time; however. It is touchy and the pendulum will stop if the clock is not balanced properly. The Body of the clock is painted wood. The trim is either brass or bronze and the marbled pillars seems to be faux wood. The clock weighs 10 pounds and measures approximately 11" ... morehigh by 16" wide. I am not very knowledgeable of this clock. Did not and do not know how to service it. I highly recommended taking this piece to a professional for cleaning, servicing, to become familiar with its working, to obtain a proper key and so that it will perform optimally. Thanks. Good luck and feel free to contact me with any questions. Rob 8/12.

The dial is signed"Paris" but the case is signed(there is a big label) ... moreby the AMERICAN CLOCK COMPANY, NEW YORK. I am not sure if they imported this from France(that might explain"Paris" on the dial) or they made this in America, and someone at a latter date changed the dial to read"Paris" You can decide. The movement is very very clean and this clock must have been serviced since there is no dirt on the movement. The clock is very heavy and because of that, the shipping charges are estimated- as soon as I get the winning bidders zip code, I can then give a more accurate price. George B. Owen~Winsted. Conn~ANTIQUE COLLECTIBLE~c LATE 1800'S~GOtTA HAVE IT! Description: ANTIQUE George B. Owen Winsted. Conn On July 5. 1871, the William L. Gilbert Clock Company was formed at Winsted, Conn. to succeed the Gilbert Manufacturing Company(1866-1871) which had been dissolved after a fire destroyed the factory. These firms had grown out of the clockmaking operations of William L. Gilbert(1806-890) who, since 1828, had been involved in various clockmaking partnerships in Bristol, Farmington and Winsted, Connecticut. In July of 1873. The new factory complex was completed and manufacturing commenced. George B. Owen(1834-1916) had come to Winsted in 1866 as General Manager and ran the firm for nearly 50 years, designing many interesting cases and patenting several clock movement features. Owen also operated a concurrent clock ... morebusiness at Winsted between 1875 and 1894. In 1897. The Gilbert firm built a four-story building for a new case shop and another building by 1900 for storage and shipping. A three-story office building was built in 1902. The recession, which began in 1907, along with the financial pressures of their recent expansion headed the firm in a decline that culminated by forcing George B. Owen and his sons to relinquish control in 1914 Bankruptcy and liquidation were barely avoided in 1914 and a new manager. Charles E. Williams, was appointed and served until his death in 1930, just a few months following the stock market crash. Pressures of the Great Depression and money spent in developing electronic clocks sent the firm into receivership in September, 1932. c LATE 1800'S ANTIQUE COLLECTIBLE PLEASE VIEW ALL PICS CLOCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS.
