It has two repeater functions- the more common button on top for repeating hours and a very rare button on the back for repeating 5 minutes. In fact. I own six grande and petite sonnerie carriage clocks and this is only the second 5 minute repeater that I have ever come across. I am still highly debating whether I really want to sell it, but I do prefer carriage clocks with more ornate cases. This clock is fully functional- it runs and strikes properly, also both repeaters work perfectly. One side glass has a small chip(see the photos) Front glass has a tiny surface chip, so small that I have not been able to take a picture that shows it. I have not timed the clock to see if it keeps the time accurately. But this is, of course, easily adjustable. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 7" high(with handle extended up) 3.75" wide and 3.25" deep. I am not a clock dealer- I am a clock collector and a member of NAWCC. RARE Oval Brass Carriage Clock French c.1860 Curved Beveled Crystal Alarm RARE Oval Brass Carriage Clock French c.1860 Curved Beveled Crystal Alarm This auction is for this amazing French bronze carriage clock that was my personal clock and it was bought at a Sotheby's auction at the castle of the Prince of Baden in Germany. It is unusual as it is an oval carriage clock and the crystal is curved and beveled. It is also an alarm clock on bell. It has it's original cylinder escapement. It was just overhauled and bushed in bronze. The escapement has the letters"FR" and"FA" as well as an arrow. When opened"SR" and"FA" are again engraved in the back panel. There is also a lion engraved into the back panel and I assume that this is the maker's mark. The back curved crystal on the little drawer ... morethat opens is slightly chipped and the edges of the corners. Otherwise the clock is in it's good original condition and is uncleaned with it's original patina. Clock face and alarm clock face are porcelain panels with decorative Arabic numerals. Being totally overhauled. The clock works very well! With the handle lying flat, it is 4.5" high and with the decorative curved handle extended, it is 6.25" high, 3.5" wide, and a little over 2.5" deep. It stands on four brass bun feet. The Estate said the Clock was running but I can not seem to get it to work, when the top Button is Pulled up the Alarm goes off so it is in need of some adjustment or repair and is being Sold As is. I could also not figure out how to get into the workings of the Clock to photo them. The Clock comes in it's original Leather Fitted Traveling Case which is in good condition for most part with some wear and the one door is loose, though it displays nicely and has kept the Clock safe for approx 150 years. The clock has a turned carrying handle to the top with a beveled oval glass window to the top, the clock has beveled glass on all the other sides. The dial is in white enamel and has black Roman numerals, has the original winding key. In perfect working order. The elegant face is white enamel with Roman numerals marking the hours. Outside the hours is a delicately inked circle of lines and serif numerals expressing the minutes with the numbers at five minute intervals. There is a diamond beneath the serif numerals at the quarter hours. The body of the clock is a brass columnar case framing four bevelled glass panels. It is topped ... moreby a raised glass bevelled oval lozenge window crowned with a graceful curvilinear handle ending in a ball hinge on either side. The handle can either stand errect or rest on the top towards the back. The clock rests on a solid. Curvilinear brass base. The clock chimes gently on the hour and the half hour. 18th Century Duverdrey & Bloquel Antique French Brass Carriage Clock -- WORKS!
Up for auction is a beautiful carriage clock by Duverdrey& Bloquel. It has retained its patina which gives it a bronze-like quality. I don't believe this clock has ever been shined. It may actually be bronze- we're not really sure. The mainspring appears to be fine and the balance wheel is moving freely as you can observe through the oval window at the top. The clock measures 5 3/4" tall to top of handle and 3 1/4" wide. The porcelain face is beautiful and the hands have turned a blue-ish colour. Not being a clock expert I am not able to guarantee its condition. But its owner assured me that it was serviced years ago and was in working order in the 1980's. I have since recently wound it and it has kept time. It has a new key that is not original to the clock. Invest in this gorgeous antique timepiece now. Presented for your consideration is this beautiful antique French carriage clock. I am not a clock expert but will describe the best I can. Any info appreciated! The brass case is especially nice with a"diamond" border at the top and bottom. The clock is 7 1/2" high to the top of the handle. 5 1/2" to the top of the case and 3 3/4" across. The back is marked"Hande France" The bottom has a sticker from the clockmaker when the previous owner had it serviced. The clock is currently keeping time and chiming now but no guarantees that it will be running after shipment. You are buying"as is" I do NOT have the key. The clock is in very good cosmetic condition. The glass is all intact. Brass Carriage Clock - Wm Meyerink & Co.
Vintage Rare Carriage Clock marked Wm. Meyerink& Co. Embossed on the back door is a Chinese emblem with characters and makers name. The sides of this clock are glass. So you can see the workings. The face is a little brown but you can still clearly see the roman numerals. The key is hanging on a place holder inside the door. The outside of the door is very ornate and so is the front. There appears to be a music box wheel on the bottom of the clock. Please look at all the pictures- Lots of patina I do not know if the clock works because I have not tried to wind it. The clock can be carried by the handle on top. The clock is 6 inches tall with the handle down and 4 inches wide on the front and back. The sides are approx. 2 1/2 inches. Antique Early 1900's Visible Brass Glass RUNNING Miniature French Carriage Clock
An early 1900's brass and glass carriage clock. We've had it running for 24 hours now and it keeps accurate time however it may need the fast/slow speed adjusted after shipping. Unrestored. The brass has taken on a nice patina that comes from age. The glass is beveled and has no cracks although it does need cleaning both inside and out. Dusty inside too. The porcelain dial does have some very tight hairlines in it as shown. The door on the back opens very stiffly. It should close, I don't see anything bent, however I am not going to try and close it as I know you will want to clean the inside before using it every day. The only marking I see on this clock says"Made in France" and is stamped into the bottom of the brass back of the movement. Comes with the original key.
