It has two repeater functions- the more common button on top for repeating hours and a very rare button on the back for repeating 5 minutes. In fact. I own six grande and petite sonnerie carriage clocks and this is only the second 5 minute repeater that I have ever come across. I am still highly debating whether I really want to sell it, but I do prefer carriage clocks with more ornate cases. This clock is fully functional- it runs and strikes properly, also both repeaters work perfectly. One side glass has a small chip(see the photos) Front glass has a tiny surface chip, so small that I have not been able to take a picture that shows it. I have not timed the clock to see if it keeps the time accurately. But this is, of course, easily adjustable. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 7" high(with handle extended up) 3.75" wide and 3.25" deep. I am not a clock dealer- I am a clock collector and a member of NAWCC. RARE Oval Brass Carriage Clock French c.1860 Curved Beveled Crystal Alarm RARE Oval Brass Carriage Clock French c.1860 Curved Beveled Crystal Alarm This auction is for this amazing French bronze carriage clock that was my personal clock and it was bought at a Sotheby's auction at the castle of the Prince of Baden in Germany. It is unusual as it is an oval carriage clock and the crystal is curved and beveled. It is also an alarm clock on bell. It has it's original cylinder escapement. It was just overhauled and bushed in bronze. The escapement has the letters"FR" and"FA" as well as an arrow. When opened"SR" and"FA" are again engraved in the back panel. There is also a lion engraved into the back panel and I assume that this is the maker's mark. The back curved crystal on the little drawer ... morethat opens is slightly chipped and the edges of the corners. Otherwise the clock is in it's good original condition and is uncleaned with it's original patina. Clock face and alarm clock face are porcelain panels with decorative Arabic numerals. Being totally overhauled. The clock works very well! Up for auction is a beautiful carriage clock by Duverdrey& Bloquel. It has retained its patina which gives it a bronze-like quality. I don't believe this clock has ever been shined. It may actually be bronze- we're not really sure. The mainspring appears to be fine and the balance wheel is moving freely as you can observe through the oval window at the top. The clock measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handle and 3 1/4" wide. The porcelain face is beautiful and the hands have turned a blue-ish colour. Not being a clock expert I am not able to guarantee its condition. But its owner assured me that it was serviced years ago and was in working order in the 1980's. Hello. This auction is for a rare and Awesome 1800's Large J.E. Caldwell Philadelphia French Carriage Clock which Strikes the hour and half hour on a gong, has a Repeater function which strikes the hour and an alarm function. The case looks to have been polished at some time in the resent past. The sides are beveled curved glass with one of them replaced with plastic. The large heavy beveled escapement viewing glass at the top has some scratches and has has some restoration. The clock seems to run for about 8 days. It does gain approx. 2 minutes per day. Clock dates from the mid-1800's. Porcelain dials are both nice with blue lettering with the original Louis XIV fancy hands. This clock with the handle up measures approx. 7-1/4" and weighs over 4 pounds. Here's a very nice miniature French carriage clock in a serpentine case with cloisonné bands top and bottom. Made about 1900. The case is just 8cm high and with the handle up it is 10.5 cm high. The brass case is especially nice with a"diamond" border at the top and bottom. The clock is 7 1/2" high to the top of the handle. 5 1/2" to the top of the case and 3 3/4" across. The back is marked"Hande France" The bottom has a sticker from the clockmaker when the previous owner had it serviced. The clock is currently keeping time and chiming now but no guarantees that it will be running after shipment. You are buying"as is" I do NOT have the key. Vintage gilded French carriage clock. In excellent working condition with brass key. The very beautiful clock has a substantial gilded case. It is heavily casted and gilded with finely casted caryatids on four columns. Floral motif on the handle. On top, on the surrounding area of the face, on the sides, the back and the bottom. There is a lot of detail on this clock and exquisitely made. Please check the photos carefully and you can appreciate this is a wonderful work of art. Bevel glass on top so you can see the movement. The Clock: Late 19th century French Champleve Enamel Carriage Clock. 7 cm tall. Signed inside on verso of enamel panel but I would have to take apart the clock to see the maker's name which is only partially visible in a florid script(having very little knowledge of clocks I have not attempted this) This clock appears to be in good working order and in very good condition save for a very small chip in the rear crystal panel upper right corner. The front crystal occasionally pops out and needs to be snapped in again. The key looks like a later English replacement as the clock is French. The clock has an 8 day movement. 4 enameled dials and comes with a key. The movement is in running condition and the calendar is served by the movement and does work. The striking part of the movement does not work and is missing many parts so it needs a restoration. It has its ORIGINAL BOX which is quite unique. The box has a red removable panel that will allow the clock to be seen with it fully inside. This would help to protect it while it was riding around. It is quite unique that an original box would still be in such good shape. Given the age. It has an rectangle beveled glass view window on the top under a small swing handle, and the other 4 sides are flaned with the same great beveled glass. The white face has a few hairlines through it, but they do not seem to hinder performance. This piece is in working order as it stands, however it will need a good once over when you receive it, as with any antique clock that is shipped any distance. The piece is signed only France on the face. A well made clock in a small package with its original box. It measures approx. 5" tall and 3 1/4" wide by only 2 1/2" deep. The box measures approx. 4" x 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" The box is near shabby chic condition, just wear commensurate with age and a crack across the lid that does not hinder function. What a fun find! Wonderful late 1800s French Brass Carriage Clock with locking case. Clock movement is in excellent condition and all original. Running smoothly and strong. But a little fast and needs an adjustment. All glass is primo except for one tiny chip in the upper left corner of the front pane. Comes with two keys: one for adjusting the time and one for winding the time mechanism. The case has lost its strap and is a little worn, but still functional and the lid locks. The case has velvet inside and a removable front panel to show the clock face. On the back of the clock movement, there is a Lion figure, Made in France" imprint, as well as scroll initials which look to me like"LR& FA. So, the movement is well-signed. Antique Early 1900's Visible Brass Glass RUNNING Miniature French Carriage Clock
An early 1900's brass and glass carriage clock. We've had it running for 24 hours now and it keeps accurate time however it may need the fast/slow speed adjusted after shipping. Unrestored. The brass has taken on a nice patina that comes from age. The glass is beveled and has no cracks although it does need cleaning both inside and out. Dusty inside too. The porcelain dial does have some very tight hairlines in it as shown. The door on the back opens very stiffly. It should close, I don't see anything bent, however I am not going to try and close it as I know you will want to clean the inside before using it every day. The only marking I see on this clock says"Made in France" and is stamped into the bottom of the brass back of the movement. Comes with the original key. No Reserve, Free Shipping This is a handsome antique leather cased quarter repeating carriage clock from France dating to the late 19th century. The charming brass frame features beveled glass panels for a glimpse into the inner workings of the clock. The repeating clock also functions as an alarm clock using the lower dial to set the time of the alarm. As the name suggests. The clock chirps out every quarter hour with one"bing-bong" at quarter after, two"bing-bongs" at half past, and three"bing-bongs" at quarter of the hour. It chimes the number of the hour on the hour. Accompanied with a key and the original leather traveling case. Even with the case completely closed, you may press ... moredown on the repeater button and it will chirp out the time. We are sending along proof of a previous acquisition of this clock from Switzerland in the latter decades of the 20th century. In overall very good cosmetic condition with light scratches to the glass panels and some surface/finish wear to the brass. There is a deep scratch on the front glass panel as pictured. The clock winds. Runs, and keeps good time. It is off in terms of the hour: it chimes out an hour the hands currently do not rest on. The chiming/ repeating function seem to be working normally. Though we have heard the alarm sound, we have been unsuccessful in setting the alarm in that it sounds when it should. It is most likely in need of a cleaning, but we cannot guarantee the future working condition of the clock or alarm mechanism. The travel case is worn with some losses to the top layer of leather. The velvet lining is pulling from the sides. This condition is consistent with age and use. Measures 5 3/4" to the top of the folding handle and 4 1/2" to the top of the clock case. Carriage Clocks A mid 19th Century gorge case carriage clock having a polished brass and hand chased case. With thick bevel edge glass panels. It has exceptional hand painted front and side panels on porcelain with jeweled accents, gold gilt, and cobalt blue borders. The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong and has a working hour repeat button. The clock has its original lever platform. Made by Achilles Brocot, Paris(1817- 1878) a famous French clockmaker of the 19th Century. The dial is 2 1/8" in diameter. Note the tropical theme to the paintings of the panels- beautiful white cranes on each panel. And birds on the front panel. Size is 5 3/4" tall- 7 1/4" with the handle x 4" x 3 1/2" Condition is very good- 2 tiny chips to the front panel; one to the top right corner. Condition: The legs are a bit splayed. But could be bent back into position. Clock does run sometimes, but I have not tried to wind it to see if it keeps time. Would probably need to be serviced.
