Antique "Waterfall" Double Bed Set - 3 Piece
This is 3 piece bedroom set featuring: Double Bed. 5 Drawer Clothes Chest, Vanity w/round bevelled mirror, and stool/seat. The set features Walnut wood veneer. There is some flaking/splitting of the veneer along the bottom of the Clothes Chest. All other veneer is in good condition. Vanity has the original blue glass shelf in front of the mirror. The set was purchased in 1912 by Grandmother- 1 Family ownership.

Antique Federal style bed head board and foot board dating from the early 1900's. Stunning flame mahogany veneers grace the surfaces of this piece and are decorated with intricate contrasting inlay. The Square legs rise to the top of each piece. Creating a border around the entire bed. Sorry, but we do not have the side rails for this piece. The width of this bed is 57" placing it between a modern full/double and a modern queen size. This bed is in very good condition. There is little to no wear to the head board. Although the lower veneerless board does come loose. The foot board has some damage to the veneer across the bottom and a small area of buckling in one corner. Otherwise no damage or repairs. This is a good ol New Orleans vintage or antique wooden bed. French styled. We got this from a friend down here on the beach. I would keep it but I have a twin bed. It looks old but is solid and in excellent shape. If u live close by(New Orleans to Mobile) I can throw in a nice full mattress and box spring for $50! It is full size and had full bed on it. That is 57" wide and 76" long. The bed comes with head and foot boards with original rails. The headboard is about 4 feet tall. You can pick up. We are pleased to present this antique bed frame. Acquired from a generations-owned family estate out of Montana. From what we were told, it has been in the same family all this time. This antique bed certainly looks the part, and while it is in overall good condition, it does have a few items worth mentioning. The paint is flaking(see photos) and there is some surface rust, though this is nothing that will affect the display quality or functionality of the bed itself. At some point in its long history. The furniture came from John Widdicombs granddaughter and was given to my customer.She has had it for a very long time. She said it is turn of the century and/or victorian. Made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. We are not sure what type of wood it is. Appears to be maple or ash. It has a veneer finish. The bed comes with a headboard.Footboard and side boards. Complete bed. The bed measures 54 1/2" w by 70 1/2"tall X 77" This is a long bed and is unusual because its a full or double. The dresser has four drawers and two smaller drawers on the top. The dresser also comes with a mirror. It is a very victorian looking mirror. The four central turned posts hold the canopy in place and are held in place by large brass thumbscrews. The two-tier foot and headboard are mirrored in design showing turned spindles. Carvings and a central carved urn flanked by two caved panels either side. Above the headboard and footboard. Two sets of spindles hold the drop down canopy in place. Interesting the wooden pegs all around the outside I guess for webbing a net to support bedding. However I think a system of slatts with webbing or cord loops at both ends which hoop over the pegs and suspend the rigid wooden slats to take the mattress, the mattress would have a slight swing movement which could be good. Antique 1905 Iron and Brass Double Bed
This beautiful ornate iron. Brass, silver-toned metal and oak double bed was in the home of the eminent and much-loved doctor, Giles Lucas, and his wife, Lucy Jane, when his daughter, who they also named Lucy Jane, was born in 1906 in Van Buren, Arkansas. It stayed in the mansion until 1970, when it was shipped to the home of Lucy Jane Cannon in Florida. The humid environment in Florida over the years caused the paint to peal, and concerns about health issues connected with lead paint led to the decision to remove all the loose paint. The present owners have removed some of the layer of lacquer which obscured the luster of the brass. The iron has had all the loose paint removed, as have the silver-colored metal ornaments at the intersection points. All four casters are in place. The bed is still in great shape, and is beautiful.
