1890s E. INGRAHAM 8 DAY w/HOUR ORNATE MANTEL CLOCK - GREEN MARBLEIZING, CHERUBS
1890s vintage E. Ingraham fancy ebony mantel clock. 8 day movement with hour count gong and bell for the half hour. Has ebony finish, cast feet, doorknockers on the sides that are missing their rings, columns with cherub angels resting on a foundation of green marbellized beams. Ornate brass face has good numerals; missing the outer ring and glass bezel. Case top needs refurb, balance of case could either be touched up and oiled/polished or refinished as well- quite presentable as is. Runs strong, has incorrect pendulum weight but seems to like it okay. Nice solid, tight clock that had never been abused, just left aside many years ago. Needs the small spring replaced that holds tension on the gong mainspring ratchet. I have the piece that broke off and the exact location is pointed out in the last picture. Antique Time and Strike Ingraham"Dahlia" Mantel Clock A beautiful solid oak mantel clock. Runs strong. Chimes the hour and the half hour. Movement has been adjusted and oiled and is dated Dec(12) 1898(98) As with many Antique clocks. This likes a level surface in order to run well. Original glass with a beautiful gold Griffon, reverse stenciled design. 21 1/2" tall by 14 1/2" wide. Pendulum and key included. As with any antique clock. It may need adjusting after shipping. Otherwise this is an exceptionally nice clock with ornate sunbursts designs in the pressed top and freestanding side columns. Clock appears to have had a professional restoration fairly recently, leaving the dial pan original. Runs strong, keeps good time. Nice solid, tight clock that had never been abused before restoration. Very fancy woodwork. Has original label on the back- see last picture. Case measures +/ 14-1/2"l x 5-7-16"w x 10-1/16"h. Comes with key I received with clock and same with the pendulum. Case has several scratches and needs cleaned. Dial face has scratching shown. Wind it up and it will keep very accurate time through 8 days and strike a gentle"gong" on the hour and a soft"ding" on the half-hour. This rare 8-day mantle clock. Manufactured by The INGRAHAM Co. in Bristol, Connecticut around 1900, has all its original parts and they all work well. The original key winds the clock spring through one keyhole and winds the chimes through a second keyhole. An adjustment wheel on the clock face can be turned to speed up the clock or slow it down. Three decorative pillars. With faux marble at top and bottom. Frame both sides of the clock face. Delicately carved scrolling adorns the wood near the base and top. A brass-like ring surrounds the glass face cover. Ornate ... moremetal feet support the clock. A gorgeously detailed lion's head. Ring hanging from its mouth, is mounted on each side of the clock. Cosmetically the clock is in very good condition. Antique Ingraham 8 day mantle clock built of maple. All original condition. I think it also has an alarm. The inside shows the label of the seller. The R.B. Swift Co. Portland, Me. pasted over the Ingraham label. It is in very good original condition and only lacks the key. It was working a few years ago but since I don't have the key I cannot guarantee it.

The dial face is an old replacement label. Not sure if the applied decoration n the top was larger at one point or not. That is how it was received. Very nice original antique Eastlake Victorian Ingraham oak Eclipse Cabinet 8-day mantel clock with fancy brass dial and chime. I wound the clock approx. 24 hours ago and it is still running. The chimes sound a bit dull. The clock measures approx. 17" tall x 12 3/4" wide x 6 1/4" deep. The in very good condition with only normal use/age wear and the metal door has been replaced, otherwise no breaks or repairs just a great item.
